  1. I am pre-op & trying to educate myself all about my nutrition that I really need to focus on post-op. I understand the whole protein intake, but need help w/ cards, calories & fat.
  2. I am pre-op & have tinkered w/ the idea of trying to eat clean post-op. I have incorporated it a little so far. My surgery date is 9.20.12.
  3. I cannot wait for the following: feeling healthy, being able to get up fr/ sitting w/out throbbing pain, sitting comfortably in chairs/ cars, being able to wear normal sizes & not worrying about the robe when I get my hair "did" fitting or not, going shopping & clothes fitting ESP. Jeans, my list could go on & on:-/
  4. TY...TY:-) I know I can do this & actually have already eliminated carbonated beverages & I drink one light muscle milk as a meal daily. I'm just anxious to get this new way of life on the road.
  5. I start my liquid diet one wk fr/ today!! I'm super excited because that means I'm closer to my surgery date 9.20.12. On another note I'm nervous that I will fail @ liquids. Does anyone have any tricks, pointers or words of encouragement???
  6. I'm scheduled for surgery on 9.20.12 w/ Dr.Kim. I had 2 co workers who also used Dr.Kim:-)
  7. I currently take them & was just wondering if I would b able to tolerate them after being sleeved? I am scheduled for surgery 9.20.12. I love the texture & actually just wet my finger and get as much as I can & eat them plain:-) They seem to keep me fuller longer. Great info & thx for ur response.
  8. Does anyone take Chia Seeds? If so are you allowed to take them post-op?
  9. I am:-) I'd prefer someone w/ similar stats as myself. I am 5'3 and weigh 238lbs. I'm in TX & my surgery is scheduled for 9.20.12.
  10. I did do research on the web, but it was anywhere fr/500-5000, so I will take 500mcg 2x's a day until I see my dr for further info. Its just I have really long thick hair & I am trying to avoid any unnecessary loss. Thx for all the replies:-)
  11. Ok so I am scheduled for surgery 9.20.12 & I am worried about hairloss, so I bought biotin 500mcg. Does anyone know how many times a day I should take it or what is recommended for the maximum benefit?
  12. I believe so. I just know the first place submitted to Cigna was denied & then Melissa resubmitted for a diff place of surgery. I'd totally like to keep in touch & have a sleeve buddy:-)

  15. I called everyday starting w/ the first day my surgeons office said it was submitted. I was just approved yesterday by Cigna.

  20. I tried probing w/ the rep to better explain to me why it would need a medical directors approval. I did not get a good understanding w/ the explanation she provided.
  21. Ive been calling Cigna everyday since 7/24. Todays status is the same as yesterday it's in a nurse review & either the nurse approves it or it is sent to a medical director for approval or denial. This is what a Cigna rep explained to me. I'm pretty sure I'm approved or @ least that is what I keep telling myself!!!
