  1. exercise helps the skin replace fat with muscle but the above post is so very true. I am 65 and was 250 for 30 year so I have sagging from age as well as losing 63 lbs if I were younger I would look into surgery at this stage I am just thankful I am healthier.
  2. The first 6-8 weeks is a healing time not a losing time. After that the real work begins and it is very hard to learn and need way of life. The key I found for me is track every sip and bite, and get on the chat site several times a day. Drink tons of water I mean 80 oz flood yourself. This is a diet like any other but the band helps to feel satisfied for a longer period of time. If you are hungry before 4 hours of eat one cup of food then you need a fill, or more water, and review you food tracker and find where you could change. excerise just a little at a time. This is hard work but so worth it...
  3. you need to heal before the weight loss work begins...if thought this was going to be a quick fix you'll be disappointed just follow the plan as you doctor set out and yes you will be hungry until you start to get some fills in 4-6 weeks...keep drink and get that protient in and all the water that will help but you haven't really started the program work as yet.
  4. your pregnant? that might be the cause and in that case only time will help...call your surgen and maybe he can give you something. you don't want to throw it
  5. . you have to follow the rules no matter how much is in your band. It's still a diet so a lot of thing had to change in my home. NO JUNK food allowed in the house and the kids have been great. If I have a problem food like peanut butter the Kids will hide it I just cant trust myself on some day so I have figured out little tricks to keep me on track you will also. At this point you should have lost more so track every bite and find out where the problem is the worst and fix that..this takes work but it works when you do Good luck
  6. Water and protein is the answer get those right then add exercise of some kind and watch it go.....getting these two right is tricky so you'll have to track it and really work on it to find what does it for you....if sure is fun losing now and being able to stay on a healthy path..Of course I want the crap when I am over stressed and it is a very hard time but I make it I like being thinner and all the positive, support I receive....keep us posted we have all been there
  7. real food in just a week I couldn't do it....whatever works I guess be very careful at this stage very tender at the band site (inside).
  8. interesting I am 65 and a widow so haven't been in the mood for years....it will be interesting if you get any serious answers.
  9. I found the first 6 wks or so while I was healing the scale didn't move much but as I go onto real meals and tracking every bite I started losing...you are doing great just keep it up.
  10. never understood that about medication? we put a band in our body to helps us with our weight but we wont go to a doctor and see if our brain chemistry needs any help. Its sure better the fast food, street drugs, boo's, or chips for me..I even went for heart surgery cause my body needed the help... each his or her own medical help is still help for the whole body
  11. if it is a capsil the plastic covering can hand on ask for tablet instead. Why are u drinking pineapple juice the sugar has got to be high and the acidity cant be good for the band, cant it? Are you chasing it down with ton's of water I know they say sip water but you might need to drink a whole glass at once.
  12. I feel the above post is something we should all do. Also I find the therepy is something worth checking your insurance for. There is always issue we need to deal with to support yourself, possibly medication is needed to level out the brain chemistry. I was told by my doctor to get evaluated for ADD for the keeping my thoughts focused better and who know's what other things I will find out about myself.
  13. that's my list also alone with buying new and pretty bra's and panties. congradulation to you.
  14. People never like success when they don't have any. Some folks feel better about themselves when thy have put some one else down. I usually say it is stomach repair the never is not in the right place and the band repairs that making dieting a success. It's a diet exercise that works .
  15. I took a few fills b4 for I didn't feel hungery and my one cup was enough the beginning is hard and just like every other diet in the beginning the habits we deveopled only chances with new rules for eating but it will happen for you...the band isn't an easy way to loss weight it works by keeping you satisfied on a small amount of food forever....this will change in time just hang in there.
  16. I am getting a fill next week for me the sweet spot has always stopped the head hunger and stopped making the junk food unrelistable I am beginning to fall in love with it again so in for a fill next week...I will not gain this back and only 13 lbs to go.....this has been the greatest thing I ever did for myself. good sweet spot to all
  17. yep been there done that.....so glad your feeling better now
  18. well, after finally being in control of my eating and weight I couldnt go without some help I would care of course being reversiable was not a consideration for me in the first place. I never want to go back to where I was under any curcomstances and you have already gain weight so you know you need some help and this is your only choice right now..good luck to you.
  19. call your surgeons office they would know. dont forget they are you first and best place for information.
  20. you look wonderful good idea to change doctors...think it is time for another fill for me...peanut butter and mix nuts called me over the weekend it was way to LOUD.
  21. went thought the very same thing and went to my PCP and they thought it was a heart attack and many other things. Then I called my surgons office and they had me come in and looked at tit with there special machine and it had folded over whent hey removed the fluid pain gone...always call them first to make sure its not something you added to your body or is it your body they would know more.
  22. so sorry this happened to you but thanks to you and folks like you I recieve a great band a year ago I lost 75 lbs and find np keeping it off sorry you gain it back that has to be so disappointing but best of like with the new selve....
  23. so sorry you have to go though this I lost my hubby and son so I understand completely and my heart hurts for her and you. Turn you pain and hers over to God and it will help more then you know...death is his way to end pain sometimes and he is waiting for her with open arms..when I pictured this it made my heart hurt just a bit easier. I am not a churcher person but I do talk to God and ask for his support and he has been very generous to me. When you go on the hunt for food seat down and meditated with palms up and just stop your mind from wondering and focus on one item mine is a rose bud...its hard to think of food or a sick friend when you focus on something lovely. it really works hugs to you and your friend
  24. I guess a limited few have serious problems like yours are you going to have the sleve or something else done at the time of removal? and were you able to get to goal? I hope you a quick recovery and so sorry you have had this problem.
