i have pcos and i have done very well with the band..i was banded in oct,and have lost 95 lbs since!!!......BUT...i do vomit a lot,and now im wondering if its because of the pcos and not because of other reasons,like being too tight,which was my first thought!!

his main office is nyu in the city,he only comes to staten island one day a month....since my surgery,ive been afraid that this would happen....i mean,i guess its ok since i am able to drink and it seems like i can tolerate yogurt in the morn and a light light lunch....after that i cant eat anything,even tho i feel like im starving!! and it doesnt matter how slow i eat or how small the bites are either...i just dont know if im too tight or if its normal. my other fills werent like this

thank you guys! i got on the scale this morn and am down 4 lbs from last sunday,so im happy about that!! its just scary because after everything we go through before the surgery,then the surgery and the recovery...it seems unfair that we still have to struggle so much to lose a lb or 2!!

yes i will call. my surgeon is in nyu,which was affected by the hurricane,and still is not up and running!

its weird though,after it happens,if i rest for a few minutes,it goes away and i feel better...could be that im overdoing it,who knows

i bought sugar free chocolate,which im saving for the day when i just need a choc fix!!

hey everyone...so,i took off from work today,traveled to nyu,paid for parking and paid my copay. spent the whole day there,dr stuck a needle in my still healing port site,to see if there was any liquid in there(there wasnt)...then,he added some liquid and then took it out,to see if something was stuck,if that would loosen it)...no relief...had an esophagram and thank God...no slip and no obstruction!! just really irritated and enflamed from the vomiting.

on clear liquids for the next 2 days,then mushies.

i came home,had some water,and slept for 3 hrs,im having chicken broth now...my throat still feels like its closing,but not nearly as bad as it was yesterday!

also,my whole stomach is sooo sore,like it was after surgery!!

i swear,i am never touching red meat again!!!!

this whole episode scared the crap outta me!!! lesson learned!

yes it was my reg doctor i spoke to,who has the lapband.ive been calling my surgeon since 7am,not open yet.

i feel like it is stuck right in my throat.

i swear,i am never eating any kind of meat again after this!!!!!

i was banded on oct5,and am going back to work on oct16....and i am so worried that i wont be able to make it through the day!!!

yea it never crossed my mind to ask doc about taking water pills after surgery...honestly,my legs and feet have been so swollen for so many yrs,that i just assumed that i would always need them!! since the surgery,i can finally see the bones in my feet...lol

i am sure that once i return to reg foods,that i will need them again...but thats a question i will be sure to ask at my post op appt

thanks guys...i did call doctor this morning....before surgery,i was on 2 water pills,and noone told me not to take them after surgery....i think i was dehydrated.

doc told me not to take the water pills,and ive been drinking gaterade and plenty of water today and i feel much much better!!!

thank God its better!!!

i think people that see you on a daily basis arent going to notice your weight loss as much as someone you havent seen in awhile.....ive lost 14 lbs on my pre op diet....i havent been able to take my wedding ring off in 5 yrs and it came off easily today....so im expecting everyone to notice my weight loss!! lol only 2 people commented on it....so i decided...as long as i can see the difference(on the scale,by the feel of my clothes,by measuring)...who cares what others notice?

most people are too selfish and wrapped up in their own world anyway....and i think thats why most people dont notice....lol

hoping to get in to see the doctor tomorrow....that gives me 5 days to get better

i cant wait for the day that i can walk into a regular clothing store and buy something off the rack!!!! lol
