  7. Had appt to get a fill today, doc decided to wait til the end of Jan. Down another 5 lbs, total of 55. He was pleased with the weight loss (as am I) but since I was doing well he wanted me to get through the rest of the holidays. He did however, spend some extra time with me discussing my diet. The turkey (not the dr,) the bird, at Thanksgiving did not agree with me to well. Left overs wouldn't go down and when they did, wouldn't stay down. He then proceeded to remind me of too many carbs and not enough veggies. Although bumed out by not getting the fill, I appreciated the reminders and the time the doctor gave me and I have to keep an I CAN DO IT attitude until then.

Care And Feeding Of Lap Band Opinions

I may not ask a lot of questions, but only because they have already been asked at one point or another. Your experience, or your "been there, done that" is of great help and is very appreciated. I for one need your two cents worth and any thing that anyone else has to offer as well. So I Thank You for it.
  11. This has been a rough week. I am getting over a very bad bout with Bronchitis, but I think I am ready to start walking/exercising again. The problem is that I can't seem to get back on track. I am being very careless with eating the wrong kind of foods. Not so much the quantity though. It is so easy to slip back into old habits. It really does help to have someone to talk to that understands all the ups and downs and to help you each other get through it. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

    First Fill Question....

Hi, It could be anything. I have not heard of this happening, it may just be a a quick bug passing through, could be nerves. If you are still having problems tomorrow call your Dr. just to make sure.
  13. Thanks for the great tips. It helps to see it in writing.
  14. I wish I could help, I am having issues myself. Tomorrow is a new day, maybe start it off with just that, begin fresh. look at all of your pre and post op material and refresh yourself with it. I have been sick for about 3 wks and have not paid much attention to what I have been eating and I have not been walking. Somehow or another, I have to make myself feel better and turn things around. I hope you can do the same. Let me know how it goes with you and welcome back being to a Bandster.

    Carbohydrates?

Is that 40-80 per day? Sounds like an awful lot. I am having issues with eating too much overall, mostly in carbs.

    Hungry!

I am 4 weeks post op this week, I have not lost anything. I go for my first fill on the 6th. But I feel hungry and before you know it I am looking for something to eat, I feel like I am slipping backwards. The more hungry I get the less I pay attention to what and how I eat. Good news is I haven't gained anything either! Any advice on this? Can some one please explain the "green zone" to me?

    Would Like A Mentor, Please

Hi Michelle, I am fairly new to the band also, 3 weeks post op, and new to this site. Seems that there are a lot of people that are in the same place as us or have been ther already. I have not lost anything since surgery. But am told it is normal. Excited to get my first fill on 9/6. The only advice I can give you at the moment is to follow the book the best you can. When you get to regular food, chew, chew, chew and chew some more. Small bites. I have only had a problem once with food getting stuck. Thought I was going to DIE!! Once I vomited I felt much better. But it took a whild to get to that point. Just follow what they tell you. You will do great I'm sure.

    Worried?

Hi, Jess, you're ok, I am 3 wks post op and have been getting in a lot of walking, no fills yet. The dietician says not to worry, it will come. She reminded me to look at the big picture (our health) and not just the (numbers).
  21. Thanks Mama, I am a new bander as well. 3 weeks post op and was feeling the same way and really didn't know if it was normal or not, I did not lose anything in this 3rd week and was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. But I feel better now that I know I 'm right on target. I go for my 1st fill on 9/6. But I am very happy that I am already down 40 lbs since my journey began at the 1st of May:)
