November Dates
It is a bit scary but I think the odds of me losing a leg because of diabetes is a lot more likely then dieing with this surgery, that is what i Keep telling myself. That right now I am not much good to anybody, so getting this surgery is kinda my last hope to have some good years left to enjoy my grandchildren and to make sure my 2 special needs children are set up independently. I have to be better, I just have to be.

Moving Onto The Next Stage Of Food?
when eating the mashed potatoes, add some low fat cheese and maybe a scoop of unflavored protein powder. you don't want to fill your pouch with just potatoes make sure they are a way of getting some protein in. And if you are making instant, use low fat chicken broth and low fat milk and no butter or margerine. You could make a very satisfying meal this way with the added protein of the cheese and protein powder and it might sit real well with your new tummy.

Does Anyone Still...
For so many years I don't think I saw myself as heavy as I was/am and now I just don't see myself as anything, I know that sounds nuts. I don't look in the mirror much, hate to have my pic taken. I have no idea what people see when they see me. This is all such a weird thing. I hope when I lose a LOT of weight that I will see a difference or that I will see SOMEBODY. Cause right now I just see a nobody in a big body with a very double chin, that I usually don't even want to put make up on. There are so many things that would change for me to lose the weight and to be healthy. I want to CARE about my appearance. I want to WANT to look in the mirror, I want to PROUDLY have pics taken with my beautiful grandchildren.

Pre Op Diet
Today starts my two week pre op diet. Protein Shake for Breakfast and Lunch then meat and non starch vege for dinner. I think mine isn't as bad as some. So far today two shakes in. Feel bit nauseous and kinda down. The sun is shining here in Indy I need to go sit in the sun. Good luck to us all these next couple of weeks. Glad I have you guys to come to. Not sure anybody else would really understand what we are going through. Even if they are supportive they just can't know like we do. Hugs to all

Phone Call
yep and you know they have the right number to call, lol. Just kidding, cause I swear I thought my phone had to be broke, or they had the wrong number or something when the phone didn't ring. Waiting for that approval call was like when you are a teenager waiting for the guy or girl to call and ask you out. And yes at least you know they are working on your stuff and you aren't just in a pile somewhere. Wishing you good phone calls today

Protein Powders
The two that I have had real good luck with are UNJURY unflavored and Snythrax unflavored. The UNJURY you can get at UNJURY,com the Snythrax you can get at BJS baratrics on line. These have no bad smell no bad texture, can be put into anything cold or warm (not hotter than 130) I add them to so many things. My favorites of all the protein are any in the UNJURY line and the Snythrax unflavored and nectars.
