  1. Thank you for your post. It helped remind me not to panic when my weightloss is stalling. Even though it slowed way down, I'm not gaining. I eat completely different and have different cravings;fruits and veggies. Who knew.
  2. Yogurt is my treat. I have it every evening with a little Kashi for the fiber.
  3. I hit a 2 month stall when I thought I would be loosing faster. I work for a school office and was a lot more active during the summer. I finally started loosing again. a friend who was banded 3 yrs ago told me that happens and to just do what you need to do and the scale will start moving again. The week or two is normal. Your body fluctuates fluids and then balances out.
  4. I eat out. I just order a protein and fruit or vegetables. if it is something I really like I take it home. I can have three meals from some things Ive ordered. I order water and maybe sip a little before eating and don't drink the rest of the time. I use gummy vitamins. You can get them at Target or anywhere. they are the newest rage right now. They even have omega 3s and fiber. you can also get some in powder form to put in drinks. My Dr took me off all NSIDs they can hurt your stomach. I used to take handful of pills but now I have to take them one at a time and wait a minute or so to not get stuck and wait a few minutes before going to bed. It was not fun to have that pill dissolve above the band. It's not bad you get used to the new way of living. It's worth it. Good Luck
  5. Paula young wigs. Some accessory stores have them too. Falls, clip-ons and extentions.
  6. Thanks, I normally wait about a minute and put my fork down. I was just rereading the info. from my surgeon and was double checking. It sounded like I had to do that forever. I know what you mean about taking an hour to eat that way. My husband is a fast eater and he would be done by the time I take my third bite. I've only got stuck while eating out and talking and not paying attention to my pace between bites.
  7. How long do you wait between bites? Do you wait the 5 minutes like after surgery or just until you feel the food go through.
  8. I'm going through the same thing, My hair was already fine. so I wear hair pieces when I have to look nice. Taking all my vitamins. I hate combing my hair after washing it. Looking into buying a wig that has same cut as mine.
  9. I've had both my knees replaced about 3 years ago. I have issues with walking or standing too long. I do water aerobics and I will use a stability ball and bounce on it and lift my weights. There is always something you can do, there are even chair exercise videos for those who can't walk or stand.
  10. Mio flavor for my water, tea bags, a small bottle of stevia to sweeten tea. I try to keep a protein bar in case I have to do errands after work and forgot to bring something. I work 10am to 1pm at a school.
  11. Yes, I'm glad I did. I'm in my late 50s and found out I' have a good heart. No blockages. You never know at my age, with the weight I could have been a ticking time bomb. but I guess all the working out it did before my knees ave out paid off. Also, the lower fat I have been eating even though I couldn't loose the weight.
  12. I try to picture that cake, cookie or bread just swelling up in my throat. It really helps take that desire away. I just smell it ,good enough for me.
  13. I will have just the insides of a sandwich and fruit or veggies. I've had mushoo pork and ate only one and took the rest home for another meal. At Mimi's I ordered the soup and 1/2 sandwich. I had the potroast sandwich and put the meat into my small cup of french onion soup.
  14. Hard boiled eggs, turkey sausage, I've made in a cupcake pan an egg dish. Egg beater with some fat free cottage cheese with chopped lean ham ,turkey sausage, and some light cheddar cheese season to taste and you could add some salsa or some veggies. I will eat only 2 for breakfast then have the others throughout the week. Sorry I'm not a exact measure type of cook.
  15. I went through it at a previous weight loss about 11 years ago. I drove my husband crazy.
  16. Praying you will feel and know the Lord's presence. May you take one day at a time and know nothing is forever and there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel. I've been there, My father-in-law was very ill and passed away while I was recovering from my knee replacement. It's hard when you can't be of any help physically when you are dealing with your own pain. God Bless
  17. If your gym has a pool do water aerobics. It's a good way to start and fun too. It is also not hard on the joints and will help you get your cardio and muscles going then you can slowly move up to the other machines.
  18. I have used several CD for this. A good one that deals with all issues of loosing weight is Think Yourself Thin. It comes with a book that talks about weight loss and has all the scrips from the CD in writing so to reinforce the learning. I used these before I even had the band and I did learn to leave food on my plate and to relax during eating. Another workbook and tape is Body Esteem . It is a work book that helps you deal with the emotions and looking at your past to see how your food issues started, I'm working with my therapist with this book. I can't find my CDs anymore.
  19. My Dr.'s orders said to strain the cream soups during the liquid stage. You could add some powdered protein to them for more nutrients. I would also strain some spicy soups because I got so tired of sweet protein shakes I wanted savory tastes. Flavored waters and I added a little juice to them to help with energy.
  20. I eat very rarely, but I do like the teriyaki turkey burger(without the bun) at Carl's Jr or Hardey's for you on the East coast. Also the chicken with black beans at El Pollio Loco.
  21. Lettuce raps at P.F. Changs. Celebrating Mother's Day and Birthdays.
  22. No rice, it;s on my Dr.'s avoid list. I'm staying away from all bread, pasta and rice. I'll eat some whole grain crackers and some maltigrain cereals with some yogurt. I know right now that I could loose control if I ate those carbs, so it's worth it to stay away.
  23. I use peanut butter but just put it in yogurt or on apple slices. But I use PB2 which is powdered peanut butter without the fat. It's great in protein shakes and yogurt or sprinkled on bananas or apples. you can add water and make it like peanut butter. It tastes great.
  24. Eat enough protein at your meals and drink enough water between.
