I am 57. I had a lap band placed at 49, and now waiting for insurance approval for revision to rny. Wish I had done the rny to begin with and I would have enjoyed these last seven years a whole lot more,

Hoping I get a surgery date today, got insurance approval on Friday.
I have wasted a lot of years feeling bad, hoping I have a few good years left.

hope you find some way that you like it. i use it yogurt and cottage cheese but i make this crazy concoction with sugar free fat free instant pudding mixed into it too so i don't taste it at all.
i have put it in applesauce and you do kinda know it is there
when you can have refried Beans, heat those to 130 or so and then add a scoop of that in there and I bet you won't taste it and wow that would be some Protein there.

Ok guys, I just need to clarify a few things. Some people have sent me emails "grouching" at me for not responding. I to have a full time job, a part time job and a family with sons that are in every sport possible. I try VERY HARD to respond to everyone as soon as I can. This program is fun, it's a way for us to connect and support each other on a different level. I love what it is doing and the fun that most everyone is having! I'm proud of how large our group has gotten!
I will get back to everyone that emails. As far as participating, if toy show interest after the 5th of every month you will be notified the following month. It is far to hard to try to fit everyone in after I have sent out names.
A few people have decided to go out on their own, that's fine with me but please start your own thread on here. If you are emailing someone directly without me giving you an email address, I can not and will not be responsible in any way shape or form.
I want this to be a fun and enjoyable program for all. I don't want the old saying "a few bad apples ruins the bunch" to become true of this program!

Thank you Vicki!!!!! I received my wonderful package today when I got home. It had so many thing that I've never tried but heard about. Thank you so very much Vicki.... I'm so excited to try all these wonderful new foods! Oh and those homemade wash clothes are adorable...

It was like Christmas or my Birthday. I received the nicest packages from Barb Connor today. It was full of individual beautifully wrapped gifts, I looked at them for an hour before I could bare to open them they looked so pretty, I will attach a couple of pics. This is so much fun. Thank you Barb so much. I have and hope to continue to enjoy this pen pal fun.
I can't figure out how to add the pics. But please believe me when I say it was all cute cute cute.

I had to go to get a dress for my brothers upcoming wedding, June 01. I got a dress that is actually form fitting, woohoo. Went from trying size 12 on; to trying a size 10 on and ended up being in an 8. I checked the stores return/exchange policy and its 60 days. If I continue to lose and need a smaller size yet, then an exchange isn't a problem. I also realized, I don't have to leave my T-Shirt untucked anymore, to cover up. I now tuck the T-shirt in plus I can wear my daughters belt which is huge accomplishment. She is a size 3 and falls towards the end of the holes. I fall at the 2nd hole in, but that is huge and a big accomplishment. I definitely have no regrets about this surgery. It definitely is a confidence booster Tomorrow will b my 4th month anniversary and this morning I was at 166. I have 24-34 more pounds to go to be at my goal weight. I chose between 130-140 cuz I'm not sure which it will be or just be between the 2 #s. 12 pants are getting loose in the waist. Medium shirts now. Happier than I've been, since forever it seems. Ex can go to!!! I have learned so much about myself over the last 3 years w/o him in my life. I'm happy with who I am and definitely happy with what this surgery has given me, a renewed life :-)

Congrats to all of us on here for achieving our little goals we set for ourselves to reach our ultimate goal of a better, healthier life!!!

Yes even a little worse, I was on the table ready to be rolled back and the Surgeon walked in and said my blood sugar was too high and would not operate that day. No amount of my begging worked. He set it for a month later, He said eat thanksgiving dinner and then start the pre op diet again. Meanwhile a tumor and cyst on my ovary was discovered and on Dec 5 I had a revision of my lap band, to RNY, and a gyno came in and removed my ovary cyst and tumor. I guess there really is a reason for everything, I say this in the hope that you do not get canceled tomorrow. I pray your fever goes away, But if for some reason it is canceled, try to think of it as being for a reason and that it isn't NO, it is just not Tomorrow. Longest four weeks waiting for the second date to come. But it did all work out for the best.

I got the call today. Surgery is scheduled on May 15th! Woohoo!!

I did the band first because 7 years ago it just seemed right ! I was 22 and all i was worried about was getting skinny so i could wear cute clothes . Never really did no research just heared it was safe and went for it ! Plus everybody had a horror story it seemed back then about rny so i backed off . Then my best friend had rny a year after me and i watched her success and then many friends and family did it and all had major success . After six years and only a 40lb lost i desided to go foward with the revision . I had my lap band removed and rny the same day 1/29/13. Best choice i ever made i have lost 51 lbs and feel great ! To make a very long story short i pick the band for all the wrong reasons but now i got a second chance at success and i love my new life !

I would quote each of you but will take too long but thank you all who commented on my new name and pic. I am still old hippie gal. But i feel alot younger. And thinner. I know i still have quite a ways to go but i do feel good. And i thought changing the name would be more personal to all of you. Hey we have taking this journey together yall are all the support group i have and i have read your post even tho i may not comment on all of them i appreciate each of you more then you know.
