Antidepressants And Approval

I just came from the pre-surgery phycologist appointment. Because I listed Zoloft as a medication, I now have to take an hour long test with tons MORE questions. I don't know what to think about this. Is anyone taking antidepressants with the lap band? Could I be denied because of being treated for depression? Thanks for any thoughts.

I've never heard of anyone being denied because of depression. When I had my surgery, I was on Xanax for anxiety and I admitted to being depressed as well. When they asked me why I was depressed I snickered sarcastically and said "I'm a 400 pound, single mother, with MS. Do I really need another reason?"

Despite my sarcasm and honesty, I was approved ;)

I have never heard of anyone being rejected for depression. I have been on anti-depressants for YEARS, and it never came up. Missy... I LOVED your response

I have bi polar and take too many meds. I dont think it was a big deal because I had my psych evaluation and letter. Please don't stress out too much about it. It wont help. I have never heard of anyone being delined because of meds either.
