Questions to ask yourself.......
Am I losing inches? (clothes looser) Often times with an increase in working out you will not lose or even gain, but you will actually get smaller. You will have increase your muscle tone, muscle weight about what fat weighs but takes up less space so you body actually is smaller, but your weight doesn't show it.
Am I sticking to my alotted amounts? This can be a hard thing, but remember if you don't you can cause band problems and you don't want that.
Am I eating Protein and healthy foods? You can be eating less but still be eating junk. Good lean Proteins, complex carbs, veggies, and fruit. These will help to stay full longer and lead to not wanting a snack.< /p>
What is my salt intake? Salt can cause Water retention which weighs a lot more than you think.
What is your Water intake? Water helps flush out the salt and keep your body hydrated. While it sounds odd that more water will create less water retention it does. The excess water you take in flushes your cells and your body feels like it can let go of the excess because you aren't going to dehydrate it.

Starshine33 reacted to Chrissy-Chris in When did your toughest weight loss plateau occur?
I am in my plateau right now. I have only been banded for 2 months. I did really well the 1st month with a 27 lb lost, and in the last month have only lost 1 lb. However, I am trying not to feel to discouraged. I know everybody is going to hit a plateau at sometime, and probably more than once on their weight loss journey. I just look at it as being part of the deal.

Starshine33 reacted to kah1213 in 50 lbs down pics!
Hi guys. I'm down 50lbs with 20-30 more to go. I thought I'd post some progress pics. Recently I finally had a few people at work notice my loss, which felt great. I usually wear flowy, oversized clothes and 1 coworker told me to start wearing clothes that fit. Lol.

Starshine33 reacted to his_spirit in Bras
I bought bras that were too small in the band and used an extension. I need a lot of support and found the more inexpensive bras didn't have enough for me. The extender made them fit for quite a while.

What I love the most:
2 years free fills
Anything goes wrong in two years, surgery 100% paid
Full gym membership for $20 a month with the Doctor three times a week plus
Zumba classes
Each fill you see a nurse, a nutritionist, plus the doctor
They offer different monthly classes, like scrap booking before and after results.
We get emails directly from the doctor with great healthy recipes twice a week.
These are just a few things that makes Dr. Curry and his staff wonderful and very caring.

This sort of treatment should be reported to someone.. Might you be able to find another band dr who might take you and give you the support you need? -

Thank you everyone for the replys and advice!
I talked with the nutritionist and she gave me the same advice, stay hydrated and protein! So I'm working hard to get that all in. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was turned off of food. It feels like a two week hang over, when ever I hear the word "eggs" it makes me want to gag lol.
Hahaha and it's making me "feel" nuts.. Haven't ate any
Thanks again!

Hello everyone well it's over, I am back home now resting in bed and walk around my place by far the gas is the biggest problem but walking to seems to help a lot. now that the gas its subsiding a little bit I can feel the port and it cuts now. If anybody is wondering this reminds me of doing way too many sit ups then a couple days after that. so far sipping broth and clear liquids is plenty. Take care everyone I'll try to update later today, I hope everyone is doing well.God bless.

Starshine33 got a reaction from DesertRose80 in Guidance Needed
Your not even suppose to worry about weight loss while your healing. You have a 4-6 wk for healing. Don't focus on your weight loss yet, it will come. Like they said above also told by my doc, you normally lose 1-2 lbs a week. Your doing great!!!

Starshine33 reacted to FLORIDAYS in I Cheated Death!!
I am sorry you had this experience but I don't believe you can die from getting stuck. It doesn't block the air flow I don't think. Of course I am not a dr. I would hate for new bandsters thinking about getting banded to get scared off by the dramatic scenario you portray. That said I would be more focused on eating 3 balanced meals so you aren't so hungry in the middle if the night you resort to rummaging thru the fridge for food. You may want to speak to your dr about getting in the green zone.

Starshine33 reacted to Toddy in I Cheated Death!!
The title of your post is VERY attention-grabbing!! I would say the vast majority of bandsters have had stuck episodes, and while they're not fun, they are not life-threatening. I just wanted to post that for newbies or those considering the band, in case they took your post literally. I'm sure you know, but I want to let others know, that you should avoid foods that will get stuck, but if you do have a stuck episode, you will not die.
