Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself! I have been 'lingering' on this forum for a while. I started out as a sleeve patient and after EGD was told I could not have sleeve surgery due to esophageal ulceration and gerd(which i have never had a problem with). I had my ins approval for the sleeve and they are expecting my approval for bypass in the next few days. I have a surgery date set for December 3rd!! I am scared and nervous and happy all at the same time! I have seen a huge amount of support given on this site and i am sure I will learn a great amount from all of u

Any suggestions on how to deal with the anticipation and the bounce from so very happy to so very scared would be greatly appreciated :) thx - J

Do a lot of research on here, ask questions, you may find very soon you are glad with this change, Just glad your Doc is looking out for what is best for you, That says a lot, He wants you to have the right procedure for you, the one that you can have the most success with.

I've never had GERD, now you've worried me because you said you never had symptoms!

I'm hoping to have VSG, but rny is my back up plan. I don't know what to do. haven't had an endoscopy yet, tho.

I wanted the VSG, but changed to the RNY due to my EGD results also. I went through the roller coaster of emotions too. Not sure how to avoid that!

Makemyownluck- do not stress over your EGD. Hopefully, you will be able to have the procedure of your choice. I was disappointed at first but there was still an alternative for me Good luck to you!!
