  1. They just started the airbrush tanning at my tanning salon, it looks great. They can make you look like you have ribbed abs and definition in your arms and more cleavage etc...much different then the mystic tan. Good Luck, it is the new up and coming fad right now especially in Hollywood!
  2. Any woman who pretends to want to help so many women like she claims to do on the View but yet still refuses to answer the question on how she lost her weight is a hypocrite in my book! By Bye Star is right!
  3. Did either of you women have your gallbladdre checked out, sounds like gallbladder attacks which is common among those of us who lose weight rapidly. Have they done an endoscopy, this is the true test to see if it is the band.

Sounds like reflux, a slight unfill will help, some docotors require a complete unfill for a couple of weeks. Definately get in touch with your Dr. and tel lhim of this issue. Reflux is not good for the longevity of the band.
  5. one thing you are doing wrong is eatingf solids again too soon after a sliming or vomiting episode. Most doctors want you to do 24 hours of liquids after this happens, the reason you could be continuing to vomit every time you eat is you are more then likely swollen, this is why the 24 hrs of liquids is important, you need to rest your esophagus. Continuing to eat only will cause a vicious cycle, eat vomit eat vomit, try a day of liquids only to give things a rest...good luck
  6. Penni any update on Christina? She has been on my mind.
  7. I ride my stationary bike every night anywhere from 6-12 miles a day, it is what is saving me from gaining weght without my band. I put on my i-pod and a baseball game in my room and I ride ride ride...
  8. I was a very successful bandster all the while drinking milk!
  9. Penni, Please send Christina my best. Iam sorry to hear of this! What a shock!
  10. Get yourself a "balance gold bar", it is loaded with protein and it tatses as good as chocolate, try the triple chocolate one or the chocolate peanut butter one it is what I like to eat when I am craving the chocolate , this way I do not feel guilty and I got in some protein.
  11. If you were going by the rules my Dr. gave me then YES it would be cheating but every Dr. has different rules and post op diets to follow.
  12. Oh I tried the best of the best self tanners "Clarins" 40.00 a bottle, and the cheap ones too it looked great in the beginning but then found I looked Orange ...totally fake looking to me.. For all my 15+ years of using tanning beds , I see a dermatoligist regurlarly every 6 months and strip down naked and have her examine every inch of me..so far so good I feel happier and healthier with a tan and 100 lbs lighter I know I look better with a tan
  13. I am a professional tanner, I have been using tanning beds for many many years with and without my band, never had a problem when I had my band. Just use little sunscreen over the scars or they will be darker then the rest of you. My motto was always tan fat always looks better then white fat!
  14. I like my cottage cheese with rasberry Jam or mixed with peach yogurt. It is also good mixed with some spaghetti sauce w/ salt and pepper another favorite is to mix it with some soft scrambled eggs and salt and pepper.
  15. Ok guys I am bumping this cause I started my weekly scale challenge again this past Monday. I am here trying to live like a bandster even though I am flying solo and I need the help and support of all of you. I have gained 3 lbs in the 7 months since I have been solo.. Whoever wants to join me in getting this scale challenge going again I would appreciate it!

  17. You may be losing a friend in food but you will be getting your life back and your family will appreciate you so much more. I felt like you did in the beginning but the rewards from my weight loss out weigh any feeling I have towards the loss of food. My husband and kids have benefited so much from my band. Iam a better mother a better wife and an all around happier person.
  18. Sounds like reflux to me , you may be a tad too tight. having as little as .2 cc's removed can make a world of difference for you. Call your Dr.
  19. We need a spell check button here..
  20. Girls Girls Girls, you both sound too tight to me, you both need a slight unfil, the band was not designed to live on liquids alone, read your lap band handbook, it clearly states if you are living on liquids you are too tight. the reason you feel like crap is you are most likely dehydrated and not getting any Protein which oinly makes you lose lean muscle mass and not fat. Protein is key to losing fat, not enough of it only reslults in loss of lean muscle mass which results in flab. Also having a band too tight can lead to many other things like slippage, esophagitis, reflux, none of these are good for the longevity of your band, both of you need to be responsible bandsters and call your Dr's, this is not a race, it is a journey the band is a lifelong tool use it wisely. I can guarantee you both that if you called your Dr's and told then what you are telling us they both would say get in for an unfill. Having as little as .2 cc's removed can make the biggest difference in being able to eat solids but yet still lose weight. Giveyouthemoon is right, carbs and sugar only make you crave more carbs and sugar not to mention liquids go right through the band they offer no restriction and the key to the band working right is to eat hard Proteins and keep the pouch full for longer periods of time, liquids and Soups and canned peaches dont do that. Call your Dr. being this tight is not good for you or your band...
  21. If you are having a hard time with mushies then I would have to say you may be a little too tight. You should be able to eat solids without too many problems and you are having problems with mushys. Having as little as .2 cc's removed will make a huge diference in being able to eat solids but yet still have enough restriction to lose weight. Being too tight can cause many problems, be a smart and responsible bandster, call your Dr. and let him know you are PBing on mushys. I know my Dr. would have me come in for a slight unfill if it were me...also you are always tighter in the mornings, try drinking a hot cup of tea or coffee, it should help to open you up a bit...but remember once you throw up or PB you need to do liquids for a day, since PBing can often irritate your esophagus and stoma which can result in another PB the nnext time you eat, the swelling needs to go down before you venture on to food again, I know this first hand, I did not do this with a big PB and continued to eat and continued to PB which gave me a horrible case of esophagitis. It becomes a vicious cycle eat PB swell..eat PB swell, you need to rest things for a day or two with liquids only, this is my Dr.s instructions on a PB and many other Dr.s too. Hang in there it takes time to get used to this new way of life but it is all worth it in the end
  22. My boys have this game an we love it, we do it together all thetime, it is a great work out!
  23. sounds like gastritis to me, I had very similar symptoms and was diagnosed with gastritis.
  24. My main goal right now is keeping off this 100 lbs I lost since I am now flying solo with no band for the last 6 months
