    Well got the good news today was approved for my surgery !! I will see the surgeon on Monday and start my pre op on tues . I'm excited and nervous at the same time . Looks like September 9 th will be the day. But I will know for sure on Monday .

    You need to get with your new doctor's staff. PA's, dietitian, nurse, etc to get you started again. I would suggest go back to square one. liquids just like you did after surgery for a period of time prescribed by doctor or his staff. Then on to the soft and then solid. I am sure you new doctor will be able to provide some menus and cooking ideas to help. So, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with a non supportive doctor.

    I'm doing two amazing things at the same time, thanks to the miracle of modern medicine: I am losing weight (thanks to the band) and I am on day 5 without a cigarette (thanks to Chantix). Smokers fear gaining tons of weight when they quit...not enough of a reason to keep smoking, but I am so happy to say that thanks to my band my weight is easier to control and thanks to chantix I'm not going ape shyt crazy or eating everything in sight.
    I'm a loser and a quitter and I've never felt so proud of myself.

    I was drinking Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacements before surgery without any problem and they are yummy! Post surgery they give me severe diarrhea about an hr after I drink them! It took me forever to figure out what was causing that but Adkins shakes and several other whey Protein based shakes do the same. It seems like post surgery I have become what I like to call "lactose sensitive"! Try Genisoy products

    As of September 9th this year it has been 4 years since I had my surgery! I have been extremely successful and have maintained my weight loss and healthy life style! I am happier then ever and would not change my decision for the world! I wish you all success love and happiness.. Work your band! don’t let your band work you!     I am 7 weeks post op and this past week I realized just how depressed I am...I've struggled with depression before but I definitely believe the surgery played a big part this time. It was so bad my husband actually mentioned to me among others that they thought I was depressed. Needless to say I had to go to the dr for antidepressants. It's not a good feeling to be depressed and feeling like there is no way to make yourself feel happy. I don't know if you are depressed but don't go too long waiting for it to go away if it doesn't seem to be. Best of luck to you

    I agree, I use it to keep my eye on what I'm eating. They say the way to success is to journal everything. MFP keeps you aware of calories going in.

    I agree with everything that was said. I think I've relied too heavily on counting calories and let it discourage me. I need to focus on the rules of eating most importantly. However, I find that I'm addicted to MFP and it keeps me accountable which is a good thing. As always, thanks for your input!

    I agree with everything that was said. I think I've relied too heavily on counting calories and let it discourage me. I need to focus on the rules of eating most importantly.     Tomorrow is my 1st doctors apt for a fill in my lab band. I hope to loose 25-30 lbs again this month! Down 29 lbs!!!

    i am a total believer in if take in more calories then you burn off, you will gain
    its how i got obese...the calories i eat now are better chosen..lean proteins/veggies/fruit

    A fact for me is eating more Protein and fat calories allow me to lose faster than carb calories.

    Mzz it was very hard for me too in the end i did go get my first fill yesterday and on liquids right now for a couple days... i have never counted calories .. being a ww fanatic who love the point system... this will be interesting now

    For me, the day I stopped using my I-phone app, and stopped counting calories, etc, was liberating! Total Freedom!
    Along with all the other verbage like starvation mode, metabolism, etc. It made my head hurt!
    I began, per my Dr's advice, concentrating on a healthy, active lifestyle, one that involved eating much LESS than I used to, and exercising a lot MORE than I used to.....
    I am old school...want to loose weight? Don't eat so much.....that's all every diet under the sun is designed to do.....

    My nutrionist suggests 800-1000 calories for me. Following the Protein and serving size rules, no alcohol, no snacking etc, it's pretty easy to stay in that range.

    "Fat" loss is based on calories in vs. calories burned. But we all retain fluids or build muscle to replace the lost fat as long as we exercise. So it's not always going to show on the scale. So, you can lose 2 lbs a week in fat, but lose very little weight if you replace that lost fat with muscle.

    My MFP always says I will weigh 173 in 5 weeks for the past week, well my weight finally went down again after a week. I wouldn't go by that, because it never seems to go that way and you will get discouraged. My doctor put me on 900 calories a day, which is perfect for me. I can't seem to get much more than that in.

    I am 6 wks post op today and have stayed the same for the last 2 weeks. I got a fill yesterday and on liquids for 2 days. I increased my cardio 3 days ago. Hoping between the liquids and cardio things will get moving again.

    Well for one, you shouldn't be basing your calories on what MFP says, it should be based on what your nutritionist recommends. You have the band so you shouldn't be eating as much as a "normal" person. Chances are very good MFP is suggesting you eat a lot more calories than you should be.
    Go see your nutritionist. They are who you need to establish realistic eating and calorie guidelines.

    I want this weight to fly off me like yesterday. I know that's not going to happen but I 3 weeks out. I need to make a decision about exercise I felled so many time at the gym. My question is do I give it one more try or buy the insanity video and hip hop abs do a little walking and work it out that way. I need thinner thighs lol
