  1. Glad to hear you are doing OK I'm real close by if you need anything
  2. Great News brandi..I hope everything works out for you and you get your band soon
  3. Thanks Betty, Please tell her hello next time you talk to her. 70 lbs is fantastic, she must be drop dead gorgeous because she was gorgeous before. WOW! Impressive. I am so happy for her
  4. Your tell tell sign will bewhen you eat solids, Yes liquids go right through the band. I always had a milkshake from Mcdonalds on the way home from my fill and with it I noticed a difference since it was so thick, but the true test is when you eat solids for the firsttime after a fill.
  5. Kara, I can totally relate, Refired Beans were the best tasting thing after 3 weeks of liquids. They were my main mushy food , I loaded them with melted cheese and hot sauce from Del Taco Yum Yum!
  6. Hmm..I'm different because, I'm wearing different style clothes now, I wearing more make-up now, spending more time on my personal appearance every morning. Enjoying going out more, enjoying cooking more , spending more time with my 3 boys doing things I never did pre band, that is the best difference of all. My husband and boys have all reaped the benefits of my 84 lbs gone forever. Even my dogs get to go on more walks now
  7. Great News Grammi! How soon before you are banded? Grammi is a cute name, it is what my kids called my mother instead of grandma,
  8. Congratulations Mary, Welcome to the start of a new you
  9. I lost 19 lbs before I had my first fill at 9 weeks post op. It is normal to be hungry before you get a fill, and do not get discouraged if the first fill does not take away that hunger completely, sometimes it take 1-3 fills to get to the right spot but every little fill does help.
  10. I love Dark Chocolate, now I wont feel so guilty
  11. HRV, I still have fear and I am 11 motnhs post op..I think it is a normal reaction. Once you have your first fill and the Dr. tells you everything is ok it will give you peace of mind...everytime I go for a check- up or a fill I feel so much better knowingeverything is where it should be
  12. Norma my band piched alot too for the first 3 months, I had it checked under fluoro and it was fine, I hope thisis the case for you too
  13. Thanks for sharing this with us Marie, I will definately say a prayer for Phillip Does this mean Alexandra will now put back the obituary on this site that she removed yesterday? Or does the original person who posted it need to re post it again?
  14. It is true, I got an email alert from Inamed about this, here is thelink for anyone interested They are merging http://ir.inamed.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=90325&p=irol-newsArticle&t=Regular&id=687314&
  15. Hope all goes smoothly for you tomorrow. Good Luck
  16. 3/21 Monday No loss or No gain for me this week
  17. Monday 3/21 181 this morning No loss...No gain this week for me
  18. No Loss...NO gain this week for me stayed the same 181
  19. Teresa this soupssounds delicious, I will have to make it for my son he loves chicken soup. For me personally, I so not do soups, liquid calories... they kill me. I prefer to get my calories in solid form to last longer in my pouch, keep me satisfied longer, but again, thanks for posting it I am going to print this out and make a pot for the family, we have some rain on its way this week, and there is nothing better then homemade soups on a cold rainy day
  20. I had the pain and I still have it from time to time and I am 11 months post op. I actually gas trapped in my tubing or around my port area. I had it so bad the other day, then passed soem gas and it was better. It feels like I have a sideache from running too much, but as I said it comes and goes , my Dr. said it is normal and most likely trapped gas. I tend to believe him since I have been paying real close attention to when I get the pain and when it goes away.
  21. Karen, Marie offers good advice.. did you do 24 hrs of liquids after your PB? The reason I ask is when you PB your esophagus can become swollen giving you more restriction the next time you eat any kinds of solids, if you do not do liquids it can become a vicious cycle. Ortiz always reccomends 24 hours of liquids aftera PB.
  22. When my mother died I placed a heart shaped stone in my yard that reads " Blossom where you are planted" I have a beautiful rose bush I purchased yesterday and will plant it next to the stone in honor of Blossom
  23. I think this is a wonderful idea and I am going to participate. Goin out right now to find me the most beautiful "blossoming" tree and plant it in my yard, I have the perfect place. Thanks Greg and Vera! I too have been sickened by this all day long, Blossom has been on my mind ever since I heard the tragic news.
  24. Oh My godness! This is such a shock. My yeyes arewelling up with tears as I type this. The last time I spoke with Blossom was last week when she was goin in for another fill. I sent her a message asking if she felt any difference, never got a reply. I'm so saddened by all of this . Blossom was a very sweet, kind caring woman and her words and firendship will definately be missed by me on a personal level and on this board. Philip, If you are reading this, just know that you and your family are in my thoughts and I offer my deepest sympathy. Blossom was a wonderful woman! P.S. Marie, thanks for letting us all know.
  25. When I need a salty sweet snack, Jolly TIme makes a mashmallow microwaveable popcorn, that is totally yummy both salty & sweet!
