  4. I work for the State so I sit all day at my desk as well 8 - 5 so I took off for one week but I had a little issues with the pain in my left should and ended up taking off a total of 8 working days. After the surgery MAKE SURE TO TAKE YOUR GAS-X AND WALK AROUND!! Trust me -- it helps. Good Luck

  7. Yes, post op. I do have some struggle. Biggest thing for me is that I have the left shoulder pain that about 1% of people get and I still have it. That is the only thing that I complain about now. I've gotten used to the long needle that is used to insert the fluid into the band. I thought I was going to faint when I seen it the first time! Lol But overall everything is going good. I just know now that I cannot let myself get to hungry because that is when you eat to fast and getting your food stuck, which only happened once for me, is not fun. :/ One thing that I tell people is that is TRULY a lifestyle change and if a person is not going to be dedicated to it - - dont waste the time. Having supportive people, friends included, will make your recovery and journey smooth and worthwhile.

  9. For me, I do one scrammbled egg with 3 slices of avocado or 1/2 c of refried Beans. The calories are a little higher but it will last me longer than a shake or a yogurt. Plus I log all my calories on "My Fitness Pal" to make sure that I don't go over. Good Luck!
  10. Not nervous but excited! I will tell you this, its something to get used to. I just had my 3rd fill yesterday and I still get a little nervous too but the needle is the only bad part. Good Luck!!

  13. He is right...it will take about a month before you can get back into a gym. I am at my 60th day and I still cannot do sit ups or any ab machines but I am on the elliptical, treadmill, and weights daily.
  14. Good Luck...you'll do great. I am at my 60th day.

Glad that your mom is doing so much better now!!
  20. Is the Acupuncture helping? I might consider that as well.
  21. Ok - I didn't consider that it was possibly a feeling when I get full because that is when it so bad, right after I eat. Thank you!!
  22. I guess I really cannot call this problem a complication but an irritation. I had my surgery on 12/27/12 and since then I have been experiencing left shoulder pain - sometimes it is so unbearable. My recovery period was horrible becuase of this pain. There are days where I can deal with it and there are days I am laying in the bed like a log because of the pain. I am taking the Gas-X and liquid Motrin to help with the inflammation. I've read in the book that was given to me by my surgeon that there could be the shoulder pain and I've accepted that but when does it go AWAY?? I am pleased with my weight loss so again I really can't say it a true complication. I just got my second fill this past Monday and was told to go buy Charcoal pills....Can I get some thoughts about this please?!
  23. Hi there - I had my surgery on the same day and I am doing ok but struggling with the pain in my shoulder. Do you have the same issue?
