lrgandwrg Thanks. Yeah i do exercise alot. Mostly walking and riding my bike. I go to the gym and do 45 minutes of cardio prior to work(5:00am work for 6). I walk for my luch break for 30 minutes and me and the wife try to walk for an hour in the evening. My wife thinks I'm obessive, I just want to take advantage of the 1st six month period that everyone says you lose most of your weight. I also try to keep my calories between 750- 850 amd carbs below 60.

    Hello everyone!
I am 9 months out and usually try to post before and afters every month just so I can see how I'm progressing. I have to say this is the best thing I've ever done for me! I'm so blessed to not have had complications as some have and I thank the Lord everyday for this blessing.

Hmm, you are aware that you are not supposed to drink anything while eating, right? I would think "drinking" soup at the same time would be tge same thing.
Regarding bougie sizes, there is a minimal difference between them, and the smallest ones aren't even used any longer due to a higher potential of acid problems or a twisted sleeve.
This might help understand bougie sizes.
Also, keep in mind, that different surgeons operate differently. For example, a surgeon that uses a 32, but sews rather tightly might create a a sleeve that is smaller than another surgeon that uses a 28, but sees very loosely around it.

I feel the same way. I can eat a lot too. I think we all have different hunger and capacities after we are sleeved. I would love to be one of those people that is never hungry and who can hardly get 1 egg down. I sometimes feel as though I wasn't sleeved either. If I really wanted to I could eat horrible fatty foods and gain weight too. I'm just choosing not too. I didn't eat anything more than a few sips of broth in the hospital but by the 5th day I was really hungy all the time and still am. I'm 2 weeks out only. I do understand the people who say they are not satisfied with only 4 oz of food but I stop myself at 4oz so I don't gain weight.

tommyd got a reaction from mariamitani in How do you exercise on 800 calories a day?
I exercise about 2 hours a day. Once in the morning, walk during my 1/2 hour lunch, walk in the evening with the wife, one day a week I add a basketball game in the evening. I'm usually at a negative net calorie everday. I eat about 650-730 calories a day. I know it sounds crazy but I have never lacked energy.

tommyd reacted to terravue in Please Experienced Sleevers: Is this too little food?
I am almost five weeks out and I just talked to my dietician last Friday, she moved me from 1/4 cup of pureed Protein food to 1/4 cup of soft Protein food 3X a day for at least the next 6 weeks. No Snacks, no Protein shakes, no fruits or vegetables unless you can fit a sliver in after the protein. This program never let us have Protein Shakes. My friend who has been wonderfully successful on a different program is two years out on her RnY says that it is too little food and where is the amount of protein I need? I have been stalled and my elimination hasn't been good.
It is tough that all these programs are so different between Doctors and WLS centers.
I am okay with continuing with this program if I will be getting the results I want in this weight loss honeymoon period but I am willing to modify it myself if most people's experience has been different. Even among the other WLS surgery centers in this *** this one has a different more stringent program than the others in it's own system.
I need to make sure I am not starving myself and stalling weight loss as a result or losing muscle not fat.
    yesterday I had:
1/2 hardboiled egg and wedge of laughing cow cheese
1/4 cup of shrimp meat with cocktail sauce
1/4 cup of curry chicken salad
Thank you for your ideas and views on this.

I drank the broth on Clear liquids. We go to a pho restaurant every week. I actually don't eat the noodles and actually don't like them so much anymore as they taste starchy now. I now eat barbecue chicken, drink a little broth and have 1/2 an egg roll. The pho has a lot of salt and I noted that I don't loose if I take in too much salt.

tommyd reacted to moniq22 in Has anyone tried Orange theory fitness?
There's a bunch of studios in lots of states... It's circuit training and it works with your heart rate... I've been doing it for a month and I have to say its a tough workout but I honestly love it and recommend it...
I've never said that before about any workout in my life but I honestly love it
It can be as tough as you want as everyone can push as far as they feel they want to or can take but you don't have to go at the same pace as the rest..
I think most studios have the first class for free so if there's one close to you try it...
They have monitors showing your heart rate so you know on what zone you are and how much more you want to push and the "orange theory" is that if you stay on the orange zone for 12 to 20 mins you go into after burn and keep burning calories for 36 hours..
I always burn around 600 calories per class but I've seen ppl specially guys burn more than 1000 in one hour
Oh and tha orange zone is the hard zone but the good thing about being new to this and not extremely fit is that is actually easier to get there since we get tired and our heart rates raise so easily...
    Has anyone else tried it???

That is so good to hear about your running successes. I feel like we are in this together and your progress is motivating. During my run today, I went about 4 .5 miles at 5.6 mph. Felt great both during and after. However, I noticed that during the first 5 minutes my left hip was giving me a real problem. It eventually went away at about 10 minutes, but it makes me wonder what it is. I have been stretching really well and warming up with a 5 min 4.5 mph jog before starting the run. I do see a chiropractor who worked on my hip yesterday to make it more mobile. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Besides that minor pain, it was a great run and I was getting the "high" around 30 minutes. Since I was still at about 40% perceived effort I decided to play with the speed a little by going up .2 and down .2 for about 5 minutes. Still doing great so I ran for next 10 minutes at 6.0 mph and then came back down to 5.4 mph until the run was over at 45 minutes (did 5 minute cool down and stretches after that). Thanks for the suggestion above to try speed variations in the middle of the run. That worked well.
