And the journey continues...
I had my second fill today, the nurse added 1.5 to my 10 cc band bringing my total up to 2.5. Same little ache in the band area after fill, which quickly fades. So, liquids today, mushies tomorrow and solids on Sunday. I have been adding some processed foods back in to try and combat the cravings. Taquitos the other night, and pizza last night. Some things lose their allure when I choose to eat them (taquitos), some things are still trigger foods (pizza), none of them satisfy and curb my hunger like non-processed nourishment. Well, I guess I will just have to sacrifice and eat more ribeyes.

weight loss tattoos
I am thinking of a target or crosshairs over my port just to give my LB nurse a laugh. I figure when I get the excess skin removed, it would get taken off as well.

Nauseous
I had minor nausea when moving to solids, I used the meds the Dr. gave me. But also checked with the nurse. It cleared up fairly quickly.

CRAZY RESTRICTION AT 6.4 CC
What does your Doctor say?

Is anyone finding they are exhausted after exercising?
And it will long term, but the carbs and Proteins that you have just eaten, are easier for your body to access than the fat stores. Think of it this way, when you are eating something it is easier to grab something out of the fridge and eat rather than going downstairs to the pantry and getting food from there. Plus fat is not the only thing you need, and you don't want it breaking down your muscles to get Protein.

Eating on fill day
No solid food 2 hours before, liquids the rest of the day, then a day of mushies, then back to solid food.

Ran 3.25 miles!!
You are my hero! Keep up the good work.

SO WHEN SHEDDING WEIGHT DO YOU LOOSE THE WEIGHT ALL PARTS OF THE BODY??
I respectfully disagree, every trainer I have worked with has told me that they can help me build muscle in a certain area, but that there is no exercise to remove fat from a specific spot, and I have found that to be true. With that said, people are different, and I am by no means the final word on weight loss

Is anyone finding they are exhausted after exercising?
If you are running a severe calorie deficit like most bandsters, that this may contribute to it. I am doing spin classes that tend to burn between 4-500 calories a session, when I am only eating 1300, that is quite a lot. On spin days, I start hydrating an hour before with electrolytes and right after, class I take a GU energy gel. While this combo costs me 200 calories, I feel much better and I am definitely clearer after exercise. Your car won't run without gas, why would your body?

Some People Are Just Waiting for Your Downfall!!
This is an easy question. It is the same reason that vandals will deface historic sites, the mind set that says if I can't accomplish something worthwhile, I can prove I am better than the builders by destroying what they built". We have been taught to make our selves feel better about our own failures by focusing on (and helping cause) the failure in those around us. This is an attitude that has even seeped into the Church. If you are interested there is a book called "Search for Significance" that discusses this in detail along with suggested courses of action.

4wks tdy & Doing terrible w/ eating
Short term the scale lies. a pound of fat consists of 3500 calories, log everything you eat, everything. Find a BMR calculator and compare what is going in with what is going out. If you are eating more than you are burning you will gain fat, if you are burning more than you are eating you will lose fat. Any other weight changes you see besides that are your body screwing with you. This opinion is the result of my personal observations and a basic knowledge of math and should be taken with a grain of salt...

Check my gallery to see mine, I actually stopped work on a sleeve because I wanted my skin to stabilize first. I will have to think about what I want when I get there.

The world of solid food is scary...
Well, I figured out what to do. I chose to have taquitos for lunch today. No more being bushwhacked, I am allowing myself a little of the old food now and there. I had a couple of hot dogs for lunch yesterday. Funny thing is, I used to love those things and all I could think of while eating them was, why am I eating this crap, it tastes terrible. The taquitos today were very disappointing as well. But the real point is that I took the power these foods had over me by exercising a choice. Thanks for all the input guys, just another day in the journey to be fit.

I know they say no drink w meals, but is 2 oz. too much?
Just my two cents, listen to your Dr., no one else's. He didn't say 2 ounces was ok, he said none. If he had meant two ounces, then my guess is that he would have said that. You are going to find a wide range of Dr.'s instructions on this site, from those who tell their patients that they can have a steak dinner with all the trimmings the day after surgery, to those who want their patients to drink Clear liquids for a month after. All I know is that if something isn't working with my banded life, my surgeon will not give a damn about what I read on this site, he will ask me are you following MY instructions. You trusted the man enough to cut you open and sew a piece of silicone around your stomach, trust him with the after care instructions as well. And if in doubt, ask HIM.

Doc not willing 2/c me
I think you may find that the surgeons are more willing to do fills if you have moved into the area, versus living there and leaving the area for the surgery and only coming to them for fills. I believe my surgeon will accept patients that have moved in from out of area, but will not do fills for people who have lived here and go elsewhere for the surgery. It is like walking into a restaurant with your own ham and eggs and asking to just be charged for cooking them because you can buy them at the supermarket cheaper.

Alcohol
Mine never put a time frame on it. I had Wine at day 22.

Spicy Food
I would love to use more, but unfortunately my wife and girls are native Utahan's, and here spicy is considered using brown sugar on your oatmeal instead of white. But my wife is coming around and can handle medium spicy after 14 years of marriage.

Spicy Food
I remember seeing from my WW days that spicy food tends to satisfy more, and you tend to concentrate more closely on what you are eating. Now, I know that there are a lot of people on this board that consider catsup spicy, but this is like eating with smaller plates, tricking your mind into thinking that what you are eating is more than it is. So, stretch yourself try to spice things up just a little bit (Spicing things up isn't just for the bedroom any more). This mornings breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled 1 ounce diced ham 1/2 c mushrooms sautéed in 1 tsp olive oil 1 oz part skim mozzarella. The hot part, I put a liberal splash of Franks Hot Buffalo Wing sauce, although a tablespoon of crushed red chili peppers would have accomplished the same thing.

First steps
Only you can tell whether it is best for you, pick up alex's "The Big Book of the Lap-Band" to get a comprehensive source for the entire process. As for self pay, I paid 10,975, to have mine done in a surgical center, which covers 12 months of fills and any type of surgical services related to the band.

Introduction
Face it, more people see us with our clothes on, than with our clothes off (I don't think this board is has a high population of strippers or nudists.). The people who see us in the later state usually aren't as concerned with a little loose skin. The only loose skin that really bothers me (at this time) are the neck waddles and I will deal with that when the time comes.
