  1. WOW!!! Sue you look fabulous. What a difference, you should be proud girlfriend!. I am happy to hear your visit to the Dr. went well. How is your back feeling?
  2. I really need to come here more often. I am so lost as to what has been going on here lately. This new format we use here at LBt gets me all confused. I seem to miss alll the new posts. Lisa kudos to you girl...failure is not a word in my vocabulary either! Nobody here at LBT in my opinion is a failure
  3. if you can not drink without pain how will you be able to eat without pain?? You are too tight my friend, having as little as .2 cc's removed will make a huge difference in being able to eat anddrink without discomfort but still allow you to have good restriction and lose weight. Be a smart bandster..too tight can result in many different things happening. Longevity of your band and your health is most important...weight loss will come.
  4. Hi Miss Jenna, Happy Birthday girlfriend. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
  5. I'm doing OK.. seems to be getting harder and harder to maintain but I'm determined to do it. My size 10-12's are still fitting me. That is a victory. Somedays I struggle and somedays I do great. I stilltry oto think like a bandster and eat like a bandster... my weight fluctuates between 1-3 lbs gain depending on the timne of the month or what I ate the day before from when my band was removed and for it being almost 6 months I am happy
  6. Teresa, my husband has had chronic pain for several years now, he became addicted to the pain pills . But theone thing that works for him now is the fetenal pain patch, it is a slow release narcotic pain patch that does not make you feel stupid like when you take the pain pills, alos has your dad looked into cortizone injections, it has worked wondersfor my husbands pain. He has been seeing a pain management doctor for 6 years now, my husband has degenerated discs in his back and needs surgery but he refuses, he too got into an accident and his line of work does not help matters. Does he have a pain management docotr? If not look into one, they saved my husband .
  7. Once you have your band filled to the right level, your thoughts of food diminish, atleastt hat is how it was for me. Food was not even a thought when I had good restriction, give it some time and a few fills under your belt, it may be the same for you too
  8. I do not see my name on this list so Iam going to assume Jolynn recieved my gift. I have yet to hear if she has or hasnt though....I sent it out last week.
  9. You look great Kathy! Hope you have a wonderful day...Happy Birthday to you
  10. Mine had white lines running through them post op for the first few months I took a nail and hair vitamin and it seemed to work, now they are fine and have stopped taking the vitamin months ago
  11. BigPaul always makes me feel really good about myself. He's funny and silly but really smart right when you need him to be. TellyMelly keeps me motivated on days I think I want to slack and theres always a smile on my face when I'm talking to her, she just keeps me laughing. She brightens my day! Cutiern reminds me of my daughter. I love how she is young, independent, and willing to make financial sacrifices to change her life. Dawg is a great husband. Selfless and supportive. He lives a banded lifestyle, without the band, so that he may succeed along side his wife. Pennie always seems so level-headed and diplomatic. I really admire that. Jack cracks me up with the use of his warped sense of humour in the manner in which he offers practical advice. Humour and practicalilty...great match and I always appreciate his input. (I also like his avatar!!) The best me (Kathy) has one of the most loving and tender hearts I've ever seen. She is always caring and giving to others even when she's needing support for herself. Her love of God and her desire to be a better servant shows in every post. Paula is my sweet Band-daughter and I'm so proud of how genuinely sweet she is and how her caring heart and love of God shows by her actions towards all others Iluvharleys has a good heart and is always so thoughtful, kind and caring always thinking of others in their time of need.
  12. I lost my band due to erosion so all I want to say to you is this...take full advantage of your band and this wonderful tool you have been so fortunate to have, losing my band has made keeping this weight off a struggle, I sure would hate to see you lose your bandand then not have the tool to help you to lose weight. Use it wisely, do not abuse it..I am lucky to have not put any weight on in the last 5 months but it is a hell of a battle.
  13. I'm so happy for you, I remember theday when I met that goal..it is an increbidle feeling..you have done so awesomewith your band..Be proud my friend BIG CONGRATS !!!
  14. riccotta cheese and peanut butter mixed together was one of my main mushy foods, it tastes great mixed together almost like a cheesecake and it it great for curbing the sweet tooth.
  15. Iam bandless and have been for 5 months now, it is a struggle, but I am winning the battle. I have not put on any weight yet...I feel I am in control for the first in my life without the aid of a tool such as my band was to me. I do obsess about what Iam eating it is in the forfront of my mind every waking moment. I do not want to go back to where I was pre band...I sitll try to follow the bandster rules...for me it is a matter of " am I hungry or do I just think I am hungry" I ask my self this question everytime I got to put food in my mouth and honestly there are times I start to eat becasue of boredom then I stop myself..I go to pick at something then I stop myself , asking the question before I begin to eat really helps me..I enjoy wearing my size 10 -12 jeans way to much to gain back this weight  I got some wicked cute clothes these days and Iam loving all the attention I get which is another motivating factor to me and of course my OCD.
  16. tell your husnad this, that if I did not have this board and all of its support and kindness I have recieved over the last 2 years I would never of been as successful as I have been, no doubt in my mind...this board rocks! and so do the people here :grouphug:..support has been key to my success
  17. La_madam replied to a post in a topic in The Lounge
great idea..my motto in life has always been " be an Angel. practice random acts of kindness.. I am in this challenge for sure
  18. Nana, I know for me when I was completely unfilled for 2 months I was at 2.5 cc's before my unfill..then when I went in for my fill there was no way I could go past 1.5 cc's. I asked why before my unfill I had 2.5 and then with the refill I could only handle 1.5. My Dr. said this happens alot, things shift and move around etc.., he said he rarely sees ap atient who had an unfill be able to go back the their original fill level when they refill. ...I am glad to see this is working for you now, sounds like you had quite an ordeal :grouphug:
  19. Thanks everyone for the warm birthday wishes....today is the big 40..two years ago on APril 6th my surgery date I told myself I wanted to be fit at 40 not fat at40...I may not be fit but I know I am certainly NOT fat! I did it! You all are the best, thanks for the years of love and support. You are all very special to me :bananadoggywow:
  20. Shana this is weird you mention this..I have the same swolloen vein in my wrist since my band removal, it ia very noticable and my band removal was in Nov 2005..I am having it checked out next week with my PCP
  21. Honestly I have not made it back down to MX to have my Dr. address this problem but I do have an appointment scheduled for another scope with my PCP next week. I do not know for sure it any of this is related to my band or it's erosion all I know is ever since my band removal my stomach has never been the same...always in pain...but I tell you what, having my band and getting my life back and losing 100+ lbs was worth the pain I suffer from now.
  22. Never heard of Cantu..I had my surgery in MX and he was never a name I came across during my research on MX docs.
  23. My band eroded in Noember 2005. I have cramps and stomach pain daily, a weird gurgling noise, my bowels are not the same either. Can't explain the pain, it is not like a normal stomach ache like you have to go to the bathroom. I live with it daily. During the 18 months I had my band I never had one single stomach ache or pain other then my bowel obstruction. I NEVER drank carbonation or took any NSAIDS while banded not one single time and have not done so yet , still no carbonation or NSAIDS for me
  24. my stomach has never been the same since my band eroded...
