My hubby is my biggest supporter and fan. His love and affection for me has never changed no matter what size I've been. We've been married 26 yrs (27 yrs this June) and I look for the next 27 yrs to be even better than the last.

Hi GmasDolly, I had my band placed on 12/27 and the things that really helped me were the heating pad, hot tea and gax-x strips. I also found that laying on my left side was very helpful. Good luck with your recovery.

stuck but no fill yet

I also wanted to recommend the tuna in the pouches with balsamic vinegrette. It's my favorite. My grocer also carries one with a lemon seasoning. I'm not a big tuna fish kinda gal but these two are really good and very moist. -
How do you feel 5 days after surgery?
SnowgirlnTX replied to Hope2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope, I had a similar circumstance. We had a birthday party 4 days after my surgery. We went but left about an hour later. I was just so uncomfortable. The incisions were not the issue, it was the bloating that made me so uncomfortable. I could hardly stand to have my jeans and bra on that long. -
I've been feeling a lot of chest pain and I'm not sure what's causing it. It seems to be more severe when I've not eaten. It feels like something is sticking me. A little concerned. I see my doctor tomorrow for my first fill so I'm hopeful all is well.

December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
SnowgirlnTX replied to LadyLeigh2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi December Banders, I had my band placed on 12/27 and all has been fairly good. The last few days I've been feeling chest pains. It seems to get worse when I'm hungry. It feels like a sharp pain that comes and goes. It helps to sip water and then when I eat it does subside for awhile. I'm still eating mainly mushies. I go tomorrow for my first fill. Any suggestions? I've been SO paranoid that I might do something to cause my band to slip. I hate that constant worry. -
BRA PROBLEM!!
SnowgirlnTX replied to SkinnyCubanChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My bra also drives me crazy now. I do the very same thing...take it off as soon as I get home. It feels like my breasts put a ton of pressure on my sternum area...very uncomfortable. -
List of cant do's
SnowgirlnTX replied to healthylifestyle4me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This post made me smile! Love your sense of humor. I work out of my home so there was not an office to go back to...necessarily. I can honestly say I'm just now feeling more "back to normal" and I had my surgery on 12/27. It wasn't the driving or the not lifting heavy things...or even the eating restrictions. I think I've handled those things fairly well. For me, it's been the bloating discomfort that has been the challenge. I highly recommend keeping a box of Gas-X strips in your purse. -
Post Op Hunger!!
SnowgirlnTX replied to Desotogirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Desotogirl, I'm with you. I'm only 7 days post-op, had the band placed on 12/27/12. I just started mushies today and was thrilled! Hang in there! -
Hi All, I'm thrilled to have found this site. I've never blogged before but thought this would be a great way to track this journey. I had my band placed on Thursday, 12/27/12. Starting the New Year with a New Journey! The first day was the hardest. I was extremely uncomfortable. Since then, every day has gotten better and better. I'm moving around much easier, taking short 5 minute walks several times a day and even fixed my family dinner tonight. The thing that has been the biggest challenge is the bloating. It's been the biggest struggle and I'm still not quite sure how to combat it. I've tried a number of things including walking, hot tea and the heating pad but it seems no matter what I put in my mouth (liquids at this point) I blow up like a balloon. I would be so thankful for any of you that could give me some suggestions of things that helped you! I'm confident (and hopeful) that this will only last for a short time but the quicker I can deal with this, the better.

Just 4 days Post-Op
SnowgirlnTX replied to SnowgirlnTX's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you so much everyone! I'll definitely add the peppermint tea to my regime. I so appreciate the feedback and support! Kisha, I do get the shoulder pain as well but only when the gas/bloating gets really bad. I've started taking ibuprofen for the swelling and discomfort and that seems to have helped quite a bit. I take that instead of the pain meds the Dr prescribed and I'm finding it's helping a little better at this stage.
