  1. So when you have band surgery your pouch is smaller imediately because of the band correct? I know people may or may not need fills to get to the "sweet Spot" but while you are healing wouldnt there be a little bit of restriction because your stomache is smaller? Even if you cant really feel it the change has started right? Just want to make sure that I am explaining it right. Sometimes it can be confusing and I dont want to give any wrong information to anyone. I know even when i was off track I could never eat bread or dry meats. Thank you as always
  2. My nurse says the size of your finger tip but that seems a lil big to me.
  3. I cant tell if this a serious thread or not.
  4. What is a prime? Glad you are doing better. Oprah would call it her Ah Ha moment!
  5. I love your list. Do you have a way to email? I would love to print it. If so please send to helyen88@yahoo.com. Thanks so much for sharing!!
  6. You got some really good advice. I also eat a lot of tuna and canned chicken. I also eat a lot of beans whole and refried. Look for low sodium choices. I personally dont like to drink my calories so I only do protein drinks when I have to. I do like the greek yogurt has around 16 in protein. Good Luck and congrats!
  7. Resist the chip!!! Hang in there maybe try to put i tiny tiny bit of salt on your shake? I am not sure that is the best advice. Hopefully someone else will weigh in. You are doing great so hang in there!!! You will always have to conquer cravings. This is just a test!
  8. Take care of yoursef! I agree with walking too. Also make sure you get your Protein in even if you can just take little sips. Congrats and welcome to the rest of your life!
  9. maybe you just need to experiment with some different veggies. Try some fresh with hummus. Revisit. I also drink V8 not because I dont like veggies but I just dont have room to eat as much as I would like.
  10. I have bi polar and take too many meds. I dont think it was a big deal because I had my psych evaluation and letter. Please don't stress out too much about it. It wont help. I have never heard of anyone being delined because of meds either.
  11. i like the boca chicken patties and i agree with trying different ones. Trader joe's usually has a selection. The morningstar crumbles are great in chilli or soup.
  12. I got the band and after a while I did everything wrong from eating very unhealthy and drinking lots of sodas. What you are feeling is not fear of your doctor its guilt. Let it go and see your doctor make sure your band is ok. Then just get back on track. You did it before. You know what to do just do it! I am back on track 3 weeks and down 14.2. You are the only one standing in your way.
  13. Lovethenewme Awesome reply and very educating!
  14. It has been exactly three weeks since my band "resett". I have lost 14.2 lbs and quit smoking. Today I start the next phase which is exercise. I want to thank everyone on here for sharing their knowledge and amazing support. Without you all this would be much harder. Thankyou for never judging me. I want to be a positive example to those who have lost their way and support for those who need it. If I can do it with all my demons and personal battles anyone can!

  16. Toddy is right. The behavior you mention won't go away because the band. It is not a quick or easy fix . I have had band for years and didn't follow the plan. I ate crap and drank sodas and everything else I should not have done. Here I am giving it another try.
  17. Great job taking ownership and finding answers. I ate cottage cheese once and knew it was not anything that could carry me to the next meal When I eat I think bulk. I eat lots of chicken, tuna, beans, veggie burgers. I dont like to drink my calories or use them on bars. I also like veggies and hummus roasted or fresh. Good luck!
  18. The question is can you find a great doctor willing to do the surgery? Also I agree this is not an easy fix and the band wont prevent you from overeating at work. ALso this is a life change for the long haul. Good luck with your decision.
  19. Just wanted to let you know my nutritionist told me not to take them. If you look at the ingredients the first one is not even protein it's water. I would urge anyone taking these to get them approved. She also said for sure your body is not really getting all the protein some listed can't be absorbed by your body and they are nasty tasting. Plus irritated my tongue really bad.
  20. Awesome weightloss! We love success stories on here
  21. you can buy single packs of Nectar at the Vitamanshoppe if you want to try it.
  22. I dont like breakfast foods so I eat what i would normaly eat at lunch or dinner. Sometimes bbq chicken, chilli , veggie burgers or veggies and hummus. You can eat anything you want as long as you follow the rules your doctor gives you. Best of Luck!
  23. I did not have any problems swallowing pills. Please make sure to check with doctor or pharmacist before crushing or cutting any pills. Not all pills can be cut especially. If you are on anything extended release.
  24. i see that warning on almost every supplemment. I think it is to protect their liabililty. I dont think most supplments are fda approved or regulated either.
