I am NO WHERE NEAR where you are physically, and I am only seven weeks post-op, but I just had the same thing happen. My nutritionist at first wanted me to hit about 800 calories a day. I just saw her last night and we talked about my excercise routine. I told her I've been walking 2 miles 5 days a week and had just started some weights. She said that my body literally needed more fuel, and wants me to consume 1100 calories a day now. When I told her that number scared me, she said that she was afraid of me continuing to exercise on 800 calories a day and not having enough fuel for my body to replenish itself. So that's where I am now.
And you are a super-duper-athlete, so I'm sure you need more calories even more than I do!
Awesome job! Right now my goal is to run a 5K in the spring. It will be my first. But you gotta start somewhere!!

i said i cant and i couldnt and how come and why me for so long, i talked myself into thinking i am destined to be super morbid obese......well, i talked that sh** right out of my head and got on with it...i put on my sizeXXXXXXL balloon panties and had WLS, followed the instructions and made myself well..
so instead of saying, what if i cant, what if it dont work and what if i have no support and what if i starve on liquid diet and what if this and what if that,
how about just shutting up.....accept that we must change what we eat/think and let it work...let the band work.....you do your part by helping..
what if it works and you lose weight and get healthy....
what if you get to that goal weight you want
what if you do everything you set out to do.....
i just wanted to walk around the block and be able to push
my granddaughter in her stroller....that is all i wanted..when i started.
if i kept saying what if 16 months ago, id still not be able to do that....

bakers chocolate is half the sugar as regular chocolate. melt some add nuts of your choice, dollop on a cookie sheet cool and than put in freezer bag and put in freezer. enjoy a piece when you just need candy.< /p>

Don't deprive yourself because you'll break and binge. Be honest and eat sparingly. It helps to record what you consume in an app. I think, anyway. Good luck and don't let the season get to ya!
Also 6 weeks is soon for solids, even melty ones like chocolate, be careful!

Dark chocolate chips are good instead of milk chocolate. I usually eat those with some almonds. I don't know where you are food wise but if you can eat regular food it's just as good as eating a candy bar only good for you.

In my early Weight Watchers years, I always remember something one of the leaders said. Something along the lines of that a holiDAY does not have to become a holiMONTH or a holiYEAR. Really stuck with me.

I am an unconventional mom that makes three separate dinners. One for me, one for my daughter who is super picky, and one for my husband and son to share. It just works for us. My kids are both underweight so I do let them eat things like Nutella sandwiches and poptarts, but also try and model a healthy lifestyle for them too. It's a hard balance that's for sure.
Also, I felt deprived growing up because I was the only overweight person in my family so I would have to have my brother ask for chips when I wanted some. Because of that I developed what I call entitlement eating. I gained weight because once I was on my own I felt I was entitled to eat whatever I want, and I suffered the consequences. Because of that I want my kids to have a normal assortment of Snacks in the house to be eaten in moderation so when I am not there they aren't trying to scarf Cookies behind my back.
I'm sure you are doing a fine job with both you and your kids.
    Good luck =)

Today was a big day. We finalized our adoption and the Judge happily signed off on it making it official forever. I'm now the forever father to a precious 5 year old girl. Pretty amazing feeling. Thank you all for your kind words. It truly is one of the best experiences of my life.

I should add that our journey has not been easy. While dealing with DHS had not been bad for us (I've heard some horror stories), bringing someone else into our home has had it's difficult moments. This little girl came from a situation where she literally had to "zone out" to survive so when she moved in with us and she knew she had done something wrong, she would just be dead to the world for hours. There were several issues she had when she first came to us but in the short amount time she has been with us, she has overcome 90% of them. Which is another reason I find inspiration in her, she just continues to move mountains in her life.
As of today, I now have a new dilemma with our adoption situation that my wife and I are praying about. There is another little girl. She's 7. Blonde hair blue eyed angel. Her father has lost his rights and mother will be losing her rights next month and this girl needs a permanent home. I would do and go through everything I went through a hundred times over for my 5 year old but we are trying to decide if we are being called to this 7 year old or if its just our soft hearts and an understanding of what a child has endured that makes us feel drawn to her. Please keep fingers crossed and this blue eyed angel in your prayers.

Sincerely, thank you all for the kind words. I met this little girl last year at Halloween. She was 4 at the time. A big group of us friends all showed up to a neighborhood to take the kids door to door and she was a new kiddoe to the group. As soon as they told me who she was and what her story was I instantly fell in love with her and knew she just had to be mine and added to our family. Well, we made some phone calls and she ended up moving in with us in April. She is 5 years old now and amazes me everyday. She has overcome so much adversity and survived a walk through the gates of hell. Her passion for life and desire to unconditionally love another person is truly inspiring.

OK, I've always had this one pet peeve. It's not loosing weight, it's losing weight. It's not loose weight, it's lose weight. Loose means something is not attached. OK, I'm done.

If you don't feel it, chances are it went through like a piece of food. Try a hot liquid if you are still nervous and of course listen to your body and if you feel like something is wrong contact your surgeon!

Started walking on the trail down by the lake that is a couple of miles from the house. I started out walking 2 miles 11 days post op on 9/30/13. I start out slow for about 1/2 mile and build up to a fast walk. I have increased it a mile each week and am now up to 4 miles every other day and have not missed a day. During the week I go after work, so I usually finish up around 6:30, and walk both Sat and Sun on the weekends, which have been great. It kicks my butt, but with my music and the view, there ain't no stopping me!!! -Feeling Blessed
