Memory
I went to my LB support group last night and someone shared what a friend who had WLS had done. He mounted a whiteboard in his garage and kept a list of all of his victories (NSV and SV), of all the goals that he had accomplished on that board where he could see it every time he got in or out of his car. I think I may try and come up with something similar. Thanks for all your kind words.

Uhh already getting frustrated
Two things that are factors in my life: 1. Logging and counting calories. 2. Heavy exercise throws my body into weight loss fits. It dramatically increases my hunger, and as my body repairs and builds muscle it retains large amounts of Water and the scale goes nuts. I counter #2 with the knowledge gained from #1. A pound of fat contains 3500 calories, if I know what I am eating, and I know what I am burning, the the wild fluctuations in the scale become more bearable. For instance, I have showed a gain the last three days, yet I have maintained a calorie deficit of 1300 calories, but my spin class been kicking my butt, and i have walked out of there on legs of jelly. So, are my weight gains real? Nope, not possible and the scale will catch up with reality in a couple of days.

Help I start my 3 week liquid diet Thursday
Jenn, yes you CAN do it. Others before you have done it, and so can you. Keep your eye on the prize, focus on where you want to be and it will happen. My LB nurse told me that the pre-op diet had two goals: 1. Shrink your liver. 2. Make you thankful for you band. Believe me, you will be thankful.

Memory
I remember during my undergrad studies in Psychology reading a paper that talked about people who were addicted to gambling and a peculiar memory trait that only allowed them to remember the times that they won. This caused them to constantly misjudge the odds when placing a bet, because the were overly optimistic about their chances. I think that we who are fat have a similar trait, but in reverse. We only remember the times that we have failed in our journey to be fit, and so when there is temptation, when there are rough spots we err by forgetting all the scale victories, all the nsvs, all the times that we beat temptation and made a right choice and we only remember the times when we failed. So we believe that failure is inevitable and give in. Today has been a hard day for me, I am experiencing a bit of bandster hell, combined with a generous portion of head hunger and emotional eating and the only thing I can think about is why bother, I am just going to fail anyhow. No, I haven't given in to those voices, but I have had one NSV after another this last week, I am within 4 pounds being at the lowest weight I have been at since I was a freshman in high school, and yet my failures are the memories parade before me today. One of the things that the people of the Old Testament did when God did something spectacular in their lives was they built a marker, a pile of stones to remind them of the victory that had happened in that place. I think I need to start building some markers in my life so that I can concentrate on the victories, and not the defeats.

Removal of the cloak
Welcome to the family, the mental part of this is by far the hardest part. The good news? Others have come before you, with the same issues and problems and used the band as a tool to bring them back to a life worth living. Stick around there is a vast store of experience and wisdom on this board that will help you succeed.

lapband family and zeal wellness
Sorry, I have to agree with them. Multi level marketing of a diet program on a forum for WLS seems like advertising to me. No hard feelings, but I got banded because I had tried all the diet programs and they didn't work. Peace

Cod Parmesan (Kinda)
Not a big fish fan, but I found some wild pacific cod and picked it up. Trying to figure out how to cook it, I bought some Italian Bread crumbs, dipped the Cod in milk, coated them with bread crumbs, then put the fillets into a hot pan with Olive oil and crushed garlic. Cooked the fish until it was opaque (turning half way through, opened a bottle of Marinara sauce (Spaghetti sauce to the heathens), poured a generous helping of that over the fish, topped it with part skim mozzarella and let it simmer for about 5 minutes covered. Should work with any mild white fish.

Any suggestions to curb emotional eating?
If I might ask, why only one fill in that time?

Awkward question
Yes, you are the only one

Awkward question
ummm... Before I can answer your question, you need to define which times are appropriate to experience gas and which times aren't.

Jen, if you fill in your profile, it will help the people on the forum know where you are in the journey and give you better advice.

Personal Messages
Actually, this is a good bit of advice whether you can delete them or not. BTW, if you do delete them on your end, they show that they have been deleted on the other person's side, even though they still have access to them. So be careful, you might upset your stalker.

what can i do to increase weightloss
Eat less, move more. Focus on protein and complex carbs to help satisfy hunger. Food logs and counting calories are key for me.

For those of you who drink or want to drink coffee
When i Pastored a church in Salt Lake City, I had a member who was a truck driver and every time he made a run to the South, he would bring me back a brick of that coffee, it was the blackest stuff I had ever seen, and smelled great. He said the whole town where it was made smelled the same way.
