  1. The fact of the matter is that even in my office where there are 7 others that have had WLS, every time I've mentioned looking into WLS I get these looks and attitude. It seems a little strange that people I consider friends aren't supportive. why would anyone else be? I keep getting the lecture: you can do it on your own, your not THAT fat, you just need to exercise, etc. etc. I can't do it on my own, I am over 90lbs over my goal weight and that's not even as low as "modern medicine" says I should be, I DO excercise and even eat right... so...

Honestly, I plan to tell everyone I'm taking a vacation.

Regardless, it's a personal decision. My husband knows because he'll be my ride home. One of my children knows. i don't know if I'm telling anyone else. I suppose we will figure it out as we go along.

Good luck to you in this leg of your journey! :D

  2. I've had pulmonary issues all my life and it seems that every time it was that TOM I got sick with whatever was going around. The one thing that helped me was that I start drinking AIRBORNE at about the second week in August (just once daily) and I continue until the pollen is done in May. I haven't been hospitalized in 5yrs because of this. I also get a flu shot each year and a pneumonia shot every 5. I'll pray extra for you. Feel better. and no worries about the whiney...we're all here to talk and listen.

  3. I started this process quite a bit ago with the gym and the NUT etc. My doc suggested counseling due to high stress so I do that too. My NUT said to chew every bite 25times. I can tell you that once you chew something 25 times you'd be surprised at what you find you don't really like. Try that. I've noticed that on the days I count...I eat a LOT less. When I don't count I eat too fast and stuff my face. It took a while but I realized that it's a process. I just hope to change my worst habits before the surgery so I don't have to struggle so much after. Good luck to you! keep going and if you mess up just try again. :)
