Biotin

Ok so I am scheduled for surgery 9.20.12 & I am worried about hairloss, so I bought biotin 500mcg. Does anyone know how many times a day I should take it or what is recommended for the maximum benefit?

    1000mg daily is what I have been taking ,and with my Lapband the hair loss lasted about 3 months. So now that I went through the sleeve, I am scared I will going through the hair loss process again.. Yuck!

    well to be honest you should research it on the internet or speak to your doctor, I take 5000 mg daily, It has slowed down the hair loss

    I did do research on the web, but it was anywhere fr/500-5000, so I will take 500mcg 2x's a day until I see my dr for further info. Its just I have really long thick hair & I am trying to avoid any unnecessary loss. Thx for all the replies:-)
