  1. That is so great. I mean just fantastic. You both are getting healthier by the day and that is so awesome.
  2. Jen that is fantastic. so happy for you, think i will do a little happy dance in your honor today.
  3. that would be an awesome app to have, that is my biggest worry for after surgery is how to be sure and get all the vitamins in. I think the protein and fluids will be ok but the vitamins I worry about. if we had a message everytime we were to drink, protein, vitamins, walk, rest our poor phones would be worn out lol. but you have to love modern technology
  4. fantastic news. So glad you are doing so well. Walk, Sip, Rest and repeat. Hugs to you, You put a smile on my face today just thinking of how good you are doing,
  5. Welcome and so glad you are doing good now, I bet you are feeling better and stronger every day. Just keep doing what program your Doc has laid out for you and the weight will come off, This isn't a race, slow and steady and taking care of you are what is so very important.
  6. Cookie hoping today brings less pain and heading to a better feeling you. Walk, Sip, Rest and then start all over again. Hugs to you and best wishes coming your way.
  7. If you are at or when you get to the softer stage and can have yogurt. I have been mixing the low fat greek yogurt with with about a tablespoon of sugar free pudding mix and a scoop of unflavored protein powder. I really like "eating" the protein instead of just drinking it. the unflavored can be put into so man things. I have gotten the unflavored unjury and sythrax makes a medical unflavored. and neither of these seem to alter the taste of what ever i put it in. You can even put it into warm things like soup or coffee as long as the temp is below 130. I am pre op so defiantly take my advice with a grain of salt.
  8. I just can't get shorter people, i am 4'10" and a half inches. I need stretched
  9. I made mine due to the good results people have gotten with their diabetes. With the band no matter how much I lost or ate blood sugars high and insulin resistance really bad. I have read that there is an 80% chance of not needing insulin. I am rolling the dice for those odds. I think I need the combo of restriction and malabsortion for my diabetes. Seven years ago my endo at the time was the first person to ever mention WLS, and I just didn't understand what he meant, I was about 50 pounds overweight. So I fought for the band. I know now from research and results of others, that he was wanting me to have the rny for my diabetes. I truly regret not listening to him then. I thought I knew so much better. Well seven years later, about the same as I started with the lap band, and on nearly 300 units of insulin a day. And still have very poor control. I have no horror stories to tell with the band. And that could be what is taking me so long to get approved. I have no fill in it now, and haven't for several years. I do think with the band I have been able to stay at my beginning weight (lost and gained the same 20 to 40 pounds) with out the band I probably would weight more than I do.
  10. wishing you the best, hope healing is quick. gentle hugs to you
  11. good news very good news congrats on the loss also
  12. so happy for you.....doing a happy dance
  13. I was wondering how nuts do on the new pouch. Love nuts. But wasn't sure how they would go down. I am sure chew chew chew is the big part.
  14. Please don't be discouraged. Think of the other things that can be happening, for instance like you said BB your clothes fitting better. Do you have more energy. Can you do something now that you couldn't do a couple of months ago. Your body is just adjusting to this new weight and all of a sudden you will drop five pounds. Don't stress. Do what you are doing. Move a bit more, Drink some more water, and enjoy the victories that you have already come to know. There are many more on the horizon, That scale is just a number. Don't let it have so much power. Hugs to you both.
  15. Praying for our Surgery peeps today. May God's hand be with their surgery team. Wishing you the very best,
  16. call the doc, that doesn't sound right
  17. You can kinda relax and know that you aren't going to get that phone call on Saturday or Sunday. But here we are another Monday, end of the business day and no call. Bummer So we wait. We Wonder and wait some more.
  18. good for you. That is wonderful.. Shouldn't have had to happen that way but glad he saw you and thought to ask and then did something about it. Hope the wait isn't too long.
  19. I am 57 and my biggest reason for wanting to have the rny is to be healthy to enjoy my grandchildren., They are my motivation. I have been so blessed I need to be able to enjoy the blessings and make memories with them. Here is to healthy grannies
  20. comfy is good. It is pretty dag gone important to be able to be comfortable. Another nice bonus to all of this. Congrats.
  21. I am waiting for insurance approval for revision from a lap band (had for seven years) to rny. I just never lost very much or kept it off with the band. And it didn't help with any of my health conditions, like diabetes and asthma. I am hoping to get approved very soon so I can get healthier.
