  1. I ended up ordering a classic cheeseburger plain with no bun and grilled zucchini. I only at a small amount of the burger and some of the zucchinis. I stopped when I felt satisfied. Brought the rest home and probably will get 2 more meals out of it. Nice!
  2. I have to go to Ruby Tuesday for dinner tonight with my inlaws. Today is my first day on solid food and I don't know what I should order. I have 3.5cc in my band. I want to stay high Protein low carb so I was thinking Petite Sirloin with grilled zucchini but I'm scared to eat steak. My plan would be to ask for a box with my meal and just eat my 1/2 cup portion then take the rest home....but how much steak and zucchini can you fit in half a cup? LOL I would much rather stay home where I know I'm safe but I gotta figure this out sooner or later. Any input??
  3. I love the Viactive chocolate chews.
  4. Are the protein shakes supposed to be in addition to the three 1/2 cup meals per day?
  5. My dr office is closed til Monday and I am so confused! I am in the "mushy" phase and I am confused as to how many calories and carbs I am supposed to eat each day. I just reread my post op diet info and it just says to get 30-40 grams of Protein and not to eat more than 1/2 cup of food at a time. But I feel like if I don't get in at least 1000 calories I won't lose weight because that is counterproductive. Anyone have any info?
  6. I was banded on April 5th....my surgeon put 3.5cc in at placement.
  7. I was banded on the 5th too! I am having a hard time with the soft food stage. I feel like everything is so full of carbs or sodium and I feel like if I eat Im going to gain. I definitely feel like the weight came off easier during the pre-op diet when I could eat chicken and lean meats.
  8. How is everyone who was banded in April doing? I was banded April 5th and it does get better every day! I am excited that I am finally able to lay on my side for a little while in the morning. I can't wait until I can sleep on my side all night. I am not a happy back sleeper! I am having a hard time with low carb mushy foods. Canned foods like chili and soup are so high in sodium that I find I do not lose weight on days that I eat those. I went back to liquid diet for a day and yesterday I incorporated 1/2 cup of fat-free refried beans with 2% cheese and a little sour cream and I was down this morning. Hooray for beans! Sorry family! LOL I have lost 23.4 pounds since March 25th when I started my pre-op diet. Since surgery I have lost 8 pounds. I am so excited about this journey. I think that being a self-pay patient really helps keep me focused on why I did this. I still have the food demons in my head but my bill for surgery keeps me accountable! LOL
  9. I just had 1/2 cup of chili with no beans and added a table spoon of cream cheese. It was fabulous after being on pure liquids for a week
  10. Ohhh love the chili idea. I used to make a dip with chili and cream cheese. So I know I would enjoy this! I also enjoy egg salad and chicken salad....the chicken salad I am not sure I have had it "mushy" enough but I guess its worth a try! Thanks for the ideas!!!
  11. How about the Viactive Chews for Calcium? I also started those pre-op but have been scared to take them since surgery.
  12. Any ideas for the mushies stage that are low carb, high Protein would be greatly appreciated. I don't do seafood aside from occassional tuna salad so I'm looking for other options. Thanks for your help!!
  13. I was banded on the 5th too! I have lost 20 pounds since I started the pre-op diet on March 25th. About 5 pounds is post surgery loss. I didn't lose anything the first 3 days after surgery but the last few days I have lost about a pound a day. I am on a liquid diet for a couple more days then on to mushies. I have been making sure to get my protein in through Atkins Day Break shakes as they are low carb and also using Unjury Vanilla powder in my coffee. I am currently looking for low carb mushy ideas if anyone has any!?
  14. Anyone take Gummy vitamins right after surgery? I can't stand the chewable powdery ones ... bluchhh! Scared the gummies will get stuck.
  15. Who did your surgery in Texas? I had mine on April 5th at True Results in Dallas/Richardson with Dr. Marsden.
  16. I'm praying its gone before I go home on Monday. It seems to last about 24 hours but my daughter is probably next. I'm supposed to go home Monday. Ugggh
  17. The stomach bug has attacked everyone in my house. I just had surgery yesterday and I'm scared to go home and catch a bug that is going to make me vomit!
  18. Got my band 4 hours ago and I'm at my hotel relaxing. So far the only issue is the gas release. Can't wait for that to be gone!! Once this groggy feeling goes away I am going for a little walk. :$ super excited!
  19. Amazing! I am having surgery in 3 hours and this is just what I needed to see! Thank u!
  20. Me either! I only see the option to add if u have their email. ;(
  21. Super excited for you! I am scheduled for April 5th! Started my preop diet Monday and down 6.6 pounds. Can't wait to be on the other side!
  22. My surgery is the 5th too! I can't wait!!
  23. Yesterday was day one of my pre-op diet, which in my opinion is way easier than the full liquid diet and I was still struggling all day. I am happy that this morning I was down 4.4 pounds which I realize is probably Water weight but whatever it made it feel that yesterdays misery was worth it. I don't expect those results every day but it should help get me through today! Keep at it. It is going to be hard but sooo worth it in the end!
  24. I was planning to have surgery locally and it was $18k. I was not able to get financing for the whole thing. I was approved through care credit for $11,700 and decided to travel to Dallas to have my surgery with True Results for $9,980. It is a 30 minute drive then an hour flight. Definitely worth the savings. Even if I have to pay for the first year of aftercare locally ($250 per visit) I will still spend WAY less than the $18k I thought I was going to pay.
  25. I have eaten paleo for stretches of time. I LOVE it and feel my best when I eat Paleo. It's just a hard transition but so worth it to be free of processed foods. I feel bad because I get sucked back in to processed stuff when I'm in a hurry and have to feed the kids. IP-LB...do you do Cross Fit?? That is on my list of things to try after I lose a bit of weight.
