  1. Thanks Lisa for the update on Donali..I have been thinking about her all day long! I'm happy to hear she is doing good and her sister is with her.
  2. I went shopping to day for some summer clothes and I have not shopped since being banded 13 weeks ago. I'm the worst about trying on clothes..I absolutely hate it. I usually just go in to the store pick out what I like in the appropriate size 18-20 buy it and leave without ever trying it on. Well today I had to venture into the fitting room becasue of the 31 pounds I've lost. I was so happy to be able to fit into a 16 so I bought 3 pairs of shorts and 2 tops and even a bathing suit . Hubby gave me 100.00 to spend and I spent $100.42 . Felt pretty damn good !
  3. Thank you for sharing your story, many of us here on the board did go to Mexico for our surgeries. I was banded on April 6th just one day before you were. I'm so sorryto hear al lthat you have gone through. Some of us also who went to Mexico have had problems, but none as serious as yours. I wish you all the best.
  4. The band is the best decision I have ever made...For me the gastric bypass was not even an option. Good Luck with your decision
  5. Im a newbie, just banded 13 weeks ago...I have yet to PB and I have had 1 fill so far. I have had a couple of times where I thought I was going to. I did not chew enough or took to big of a bite or ate too fast. ... Michelle
  6. C- I left my frist husband becasue of the same reasons, iresponsible, verbally abusive and did nothing around the house to help out. We had a 2 yr old son at the time and I did not want him growing up being just like his dad nor did I want to subject him to all of the fighting and abuse so my son and I left. I felt that if I loved my son and his dad loved him it should not matter if we were married or not and guess what his true colors came out he has not bee na father to his son in 14 years but I met awonderful man who loves my sone like his own I have been married now for 12 years and we have 2 children together. Like you I have only been in 2 serious relationships but there is hope, there is a man out there who will ove and cherish you and your children if you choose this route. Too many people stay in it for the kids. If you are not happy in your marriage how can you make your kids happy? Good luck in your troubles, I've been where you are at ....
  7. Penni I dont blame you for being scared it may open and show its ugly head. Delarlas did the exact same thing and then did pop open and she had tubing protruding from her incision. Are you sure that is normal? Just curious? since you and Delarla had the same surgeon. Have you gone to Dr. Billy yet to ask him if it is normal? Be careful, that makes me nervous for you!
  8. I'm like Vera, I dring until about 3-5 minutes before I eat ,but I do wait an hour before drinking after a meal.
  9. That is great news Fransesca. I'm so happy to hear nothing was wrong . I'm also an Ortiz patient banded on April 6th. Had my first fill on June 7th 1.1cc's. Just remeber to eat real slow and small bites and chew chew chew, I had an episode last nigt , not a PB but pretty darn close. it is much different with a fill the pre fill, well forme it is anyway
  10. Hi Sandy and welcome aboard This site board is awesome it is full of crazy women. You will get lots of love and support. 139 is fantastic. I dont ever remember weighing in my 130's I must of passed right through it. You are doing great keep it up, you will be at goal in no time
  11. Hey Darcy, glad to hear everything went good for you. Now you are one of the gang "officially"! Rest up, dont overdue it .. Congrats
  12. Yes Donali I too will be thinking of you. You are such an amazing woman. You have been so supportive to all of us here so now it is our turn to show you much love and support. We are all here for you .....and will be with you in spirit every step of the way Friday.
  13. . And the first PB is almost always a complete surprise - it will be after you think you've got it all down, and then one day you'll be in a hurry and eat too fast, or not chew as well as you should, and suddenly your eyes will get big as saucers and you'll freeze - "deer in the headlights" look all over you. Honest. Donali thats exactly how I felt last night when I took a bite of a meatball and either I did not chew it well enough or it was to big of a bite or I ate it too fast..or all of the above I did not actually PB but I froze and my mouth was watering, I was standing over the kitchen sink praying to god it would go down after about 10 minutes it went down PHEW!!! This was the first time I have ever experienced anything to that magnitude. It was so painfil, I had the hiccups and the golf ball pain in my chest I definately had the deer in the headlights look all over me, my hubby didnt know what to do, I could barely talk to tell him what was wrong. After it went down I threw those damn meatballs(2) well 1 and a half in the trash!
  14. Why dont you go buy yourself something in a smaller sizze and use it as a goal to get into , thats what I did. I found the cutest pair of jean Capris that were a 14/16. I started in a 18/20. I can now fit into them 12 weeks later. It was so great to get those things zipped over my fat gut, I didnt even have to lay down on the bed to do it to make my tummy go flat.
  15. Hey Darcy Good Luck tomorrow! Can't wait to hear all about it
  16. Congrats Sunnyone on your surgery. You made the right decision. I always tell my family if I dont take time to take care of me.."me" wont be around to take care of you and with whats going on with your mom you did the right hing by not postponing your surgery, you will see your energy level rise once you start losing weight which will help you with taking care of your mom. I know all to well about terminal cancer. I lost my oldest son to terminal cancer,6 years ago he was 17 yrs old and then my youngest son who is 10 was diagnosed with leukemia at age 4 (he is in remission) . Both my boys had cancer at the exact same time Seems you have a great possitive attitude too..that's half the battle . Good Luck to you
  17. WOW, I was just going to cut and past Jessie's post about the 1/2 a cup of food rule. She seems to be the queen of the band any all those know it alls over there live by her words I just hope and pray those B****** read it and eat crow. Maybe I should start an "apology to Delarla" thread over there and see if I get any replys..what do you think?
  18. Just tell me when and I'm there..
  19. I drink right up until I eat. I do not drink for an hour after eating and do not drink during meals and I have been losing 2 pounds a weeks since my first fill 3 weeks ago. In the beginning I did follow the rule of not drinking 1/2 before eating up until I got my fill. If liquid passes right through then I do not see the reason to wait a 1/2 hour before starting to eat. Besides it's summertime and I'm thirstier!
  20. Lisa how will hubby feel about a bunch of FAT DRUNK women? Which hotel(s) is closes to your house? I think a hotel will be more feasible then a bed and breakfast, I have this feeling we are all going to be prett loud and rowdy and wouldnt want to get kicked out of the bed & breakfast. Adjoining rooms is exactly what we need!
  21. I woke up with a sore throat on Firday morning...now I have a full fledged cold. I was not around anyone who was sick either. There is a summertime flu and cold going around now.
  22. September or October is good for me ...any days of the week Just let me know and I will be there Vegas sounds fun!
  23. I was told by my surgeon to not start exercising until the 6th week post op to make sure I was healed properly. Every surgeon is different though
