Great post Kime-lou. I've gotten myself in trouble a few times b/c of my need to defend who & what I believe in. I've apologized and learn to block.
Not only is the band a learning process, but learning social media is too.
Sometimes someone can be coming off as rude and uncaring when that is the farthest thing from that persons intent.
I personally get great joy sharing what works for me or things I've experienced. I would not be here if it was only to pick out ppls mistakes. That is not what makes me happy.
Thank you for reminding us all to live & learn in a positive way!

Glad that's all it was. But definitely a reminder of the lap band basic rules. It takes us months to get it down, get in the groove and then get too comfortable and have to relearn them again. Thanks for sharing!

I think there may be a couple reasons. From your other posts, you are under a tremendous amount of stress right now. I have read about several people that felt their bands were tighter under extreme stress. Also, once we get closer to that infamous "green zone" and have more restriction, we can no longer gulp or chug water. I have to sip water or I feel that "lump" in my throat.
Also, if you have irritated it by being stuck on any foods lately, that could be causing it to be tighter.
Try drinking smaller sips and see if that helps. If not, you may need a slight unfill. I have been tighter too when my allergies and sinuses were bothering me in case that may be going on w/ you.
Best wishes to you! I hope this passes soon.

I don't find it to be superficial at all based on your reason for it. I am nowhere near close to goal but even w/ the 60 lbs I have lost, the girls are sagging. I don't need nor want to look like Pamela Anderson but I would love to feel good about them again and will likely want a lift when all is said and done. I am noticing sagging skin already too and, while I feel good about losing weight, it doesn't feel good to look at the sag.
You have worked your tail off and if this is the final piece to make you feel even better, go for it!! It's also awesome that your hubby loves you unconditionally and yet is supportive of you doing this for you!
Congrats and that is too funny the thoughts of going boob shopping!

Awesome!!! Soon those 16's will button too!!! I was so excited that when I went shopping for a holiday sweater, I was able to get an XL from the misses section and shop on the main floor of the store instead of upstairs in a corner where they hide the women's clothes.

I agree that no one, unless they have the proper credentials, should be giving medical advice to others on this forum, or any other venue. We all have been on the "learning curve" at some point on our journey to become a healthier individual, however there is a difference between general advice and questions which a qualified professional needs to answer.
I'm unclear as to which individuals you are referring to that "bash" others...I don't condone that. However if you have been on this forum for some time and read some of the posts it does make me wonder if the poster has had any pre-op education. Sometimes when people ask for advice, if you respond in an honest way they get offended. If you don't want an answer, then don't ask the question. I don't know of anyone I have encountered on this site that has malicious intent to be negative towards others.
I am a licensed therapist and a certified addictions professional. I understand that there are immense differences between instructions a surgeon would give their patients and I respect that. I encourage posters to follow the instructions they have been given by their medical team, and if they don't understand them, ask their team of medical professionals for clarification...that's why you are paying them.
I understand that the motivation for success has to come from within the individual. I also understand that even a professional within the scope of their practice cannot "save" everyone. Sometimes it is appropriate to tell it like it is and not coddle an individual, but always in an appropriate way.
Ultimately we owe it to ourselves to be informed, to be motivated, and feel that we can reach out for support, as well as be successful on our journey.
It's really not necessary to have an attitude if your interpretation of a post is different from the intent in which it was offered. And because interpretation is a "subjective" measurement, it helps to clarify the intent before you "cop the attitude"...
Best wishes for your continued success...

This is sooooo true and thank you for posting this. A couple weeks ago I was going on various sites and looking up calories of popular fast food items. I was astounded at some of them and YES, ordering a grilled chicken sandwich minus cheese and mayo makes the WORLD of difference in calories and fat. My fiance is not overweight and has started adopting this mentality as well. I am SOOO happy that after January 1 chain restaurants that have more than 20 locations are supposed to post the caloric value of their menu items (like McD's now does). I really believe when people are ordering many of these things they don't even realize just how fattening some things are.
My daughter and I went to Applebees recently. I ordered from the "under 500 calorie menu" and didn't finish my meal. My daughter ordered a quesadilla burger w/ fries. Now, she knew the meal wasn't healthy but we don't go out often and she splurged. Later, when I was looking up fast food stuff I looked up her meal from that night and it was over 1000 calories!!! I mentioned it to her and she was SHOCKED. I asked her if she would have ordered that knowing it was over 1000 calories and she said no. Hence why I am so happy they will have to incorporate that going forward.
Thanks again and kudos to you for figuring it out!

My doctor is kind of the same way. He will tell me if I ask but he doesn't advertise as he feels we are all different and cannot compare w/ one another.
That being said, I ask the nurse after the doctor leaves. I know he won't care and I love my surgeon but she will tell me without hesitation. She also said, I SHOULD know in case I ever had to go to the ER or something I should know what is in there.
If you call back to the office, the nurse should be able to look it up for you.

It might just be that you need a slight unfill. There is no need to assume worse case just yet. You need to speak to your physician and just discuss what's going on. If it is worst case... it could save your life.

    Hi
Call the doctor asap. This does not sound normal. It's great to lose weight but it has to be healthy.
    Good luck.
