Did I make the wrong choice?
Very wise decision, I only weigh once a week if that, the scale should not dictate your success or failures you will have many other successes with your band, just think of all of the other good things that have happend to you since your band. The scale should not dictate your moods, be happy, you have been blessed with a great tool to help you in your wieght loss efforts, and be patient. Patience is key!

Scared Out Of My Freakin' Mind
You are going to be amazed at how easy this surgery is..I was shopping all over town the day after my surgery and did not take anything for pain but liquid tylenol, the worst part is the gas ..so get up and walk as soon as you can once out of recovery..walk the halls of the hospital, it helped me so much! trust me, this is not the easy way out, we have to exercise, we have to eat right, we have to give up certain things like no drinking with meals, we have to eat very slow, chew our food until it is liquified, this is not easy, the band is just a tool to help you to eat less, we still have to do alot of the work, there are ways to eat around the band, we have to be mentally ready for this lifestlye change. Our heads have to do some work...this is not easy, the band just helps us and gives us an edge over other dieters..Dont let anyone tell you this is the easy way out, they have no idea until they are in our shoes. Best of luck to you, try and relax and let the day come, it will be over before you know it and you will be on your way to a happier & healthier new you

Lots Of Questions!!
For me it did not hurt at all, I just took liquid tylenol for pain, needed nothing stronger. I felt so good the next day I was shopping in downtown TJ walking all over the place. Walking is the best medicine for gas pains, as soon as you are out of recovery and not groggy get yourself up and walk the halls, get that gas moving, Walk Walk Walk. I took 1 week off fro mwork, could of went back sooner but since my job requires me to be around food all day long I was not usre mentally how I would handle it being only on liquids, physically I felt fine to go back to work sooner. Hospital stay should just be one night , not many od us stayed more then one night. Best of luck to you next week

Anyone have a slipped band and just live with it?
I have heard this too, that sometimes an unfilled band will help with slippage and the band will go back into place on it's ownwith no fluid...hey it's worth a shot right?

Did I make the wrong choice?
Aimze, you have no fill right? Well If I remember correctly the band was designed ot work at it's best ability with fills. So since you have NO fill, it is quite norma lto have NO weight loss. Like Alex said, in 6 months once you have gotten a few fills, you wil lbe singing a different tune. They key is patience Read this thread, it may help you some http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9148 Hang in there, you will get there you'll see, patience my friend, patience.

Quick & easy recipes.........
Actually it is golden mushroom soup but you can replace it with cream of celery coup, I do this exact same recipe with cream of celery instead of the golden mushroom , it is just as good..just a different color and a different taste but still delicious., this one I reccomend serving over rice though.

First Fill only hours away..........

Having Trubles
For those of us who are tight in the morning ..protein shakes work good.. For me I drink two cups of hot coffee, it seems to open me up a bit, then i eat scrambled eggs with cottage cheese..or scrambled eggs with turkey sausage links..or a veggie omelette..however though I get up at 3:30 am and am at work by 5:00 am and I eat around 9:00 am so I have been up for over 5 hours before I eat. My experience has been that if I eat any kind of cereal or oatmeal..it does me in for the day..the carbs kill me and make me crazy hungry all day long, so I eat no carbs for breakfast , strictly Protein, it keeps my hunger at bay most of the day and keep my pouch full longer.

How long does the gas pain last?
Hi Puddin, First Congrats on your new band! As far as the Gas..everyone is different. Mine lasted for about 2 week but each day it got better and better. Walk Walk Walk, that is the best medicine you can give yourself for the gas..get up and get to walkin, it helps to move it around and get it out! The more you sit around the worse it gets..

- New Here!
Hi Claudia Welcome to LBT Who is doing your surgery in Mexico? You can email Don Mills at Inamed and ask him to email you a list of Dr.'s in your area, then you will have to call each and everyone of them to see if they will take on patients who were banded in Mexico, unfortunately many US docs dont and the ones the do will charge alot more for their services. If you are not planning on going back to MX , I reccomend you get a Dr. lined up to take care of your aftercare prior to leaving for MX, I have seen many who have not done this and have been forced to go back to MX but I have also seen many who went back to MX because the cost of flying back was cheaper then what the US doc was going to charge. Best of Luck to you His email address is Don.Mills@inamed.com - two weeks out and just finding this sight!!!
