  1. I have not had PMS for many years. But many years ago I did a diet through one of those diet centers. They had you get off all sugars and salt and I never had PMS cravings. In fact that was over about 25 years ago and I still don't use salt on anything. I hate McDonald's fries with salt. I do have dark chocolate every so often. Good luck.
  2. I agree. Maybe just try to eat different and see a dietitian for help. I think your BMI has to be well over 35-40 to even be considered. Good luck.
  3. I have a few dietitians and one of them said you have to eat to lose weight. I bought a Fitbit and it helps me keep track of all my intake. I also record my activities and it keeps track of walking and climbing stairs on it's own. Like last night when I recorded my dinner it told me how much protein I had for the day and I saw I could still have some more, so I did. My weight stays around the same numbers for a few months at a time then I will have a 5 lb. loss. Weird how it works. I see my doctor every 2 months and have always showed a 8-10 loss each time and I am fine with that. Good luck.
  4. So happy to hear you're doing fine. Walking around the mall so soon is brave of you. Use heat for the gas pains. When is the wedding?
  5. Every thing you is said is so true. I never wanted my insides removed, cut or stapled. The band can be removed and the others-you're f**ked.
  6. Just came form BJ's and bought the jumbo lump crab. It is chicken of The Seas. They even had a coupon at the front of the store for it.
  7. I buy jumbo lump crab at BJ's Wholesale. I think it is Bumble Bee or Star Kist. It comes in one pound containers. I love it and eat it for my go to Protein.
  8. My doctor's office has someone on call 24/7. It doesn't hurt to check. Good luck.
  9. I love swordfish and decided to have it tonight for the first time since the band. I got banded July 30th. The fish was wonderful and agreed with me but as I took my time eating and the fish cooled down it got harder to chew. Has this happened to anyone else with swordfish? I usually eat salmon, shrimp and lump crab meat for fish. I am not the best fish eater.
  10. I totally understand. I have to use liquid colace every day because of BM problems. Ask your doctor if there is something you can take. Good luck.
  11. tonight I had my support group. They had a sleep doctor and she talked about the different kinds of sleep and how having the surgery does change people sleep. I know I sleep much better and hub said I don't snore anymore. Also, I no longer take 2 hour afternoon naps. Next meeting we are having a tasting party with new products. I will let everyone know about the new items. Then in May is a cooking demo. Most people in the crowd have not had any surgery yet. Some couldn't decide what they wanted. So being me and talkative I said the band is the best. One man had bypass a few years ago and loves it and he was with his sister who is scheduled for the sleeve. Another man, no surgery yet, said his brother had the by pass and never smoked. He now is a chain smoker and said the by pass causes addiction. I don't know anything about that. Interesting. I really enjoy the meetings and listening to other people's stories, pros and cons. Do all of you go to your meetings? My hospital is 5 miles from my house, which makes a big difference. I told the director of the office about this site and that she would learn a lot about people's thoughts. Enjoy your evening everyone.
  12. Good luck tomorrow. I see your blogs so often, which is wonderful, I feel like you have had the band for a real long time. You will be perfect. I didn't find this wonderful site until after my surgery. You are very lucky to have found it before and ask and listen and talk to all of us.
  13. Very sorry to hear about the family's loss.
  14. Wonderful! I hope you have another date with the "gentleman".
  15. I had seen something about drinking and WLS and it said that since the stomach is smaller it takes less to get drunk. Ask your doctor and or dietitian about everything you say you will miss. I use have a pint of ice cream almost every night, I don't have the urge to even have any. Your taste may change. You can have fun in a group without drinking. I do not drink or smoke (never smoked) and always had a great time in my younger years. Good luck with your choices.
  16. My goal was 170 but as I lose I now think around 140-150. When I got married 42 years ago I weighed 144. That would be amazing. My sons have never seen me under 180 and they were kids then.
  17. Can't wait until Dancing With The Stars!! Love, Fashion Police and Joan's sense of humor. I love raunchy humor. Hate all the housewife shows. Love Criminal Minds. Use to love The Girls Next Door. Now what about porn?????
