  1. Before I had Lapband surgery 09/19/13, I was so focused on losing weight and forgot about losing inches. I did not measure myself until 10/13/13. Well, on 11/24/13, I re-measured and have lost a total of 19 inches. Oh what a feeling Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  2. I use to live off LC for lunch but found tuna packets are great if you like tuna and the canned chicken. I boil some eggs to have with it and steamed veggies in a bag. Quick and easy. Hang in there!
  3. Had my 2nd fill Thursday - up to 4.25cc. Not having any problems. Able to eat. What could be causing this? Thanks.
  4. Had my 2nd fill 11/21/13. 2cc's. Up to 4.25. Lost 6 more lbs for a total of 38 lbs Feeling great! Having Thanksgiving with hubby's side of the family which means a lot of food. Having potluck at work Monday, again, a lot of food! Will eat healthy and measure out approximate of 4oz and after eating plan on going walking my 4 miles on Thanksgiving. I walk 30 mins each day at work. I know I will get thru the holidays because I am determined!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
  5. Meat and veggie and measure out approx. 4 oz and have them bring out a take home box for the other.
  6. Know what u mean! Feel like all I'm losing in my but and legs. I walk a lot, but know I'm going to have to add other exercise. BTW congrats!
  7. What is 5 day pouch test?
  8. K, I understand with eating more Protein, comes more gas, and a lot of it!!! I've try Beano, Gas X-extra strength, and it just keeps coming. So miserable during the day, especially at work, Just feel if I could just stick a pin in my gut, it would all go away. But it just sits there, all day, and always worried that "it will happen". I will be walking down the hall or bending over and "Boom"! For all to hear. With all that said, does anyone have any suggestions on what can ease this? I saw something called "Charcoal" at Wal-Mart that's suppose to help and I plan on getting today (will let ya'll know if that works). But if anyone knows of something that actually works, please share.
  9. I'm like JB, the family knows, and I told a couple of coworkers and then my boss of course. If anyone else asks, I'll tell them. Everyone seems to be happy for me, but most importantly is I did this for Me! But I know how some people can be. Hopefully you will only be out a few days, as I had mine on Thursday and was back at work that Tuesday. You are taking a positive leap forward for a better you, physically and mentally. Keep your chin up and remember, this is for YOU, and the one's who don't like it..... well, that is Their problem, not yours
  10. OMGosh I was not expecting all of these responses. This is awesome! Ya'll are Awesome! Thank you sooooo very much. Great ideas and suggestions I will definitely try. Have a Great Day!!!
  11. Okay, I've always loved Jif Peanut Butter. After lapband surgery on 09/19/13, when I finally starting introducing soft and reg foods after the 2 week liquid and 1 week mushie, I would come home from work and eat my 4oz for supper and then find myself feeling hungry an hour or so afterwards. I know this is probably more habit then hunger at night, as I would eat a few times after supper. I tried some greek plain yogurt and added 2 T of PB along with 3 or 4 splenda's with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a tsp of vanilla and I was hooked! Now, instead of coming home and eating the meals I prepared for the week, I eat this yogurt/pb instead because I did not want to overdo it with both, and the yogurt has 15-20 grams of Protein and the pb has 7.. But then lately I've been getting more than 2 T PB and even go back later for more PB or another round before going to bed. Tonight I stopped by the store and got another jar along with sunflower seeds hoping it would help me feel more satisfied. Damn Comfort Food!! When I do eat this, I find some discomfort with the PB as I feel it is sticking, but I continue to eat it because it is soooo good! Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any suggestions on how to get away from this (nightly snacking) would be more than welcome. I need a swift kick in the butt!!! I've lost 32 lbs as of my last dr visit on 10/31/13 and am due form my 2nd fill Nov 21st. I'm afraid I may start putting weight back on.
  12. I was given a measuring cup that is 1/2 cup and told to fill 1/4 cup protein 1/8 veggies and 1/8 carbs (PVC) and to eat protein 1st as it will enable me to stay full longer. Had 1st fill Oct 31-2.25 CC. Hopefully will feel difference when I start back on food. Was also told by nurse to call if I feel I need fill sooner than scheduled. I make my meals every Sunday for the next week. Makes it so much easier.
  13. It was so easy. I love that my surgeon talks to me about how well I'm doing and actually does the fills himself with his nurses help. Excited to see how the band and I will work together:)
  14. Good morning all. Just wanted to see how everyone is doing since there last post. Hope everyone is doing well I go for my first fill on Oct 31st. At my last appointment my Dr told me his goal is to get me where I am not hungry for 6-8 hours at a time. Right now I'm at 2 1/2 - 3 hours, if not sooner, during the day and either drink green tea or water to hold me over, and at night it's like come home, eat my 4 oz, then eat 4 oz yogurt and then maybe 1-2 T peanut butter with choc pudding. I do so good during the day. I think, no I know, that the night time snacking is more comfort than hunger. Any suggestions? Hopefully after my 1st fill I will be better
  15. Sorry about your loss. Hope appt goes well Monday. Please keep us posted.
  16. Congratulations! Thanks so much for sharing!
  17. You're doing great! You've gotten thru 10 days of liquids and have only 3 to go. I think that is pretty awesome! Hang in there. As someone once told me "This too shall pass".
  18. Love the way you presented the cupcake ordeal!! Sorry you had to go thru that, but thank you for sharing. Will make me think twice if I am tempted. Hope you're feeling better.
  19. Congrats and good luck! This site is pretty awesome! Great support and inspirations
  20. Walking around helps a lot.
  21. Started walking on the trail down by the lake that is a couple of miles from the house. I started out walking 2 miles 11 days post op on 9/30/13. I start out slow for about 1/2 mile and build up to a fast walk. I have increased it a mile each week and am now up to 4 miles every other day and have not missed a day. During the week I go after work, so I usually finish up around 6:30, and walk both Sat and Sun on the weekends, which have been great. It kicks my butt, but with my music and the view, there ain't no stopping me!!! -Feeling Blessed
  22. YoYYYYou look great!!! Prayers for your mom. Don't forget to send us wedding pics! It will be here before you know it. Congrats!
