Hi! I have read your orginal post and all of the responses. I too have lost over 100 pounds since 2010. But have hit a year long stalemate. I refuse to give up because even though I have 45 pounds left I would love to let go of, I have already lost over 100, so this is so much better then when I started. My mind set throughout this whole journey is "no matter how long it takes" I have noticed so many none weight loss positive changes; eatting more healthy, not stuffing myself everday, last fast food meal 2+ years, can move around and do so much more than I ever could. So if someone where to tell me your done you won't be able to go lower, while disapointed, I will still remember where I was three years ago. I am not giving up but I refuse to me hard on myself, panic, feel like a failure, and have internal mental put downs...Heck No I am already a winner..and so are you!

Mine is Feb 5th!!! I'm on my 2 week Protein diet too, but the doctor did say I could eat some chicken or fish if I need too. It's been tough, but not as tough as I anticipated. :-)

This is a great post... but I want to tell everyone just starting: don't wait to dress nice! It's possible even at a plus size! I know it's hard to find stuff, but it's gotten much better over the years...even Tommy Hilfinger has a plus sized line! Feel good about yourself now and the journey will be even better! It's hard to break the habits of hiding behind black, baggy and stretchy... plus they don't work anyhow! Just because you're big doesn't mean you can be bright and fun!!!
On that note, as I've gone from a 24 Tao 12-14 I just recycle sizes, taking the too big stuff to the thrift store and leaving with a new batch of smaller things! But one of the best things is shoes .... getting in shape has made.it easier to wear higher heels, and I'm more coordinated in them! A whole new world opens up when you can wear 3" heels!!!

Heels!!! Heels!!! Stilettos!! I'd probably wear them to bed!! Lol. I'm so in love with sexy shoes. My knees and weight get in the way of me wearing them now :0(

Saw my surgeon today for a pre-op visit. I got my insurance approval and date as an added bonus. I'll be banded on February 4th.

I'm sorry to hear this. Honestly, I'm concerned about the same thing. I go in for my EGD on Tuesday and it will be a deal breaker for me as well. I wish you the best of luck.

Will it be easy peasey? No, it will not. Will it be worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
You need to truly want this, and you need to change your mindset about food. Food will never go away, so, if food is an addiction for you (I was a junkfood addict), then you need to change how you see food.
It's all in your mind Wozzie, and you control that. You choose your actions. You took the step towards making a lifetime change for yourself. You are so worth it!!! Focus on what needs done, and why you are doing it. Your health will improve, your self-image will improve, your confidence will increase.....that's what you need to think of when you sip your shakes.< /p>
It will get better, but it will not be easy. I hope you have a good support system at home, to help you with your lifetime goals. My husband is very supportive and he's the only one that knows about my lapband- I made a personal decision NOT to tell family and friends. However, the people on this website have been nothing but encouraging and supportive. So make sure to come here often, and make some friends. Read up, look at people's photo albums and see the amazing transformations. Be encouraged and inspired by then. I know I am!
Like the previous posters said: Be positive and know that you CAN do this. Stay busy and focused.

Stay busy! Time to clean out closets, write in a journal, read a book. Do anything to take your mind off food.< /p>
You want this and you can do this!
We'll be with you every step of the way.

This too shall pass. It does get easier each day. You will maybe find yourself not thinking so much of food, but more of why you might have wanted that food to begin with. It was very eye opening for me personally.
Good Luck, stay strong and fight the good fight.

Hi guys! I'm on Day 11 of a 15-day pre-op and I'm down 28 pounds - 6 before the start of the diet and 22 on the diet. I've exceeded my own expectations. Just realized today that I got my BMI down under 50, so now I'm "only" morbidly obese, not SUPER morbidly obese - LOL. I'm at 306 this morning and hoping, praying, to get to "twoderland" before surgery day, next Wednesday. I think I can, I think I can!

There will always be people in our lives that we seek positive reinforcement from. This starts from the day we were born with our parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, etc. It has taken me years to get to this point, but I have come to realize that my life is mine and I am the one that has to live my life. The people that I choose to share my life with knows my choice about Lap Band surgery, the rest do not. I have a motto....
If I would not choose to have someone take care of my children then I do not trust them with my private thoughts or feelings. Therefore I do not trust their opinion of me as they really do not know me or my thoughts and feelings.
Keep your support system close, whomever they are, you will need them. Although we may be strangers we are kin in our weight issues and the goals we have set for ourselves. Scream, cry or laugh, we will be here for you.

Thanks for all the links! I can't wait to dive in! I too have small children and they have to eat. This is definitley the hardest part. But once again...no matter how cranky and boo hooey I get.....I just remind myself that it's just a small part of the journey! I just keep my eye on the prize...and this is always worth it to me.
    Good luck everyone.
