I have BCBS Alabama as well and was approved within a week after they got all the info.

Figure out a way to get up enough money to go to Mexico. Get a second job if u can tolerate it. On another forum a lady had some financial problems and someone from the forum gave her a donation to pay for hers! It was such a blessing! I pray that something comes through for u!!

Oh good luck! I hope they will accept that as the 6 month requirement! I just got approved Thursday with BCBS AL! I started the 6 month diet in from Feb-July and met the other requirements and was approved thank God! I will be praying that you get a positive outcome as well!

I would check with my insurance to see if they even cover wls, because just because u have a consult with a surgeon doesn't mean you'll get approved. Most surgeons have a program fee of $200 and up! So definitely check with your insurance to see if you have coverage first.

I'm so happy! I'm in tears! I have a better chance to see my kids grow up! I called BCBS AL today to see if they received the missing paperwork and the rep said "it was approved yesterday as soon as your doctor sent it" I screamed with joy!!!!!! My coordinator is out of the office until Tuesday! Will keep u guys updated and thank u all for every post, reply,prayer thanks!!

They say they only have the last 2 months of my 6 month diet but hell if they just look through the paperwork they will see the whole damn 6 months was completed!! Wow they make things so difficult!! My coordinator is resubmitting it to them, but she has comfirmation that she did send it! Be so glad when this is over!!!

Sorry in advance if this sound rude but if this is the size u are in the last picture with the bathing suit then any doctor that does any wls on you should be punished. U are a very thin, great size! If you have a problem with binging and purging then you should really seek some therapy and a good nutritionist to help u maintain your weight. Again I apologize if this sounds rude.

Insurance have had my documents 5 days and I'm super nervous, scared you name it. I've been calling and sent an email yesterday and its still incomplete. I know having a bmi of 59 has to be medically necessary! I'm praying for a positive answer!

I have BCBS AL waiting on approval for VSG they've had all of my paperwork 3 days so far and its a lot but its all there. Hope and pray I get approved by the end of next week!

Hello! I'm just saying hello! Glad to see someone from Valdosta. I'm getting ready for VSG surgery...very excited good luck.

I was waiting for approval from insurance but found out he left the practice in jacksonville without notice. So I lost my 200 program fee which I'm gonna seek legal action about! Tried to give him the benefit of doubt and he left again. So I had to find another surgeon and pay another program fee.AVOID this doctor he has issues!!

That should have been submitted with the packet. That's a normal requirement.they must have forgotten it.

5000mg is what I take also.

Take my advice! Call call call! Stay on top of it! I thought my stuff was submitted Monday and come to find out it wasn't because my surgeon quit the practice and they never called me to tell me! I ended up calling insurance and they had nothing submitted so I got the news when I called the surgeon's office...so now I'm switching my entire bariatric program and surgeon because I feel they should have called me and said something!
