blenders etc
Hi, Congrats! I use a vitamix works great. My friend has the one you have and it works just fine. pineapple is a little tough for her but all the berries and bananas do well. I bought a bunch of 4 oz portion tupperware containers. (baby section at target, so inexpensive) I shove all my food in there and eat it all! I gave away all my 24 oz portion containers. I also bought metal measuring cups for tablespoon size measurements.

Christmas Eve Dinner-PASS!
Hey Guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!! First off I would like to thank you all for all your advice, opinions and encouragement. I had a wonderful time at my families house and made great choices of food. I am newly banded Dec 4th and tomorrow is my first day of solid foods, but I had text my doctor and he said I could have solids today! My dinner consisted of 1 oz of mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and 4 oz of london broil. Half the family at the table does not know that I had lapband surgery and no one even noticed!! I am usually a 3 plate person at holidays, but I just cut small and ate slowly. There was london broil, pork ribs, corn, sweet potatoe marshmellow pie, greek salad, green bean casserole, amazing warm bread and homemade apple pie ala mode (eggnog icecream) My self control now is at its best. Gosh I am so happy I had this surgery!! 29 pounds down as of today!! (since dec 1) I wish I could have had this control before the surgery, but no matter how I got here I am glad I am finally IN CONTROL. I passed on all Desserts, my sister who knows about my surgery, so she made a dessert I don't like on purpose so I wouldn't have to explain why no dessert! Again, I thank each and everyone of you for everything you bring to LBT. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

I just wanna cry
Hi Figgy, I am sorry you feel like crying. It is very upsetting when we do what we are supposed to and the scale doesn't move. Is it perhaps your menstrual cycle time? Having foods with sodium? Not drinking enough Water? Gosh you must feel so frustrated, sorry. How long have you been banded for? I got banded Dec 4 Don't give up. You, me and everyone on here have been through a lot and we are now on the right path with being banded. My doctor told me being banded I would lose approximately 8 lbs per month. So I am going by the month and not by the week. Can you go for a brisk walk and get the oxygen flowing through your body?? Stick with it!! Look through all the success stories, that will brighten your day. Check out FLORIDAYS before and after pictures, totally incredible. Lost 220 lbs in two years......life alternating experience for her and so inspiring to me!! Many many success stories on here. Try to stay positive!! Take care, Irene

Does it ever freak you out?
Hi Peace, Yeah I had that before surgery was performed. I woke up one evening in a sweat.. Since surgery I haven't thought about it. I am just happy I am following doctors orders to the T and not swaying back to old habits etc. If we sit down and think all of the negative things that could happen we would drive outselves crazy! Just think positive!!! Eat what you are supposed to eat and don't rush a thing. This is a great tool to finally get our lives back! I for one can't wait to crossift and play tennis again! WATCH out 2013.....I am coming! LOL

Emeals
I am going to check them out. This is how I lost some weight before my surgery doing the Paleo lifestyle, I am going to go back to it but now with my smaller portions. Before I never obviously watched my portions. http://www.paleoonthego.com/ all natural ingredients delivered to your door! Most meals can be split into 2-3 portions. No gluten, dairy or surgars.

IMPORTANT
Floridays is def someone to take advice from. My gosh 200 pounds so happy for you. How are you recovering right now from TT and BI?
-
IMPORTANT
My surgeon told me at least 3 months for alcohol if I have to have a drink. Red Wine 4 oz portion. What did yours say? How are you doing btw?

I want it but....
Gosh, I wish I didn't wait 20 years to get this done. Year after year saying "This will be the year" Or tomorrow I will start, when I am 30 I will do it, blah blah blah......UGGH. I am sooo glad I did this Dec 4. Already feeling fantastic after 26 pound loss. I can't even begin to imagine how I will be feeling, bouncing off the walls another hundo pounds come this small frame LOL. As far as skin lose it first then deal with that. I know I am going to have hanging skin, but I can have surgery for that and if I kept putting excuses in front of me about sagging skin I would continue to get bigger and bigger till I die! I was 200 when I was 20 and pretty active each decade I kept putting on more and more weight. Hitting a high of 317 ...... If it is possible get the WLS surgery when you can and don't wait any longer!! As AJTEXAS said my only regret is not getting done sooner!!! Good Luck with what ever you decide and keep us posted. This is a great site for information, but always listen to your doctor first. There are so many "veteran" banders on here from 1-10 years of being banded. For me looking at them is so damn inspiring and helps me make good decisions everyday now! Being Obese is hard to deal with so having these fantastic knowledgable people is amazing! (check out Floridays profile, she also just had tummy tuck and breast surgrey the other day after a 200 pound weight loss, if thats not inspiring, I don't know what is!!) There are many many people on here with incredible weight loss stories! Wow, I am getting all emotional here, I am so happy I guess that I know I am going to lose it this time!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! All This is OUR YEAR!!!
