My hubby is my biggest supporter and fan. His love and affection for me has never changed no matter what size I've been. We've been married 26 yrs (27 yrs this June) and I look for the next 27 yrs to be even better than the last.

My husband married me at my thinnest, never complained or showed me less love at my heaviest, and has been supportive and proud during my lap-band journey. I knew the characteristic I needed to see in a man before I married him. Love will get you down the aisle, but support, respect, dedication, and true friendship will be the only thing that keeps it! I've been married for almost 22 years now, there are ups and downs but I've never had to question whether he was going to be standing next to me during the downs!

Thank you so much everyone! I'll definitely add the peppermint tea to my regime. I so appreciate the feedback and support!
Kisha, I do get the shoulder pain as well but only when the gas/bloating gets really bad. I've started taking ibuprofen for the swelling and discomfort and that seems to have helped quite a bit. I take that instead of the pain meds the Dr prescribed and I'm finding it's helping a little better at this stage.

Hi all my buddies!! I was banded 12/21 and Bandster Hell has got me good! To fight it, I eat several small meals through the day. I'll have my shake for Breakfast, a snack at 10:30 - string cheese, lunch at noonish, snack at 2:30, dinner, and snack before 8. I still keep my calories under 1000. I only eat about a cup of food at each meal Protein first and veggies, but it doesn't keep me full like it once did. Im done 18-20 pounds depending on what scale i get on, and im completely stalled! And Im sick! So no exercise for me lately. I know this plateau will pass.
My first fill is on 2/1 so less than 2 weeks. Everyone hang in there, we'll get through this!!

I am a month and 5 days out and seem to go through periods of pure hunger. I had my first fill yesterday and it went smoothly but feel i could of had a little more inserted. I am on liquids today besides having a scoop of yogurt to get my pills down without them getting stuck. I will be glad for soft foods because I am hungry. I hope everyone is doing good and feel free to friend me as I can always use a mentor and other support.

the first month is for basically healing and getting your mind frame in the game...so dont worry about (not losing right now).....follow your dr's guidelines..stick with it no matter what and soon, very soon, you will notice a big difference...you must heal first and the best thing you can do is realize this is a process and not an overnight miracle. ..so just because you can whatever, does not mean you should..still use your allotted amounts.

This isn't going to make you happy, but I'm going to be honest with you.
I am an October bandster with 1-3cc fill still in bandster hell.I really should have had a second 2cc fill, but it has been delayed for a couple wks.
This is a time we have to be strong and remember how badly we want this.
Stick to the bandster rules, work through your hunger by keeping busy. Its about mind over matter right now.
I'm sure all of us were able to diet for a few months in the past, thats what we have to do now. The band will kick in, my Dr promised me.lol. Hang in there!

Well I got my surgery time. It's bright and early and I'm so nervous right now. I hope I made the right decision and I pray everything will go smoothly. I have confidence in my surgeon so I know I'm in good hands.

SnowgirlnTX reacted to 4sweeties in stuck but no fill yet
Went to dr today (well the PA I guess that's who I see instead of surgeon) for my month follow up, and told her what happened. She said she often suggests people try food more than one time before they give up on it, so nothing wrong with me trying it 3 times. She said everyone is different like some can't tolerate asparagus, others can have it daily. She said tuna fish straight from bag/can is more like a dry meat which tends to be more difficult. She said my sore port pain area is ok because for up to 6 weeks it can be sore (but I was worried because it was feeling beter until the stuck episodes- I still hope she's right:)
Good news: I lost 6 more pounds since my last follow up and even though I got stuck, I can move on to solids!!!! Wow, 6 weeks of liquids to mushies, and now I feel like I'm on a new phase of my journey. I'm excited and nervous at the same time:)

SnowgirlnTX reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in stuck but no fill yet
It is entirely possible to get stuck without any fills. Depending on where you band sits, your stomach size, and your band sized you could have a lot of tightness despite having an empty band.
tuna isn't bad, in fact it's very good for you. In fact, unless your doctor or nutritionist tell you not to eat a certain food, nothing is off limits except carbonation. food isn't "bad", it's the amounts of it and frequency we eat it that can be bad.
You may think you were taking small enough bites, chewing enough, and eating slow enough but it's possible as a newly banded person you're not quite there yet. My nutritionist suggested bites be the size of my fingernail. Yes, that small. She also suggested actually putting the fork down and waiting a moment between bites. Perhaps you could try this and see if it helps you too?
Hang in there, it's a learning experience but you'll get used to it

SnowgirlnTX reacted to J_Rob in How do you feel 5 days after surgery?
To be honest the pain threshold varies from person to person. If anything you will feel tired and you won't be able to eat anything at the party. Your stomach is still healing.
When I had surgery I got winded very easily. It was hard for me to walk to long. I remember taking a trip to the store with my husband was horrible. My stomach was all bloated and puffy from surgery and just walking around the store was making me sooo tired and winded, you would think I just ran 10 miles, it took me forever to walk anywhere. When I would get home I would take a nap.
It would be best to take it easy and heal. There will be plenty of birthdays and I am sure your friends will understand. It's really important to heal properly to avoid potential complications.

My stuck feeling feels like a knife jabbing my sternum...between my breasts above stomach. It hurts but not like you will die. I have the deer in headlights look when it happens...but you will learn your body responses and subtle hints it can happen.
