  1. Try a couple of hours of slowly sipping hot liquids, don't overdo it. If it hurts bad enough today to page your Dr do it, otherwise I would do liquids only til tomorrow and call. Please don't wait.

    OMG I'm Sick Before Surgery!

I was sick a week before surgery and called my surgeon. I got an antibiotic 5 days presurgery and had a slight cough the day of, but since they give you IV antibiotics I was 100% the day after surgery, just made sure to do extra breathing exercises to make sure it didn't come back. Don't lose hope!
  3. Hi all, I have a crazy goal. I want to lose a total of 68 lbs by March 11th...thats 3 months from now. I have lost 25 lbs in 5.5 weeks so far, so I have 43 to go. Has anyone done this-and I mean the healthy way-and have a story to tell? My company has a bi-yearly convention so I will be seeing people I have not seen in 2 years and it is in Vegas, so I want to be comfortable on the plane and fit into some shnazzy clothes. I think it's reachable but if there is anyone out there who had made it happen, it would make it that much more attainable for me! Thank you!

    HELP one week since band

What helped me was sipping hot liquids and taking hot showers. It got rid of the throat/neck pain and back/shoulder pain. Like the other ladies have said, in a month or 2 it'll be so worth it this will be just a blip on the radar. Congratulations!

    Im so emotional!

I went through the saaaame thing. So many emotions, it will get better hopefully sooner rather than later
  6. Ohhhh thank goodness. That totally explains it. Sat at my desk at work for 9 hours today-not used to that at all!

    Im so emotional!

Just imagine the joy you will have when you step on the scale and have lost 25 lbs and all the sudden you feel healthier and have more energy. Wait until food and not being able to have all that you want doesn't matter anymore. That will make you wayyyy happier than a pile of Thanksgiving dinner. Believe me I am living it. At first it's like quitting smoking-withdrawl. Then its a nuisance-weighing and measuring and taking vitamins. THEN it's your success. Totally all worth it. You will be great!
  8. All the sudden tonight I am sitting watching TV and I started getting pain where my port is. Bad enough to take the liquid pain meds they sent home with me from the hospital with 5 weeks agao. First time I took any since the day after surgery. Wondering is this a healing phase or do I prossibly have a problem?

How Much Did You Lose In Your First Month?

My suggestion is to go back to liquids for 2-3 days and then to mushies then to solids again, it may be the boost your system needs to restart the burning process. I have lost 25 lbs from Oct 17th til now which is an avg of 3.6lbs a week.
  10. Had my second fill yesterday-too tight, even with chewing everything goes down like its covered in velcro! I can almost hear it like fingernails on a chalkboard eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yikes, going to get a slight unfill in the am thank goodness feels like i swallowed a velcro covered brick lol.

How Often Do You Weigh In?

I am hoping for 2 lbs a week average but I know it gets harder as your weight goes down so I was hoping to pull a couple of months with larger numbers to kick start. I also worry because I had my foot casted so now I can't walk as much so if anyone has ideas to burn calories sitting down (even saying that sounds funny) please let me know! I really want to be successful with this and it is great seeing everyone that has been where I am that is now where they are! All the support is really appreciated! Thank you!
  14. Hi There, I was wondering how often everyone weighs in. I used to be obsessive about it and weigh myself daily. Then I threw the scale away and have only been weighing in at the Dr's office every 2-3 weeks. I am doing everything I am supposed to-no cheating, 1000-1200 cal a day, Protein, veg, then carbs, no drinking with food and only Water or non-cal drinks. I lost 11lbs the first 2 weeks then only 6 lbs the next 2 weeks. I go back to the Dr in 5 days and I am afraid of the scale! I don't know if I should continue to just weigh in at Dr's office or if I should do it at home and only weekly and try not to obsess!!!! Any thoughts?
  15. Had my foot booted yesterday for a chronic condition-not going to let that stop me! I have to be off my feet for 6 weeks, just have to be diligent with my calorie intake and do exercises sitting down!
