Eating too few calories= slow weight loss?
Hi! I am not banded yet but I have read several posts on here by people who had stalled weightloss if they were eating less than 1000 calories per day. Once they got back up to eating at least 900 to 1000 they began to lose weight again. Im sure it is different with everyone ... I pray that I find my groove quickly after surgery! I have my surgery on April 5th. Best wishes!

I'm confused about portion size...help?
Thanks! I just read a link that you posted about "restriction" and it made sooo much sense. Measure your portion, eat slow and walk away. I was comforted by the article because I am afraid of the "hard stops" ... I like the idea of measuring, eating and walking away much more than eating til I "feel full" and not being successful because the stomach stretches. It was a very informative read! Thank you for sharing it!

I'm confused about portion size...help?
I am having surgery April 5th. I keep reading that the "pouch" will hold about 2 ounces of food. Then I read that our portions after surgery should be 1 cup of food 3 times per day. How does one cup ( 8 ounces) of food fit into a 2 ounce pouch?

Booked! Now scared and excited all at the same time
I start my pre-op diet on Monday the 25th. I have been trying some different brands of protein shakes. I just got a delivery of the Unjury powder starter pack with 2 of each of the flavors they offer. Hope they are tasty. I'm in Missouri but traveling to Texas for surgery. Kind of nervous about that and aftercare. I would feel better if I knew I could go in for my aftercare whenever I wanted at no additional cost for the first year....I will either have to travel back to Dallas or pay $250 per visit locally. BUT...the surgery is half the cost in Dallas vs. locally.

Post Op Diet?? What was on your menu?
I have my surgery date set for April 5th. I start my pre-op diet on March 25th. I am just curious what the immediate post op diet is like? I have heard liquids for a few weeks, then "mushies"? What was on your post op menu for the first several weeks?

Anyone get their band at True Results in Dallas, TX? Surgery Center of Richardson
What is the post-op diet??? I am most worried about learning to slow down when I eat. I do childcare out of my home and I am soooo used to shoving food down as fast as I can so I can actually eat it at the temp its supposed to be wether hot or cold. LOL ... but I'm so excited about having this tool to help me get back the spunky me that is burried under all this extra weight! I will do whatever I've got to do. When you say you aren't in the green zone, does that mean you are hungry all the time?

AWESOME!!! That is definitely doable!! So how long did it take you to find your green zone and how long did it take you to hit your goal weight? I know everyone is different but I also feel like (from everything I have read) the band is a tool and if you use it properly it WILL work. I am sooo ready to lose this weight for life and know that I will always have this tool to help me!

Thank you for your input!! It makes me feel better hearing from people who know! Congrats on all your loss...you look FABULOUS! I am sooo excited! I am not sure if I will go to Dallas for after care. I was planning on spending $18k locally and finding it for under 10k with about a 7 hour drive or 1 hour flight has definitely changed my plans. I think that I will plan to go to Dallas for aftercare but if I need to see someone before I can make it down there then I will see the doc here for $250....still saving a TON of money! Can you tell me about aftercare? Like do you need spontaneous care or are they visits that can be scheduled weeks in advance?

I'm looking into traveling from MO to Dallas, TX for my lap band surgery. I am self pay and the cost is almost half what they want where I live! Crazy! Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback anyone has regarding this facility! Thanks!

Care Credit...what's your payment??
I was just approved through care credit for $11,700 (if only that was enough to cover my surgery!! UGHH) and I'm wondering if anyone has used Care Credit and what your monthly payment is. I know the interest rate is going to be 14.9% but it didnt give me any info other than "low monthly payments". If you used Care Credit, how much did you charge and what's your monthly payment?

didnt think id be posting in a success story.....but......

Financing FREAK OUT!

Financing FREAK OUT!
Yeah for paying it off!!! If you don't mind me asking, how much was your total cost? $266 sounds like a doable payment for me.

Financing FREAK OUT!
Ohhh if only I had some equity in my home!! I am one of the lucky ones that bought the year before the market tanked.

Financing FREAK OUT!
I am so devastated at the moment! I had my consultation, physical and lab work...everything was given the green light. I just needed to provide the financing, I thought I had it worked out through a family member financing and she was denied as a cosigner. Apparently my credit is great but my income is too low (I have my own business so my taxes show little income after right offs) .. well my cosigner makes a very high salary but her credit score was not as good as mine. The loan agent said my cosigner's credit score has to be better than mine "which is going to be hard to do" .... well that was nice to hear but also completely crushed me. SOOOO...now what? Ughh. Im feeling sooo sick. Praying that my cosigner can just take out a personal loan from her bank and although the interest will be a lot higher at least I would still be able to have the Lap Band.
