Thank you for your story. It is bittersweet, to lose your Mother is so sad but like slimagainsoon said it may have been God's way because now you are doing well and looking ahead to your healthy future. Sorry for your Loss.

Can I be a Scale Pal too? I am in the same boat as the two of you also...I keep bouncing between 190-192 and I would like to get about 30 more pounds off. I think it would be very helpful for me to have to be accountable to for my weigh-ins.

Do you want to be Scale Pals? We could record weight every Wednesday and report it (truthfully) to one another either here or via text messaging with a picture of the scale! it's a different form of motivation. I'm right where you are weight-wise and looking to take off 30 more pounds. If not interested, just let me know. I'm looking for whatever will work!

I am so happy you're here and your date is coming up so quickly! I was sleeved 9/14 and already feel like it's the best decision I could have made for me (down 30 lbs.). I feel like I can look forward to being an active grandma now (in 10-20 years lol, my oldest is only 15) instead of watching from the sidelines like my mom with her bad knees, ruined feet, and terrible arthritis.

How long after you eat did you have them? Could be dumping syndrome. Slow down your eating, make sure you are waiting a full minute to two minutes between bites.

I know what you mean about feeling full and hungry at the same time. I have my surgery tomorrow and I've been on the pre op diet for the last week. Soup and yoghurt. The soup made me feel full but my belly really wanted meat so it was still giving me the hungry signals. I've sort of got used to it so hopefully it won't be too bad on the other side!

all good suggestions. My only note would be to watch out for the "fat free" items. For a food to be tasty and fat-free, many manufacturers will load it with sugar to make up for the loss of taste from the missing fat. Suger is the DEVIL. What your body doesn't need to use for insulin, it will store in your fat cells to use later, which in turn defeats the whole purpose of us going through this. A little fat is better for you than the sugar to avoid the fat.

Way to go! Working out more will help you see the results you want quicker. Another thought - do you work in an office building? Can you take a few flight of steps a few times a day? I used to do that before. I would go up and down as many times as I could. It's a little at a time, but it adds up before you know it.
Keep up the great work. You will get there in time.

It very well could be. You know those éclairs that the grocery store has - the ones at the bakery? They come in a plastic container w/ about 5 large ones? Ya - they are also tasteless. Well, when I am having a bad day or an emotional one - I find myself at the grocery store - buying them - eating them in the car on the way home - then throwing the box away before going inside – then becoming upset that I ate them all. I have done this about 20+ times in the last 19 years. It wasn't until I was in therapy that I realized it was a connection to my mom. When I was younger, we used to go to a real bakery, and she would share an éclair with me. I guess it was my way of re-connecting with her subconsciously.

Get on a PPI definitely hon. I was hungry like that and someone told me to do this and it worked, definitely.
Otherwise, are you getting your water in? That's another mimic of hunger ... when you are thirsty. Make SURE you get your water in (I hate water so I do crystal lite like add ins). Minimally 64 oz a day.
Only other question is ... is it really physical hunger or mind hunger? Mindfully eat - and that's the hard part on your WLS journey to learn.
Best protein shake on the market (IMO) is "Oh yeah vanilla creme". Little bottles are 130 calories/18 g of protein, big bottles are 32 g protein and 220 calories so it's a meal.

Girl, I was sleeved back in June, and after about 5-7 days I was hungry....I swore I could just run a tube down my throat and pump those liquids in cause my arm was so sore from lifting the cup ALL THE TIME! I'd take 2-3 sips, be full as a tick on a fat dog........and then 5 minutes later starving to death!!!
My surgeon laughed at me (for some reason, I get that response a lot) but encouraged me to keep drinking and sipping, things would even out........and they did.
And maybe all that lifting toned up my biceps a little too.

Are you on a PPI?Acid is sometimes masked as hunger.
And if you are still on liquids this is quite normal for some of us.Once you start eating you will feel satisfied as you WILL feel full.
Hang in there. Not long now before you can eat.

You made it through the surgery part and all the hoops before. You have to be proud of that. Keep that in mind as you get into small struggles along the way. You are doing very well. I hope in 2 months after my surgery I am doing as well. God bless and count very little progress as a giant hurtle because it has been.

Thank you all for all the knowledge you are providing. I get stronger each post. I have contacted Drl Kelly based on your posts and have committed. However, I was wondering your thoughts on the deposit... Omar told me to western union 200 for the deposit to his name then the 5K a cashiers check to Dr. Kelly and scan it or something like that. The original email they sent me said cash, credit card, wire or cashiers. Does anyone know why wire to Omar then cashiers to dr?
