My doctor only wants me on liquids for 24 hours after the fill. Check with your doctor. I usually add another 24 hours and go 2 days on liquids after each fill. Then mushy or blended foods. Lots of Soups and some salads, chopped up finely to pass the band opening.
Congratulations on the weight loss so far. Yes, I saw the inches first on my clothing then the weight loss. Keep up your graet effort.
    Best wishes

I got one yesterday. I was scared too but it was easy breezy like getting flu shot. Don't look and you will be fine.
They had me lie down first. They then pulled Fluid out measured amount and then reinserted it and added a little more.
They then had me sit in lobby and drink a cup of Water. If you can drink comfortably no problems ... Good to go.

    Hey PK
Wow you are in a tough time right now - just keep moving forward to get through it. I understand Doc visit (weigh in) can be intimidation, stressful and really depressing or up lifting.
    Two things:
1- People that have success w/band Go To All Appts and frequently ! No matter what.
2- Exercise (calorie burn) can be challenging for anybody but is often very challenging for big people. First, our lean muscle mass which effects resting metabolic rate (calorie burn during rest) is low at best. Second, we don't understand what and how and how much and when to exercise.
3- Cortisol is a hormone proven to effect weight loss/gain - its raised (bad) when we are stressed and don't get enough sleep .... Stress is hard to control but sleep can be the hidden thing missed
What type, when and how much are you exercising ?
That 1200 calories ... how exact are you on that number ? Weigh and measure stuff?
Hope in Your Future is Power in Your Present!

Just under 6 weeks and I have lost 45 pounds since Pre-op diet. I have not really felt hunger or had a problem so far. Very grateful. I exercise 20-30 Min cardio every morning and then add weights at least 2x per week. Thanks for your sharing.

This topic has been on my mind a lot. I do not want to have plastic surgery so I am trying everything I can to see if I can avoid it.
I'm 38 so I was already starting to see dry skin on my hands this last winter and I am sure that getting the Lap Band this last fall did not help in that; consuming a lot less oils :-).
Here is what I have been doing:
    1. Trader Joe's Vitamine E oil or Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil in the shower
    2. Occasional application of L'Occitane on my tummy (Horribly expensive I know!)
I recently came across another L'Occitane product that I will try I think - Almond Supple Skin Oil, looks like it does target skin toning.
    http://usa.loccitane.com/almond-supple-skin-oil,82,1,29229,262124.htm
Not sure if it will help but I have been doing this ever since I got the band so hopefully I have a head start. I've lost about 65 lbs so far so I will see how it goes.
    Best of luck to you.

My update: I was banded first thing this morning so I'm only around 6 hours out. They repaired my hernia too. I have been home for almost 5 hours. I'm only a little sore. Mostly at the port site. But the pillow helps that when coughing and moving. And I am keeping fingers crossed that I'm one of the lucky ones because I have had minimal gas pain so far. I have my gas ex and heating pad for the little bit that I do feel.
    Yay! I'm official now!

In other news...have a business trip coming up this Sunday. I will be in the puree stage of eating so I stocked up on organic pureed baby food for the trip. This will make it interesting!!

I guess I didn't look at it like that. The act of doing it just sounded disgusting to me, but I didn't think about the underlying issues associated with it. I wish now that I could talk her out of doing it, but I think she is using it as a crutch. I will certainly stay far away from this bad habit. I have sacrificed so much to be able to get my lapband, that I am not about to throw it away by developing new bad habits! Thanks everyone!
