  1. Great News Penni! Glad your mom is home and on the mend! You are a very good heart Penni! I hope my daughter is as good to me in the years to come as you have been to your mother
  2. Megan you described it beautifully! I would have to say I am between level 3 and level 4 Somedays it is level 3 and somedays it is level 4
  3. It is official, I am now in a size 10 pants What a thril this is for me, I can not remember the last time I wore a size 10. Went shopping yesterday and today and bought 3 pairs size 10 capris The scale has not moved much for me the last month or so but the inches are coming off. So for those of you who are discouraged the scale is not moving, do not fret, your probably losing inches..I'm living proof What I weigh is not as important as how I look & how I feel and right now I'm feeling pretty damn good!!! Just thought I share my fantastic NSV with all of you I LOVE MY BAND!!! 14 lbs to goal :banana
  4. Lady Joe Here is a great link to a site to give you more info on whether or not you need a fill. It is very helpful! http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm
  5. Christina, you seem like you are a tough woman and will not give up without a fight! I hope your insurance approves you Good Luck
  6. Hi & Welcome! Everybodys weght loss is different and at different paces. I had a BMI of 42 , 1 year ago on April 6th and weighed 265 and I have lost 86 lbs, my BMI is not 30.1 . Iam 5'5 It is best that I comapre myself to gastric bypass patients and their weght loss, they lose much faster then us bandsters but we have less complications & down time and less liquid phase, no malabsorption issues and no dumping syndrome and no re routing of our intestines, for me I will take the slower weight loss over all of that anyday! Just my opinion Good Luck to you, June will be here before you know it.

Maybe try replanting it in a bigger pot, they like lots of room,
  8. You will be missed Vera Good Luck on the trial I hope it goes in your favor And huge congrats on the wieght loss, sounds like your new band is being your friend I'm happy for you that you finally have restriction, you have waited a long time for that to happen and have endured enough, glad you are all fixed up!

Is that a Jade plant? I have always called those rubber plants Those thing can grow again just by re cutting a piece off and sticking it in a pot. I have them all over my backyard. I have a really large one and when it gets to big I just cut it down and put the pieces in other pots around my yard.
  10. Babs , if anyone can win this fight, it is surely you..go get em girl!
  11. Donovine. WOW what a fantastic job you have done.. 130 lbs is amazing. You have been so successful and you being Kendra's partner and the two of you supporting eachother, Kendra is destined to be just as successful as you have been, you can guide her through her journey with your knowledge and support. Congratulations to you !!!
  12. Alexandra, I'm speechless! You are beautiful. Amazing how well you have dome with your band, what a transformation. You can see such happiness radiating from within you Unbelieveable! I'am so happy for you!
  13. Hi Kirsten, there is a possibility that you are still swollen. My Dr. has his patients do 3 days of liquids after a fill for that reason.
  14. For me, I have never experienced that " Thanksgiving full" unbutton your pants you want to puke feeling since being banded. I have yet to feel really full, I just feel satisfied, I have distinguished in my head that now Iam eating to live, not living to eat. I do not eat to the point of being uncomfortable any longer, the band lets you know when it is time to stop, I have a full ( not uncomfortable full) signal in the form of an ice cream headache, others get the hiccups or pain in their shoulder or their nose runs. We all have different signals, it is just figuiring it out that takes some time. I have never PBed becasue I ate too much, I have only PBed because I did not chew enough or took too big of a bite or ate the wrong thing like doughy bread.
  15. Great News Patti, your doctor knows best and you paid for his services as hard as it is, you will have plenty of time for fills. If you are losing steadily each week 1-3 lbs then you really do not need a fill, here is a great site on adjustments that will help you http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

Hi Kelscross So glad you came out of lurking mode, I wish you the best with the approval of your insurance. I hope it is not tedious and time comsuming for you, some get approved rather quickly while other " play the gane" with insurance comapnies. Let's hope you do not have to wait too long Let us know what happens !
  17. Congratulations Kendra, Im so happy to hear your surgery went well and you had a pleasant experience in Mexico! I wish you lots of success with your new band
  18. You both look fantastic and so happy, what a great job you both have done. You should be very proud of yourselves Thanks for sharing such great news, you give me hope!
  19. Sensy, I am so happy to hear you did the right thing and acted responsibily in having some fluid removed. You certainly do not want to do damage to yourself or your band regardless of the weight loss. I hope you start feeling back to your normal self and find foods that work well for you with your new current fill level
  20. Monica, my frist fill took a week for me to notice a difference. My second fill was instant and my third fill is fickle, somedays I have too much restriction and other days I have zero restriction, on the days with zero restriction I try and work with my band and my head has to do lots of the work. Let's hope you notice a difference after a few more days. Good Luck
  21. Thanks for the update on Katie, Please send her my best.
  22. Hi Teresa, I just went on Monday to the dentist for the first time since being banded and had the deep cleaning where the go down into your gums to clean. I was fine and had to take no extra precautions, but I will tell you this I was a little nervous of the novacaine wondering if it would go down into my band and make it all numb, sounds silly I know but all & all I had no adverse affects with my new band and Mondays dentist experience, except my teeth are a little sensitve now since they are so clean, I guess all that plaque was a buffer of sorts. Normally the only time an anitbiotic is required prior to dental treatment is when you are at higher risk of infection for example my son who has a suppressed immune system from his cancer has to take massive doses of antibiotics right before the dentist and right after the dentist. You should be fine
  23. I do not take a fiber suplement, but I do consume large ammounts of water every day which helps in my bowel movements not being so strained. I do go alot less but like Nykee have lots more gas then I ever had pre band.
  24. Singing is not something I do very well So I have no input there except I had pain and swelling in my diaphram for 3 weeks after surgery, kept feeling like I had to burp but couldnt get it up and out so that maybe the only thing I can see may prevent a problem in the first few weeks post op But Congratulations to you on your upcoming surgery. You will be one of us in a few days
