How much of your loss is the band and how much is you?
I'm with Juli, I know we gotta work the band and all.. but I feel like the band does at least 80% of it. I don't keep bad things that go down easy and fattily, so that's all me hehe.. But when I eat, I don't eat diety, and if I COULD, I'd be eating a lot of it.. but the band doesn't let me. Hoorah band.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
The one I mentioned that still makes my heart flip-flop.. funny story, I was planning to lose my big V to him on my 16th b'day.. I went over in a trenchcoat (and nothing else.. had my license woohoo, so I could drive to his apartment.. he was 18). Anywho, I get there and I kid you not, he is banging my best friend. They ended up moving in together, and duh it didn't work out.. I coulda told them that, but whatever! So you'd think I hate his guts now, but through our relationship- before that happened -he was the most romantic guy ever. He always knew what to say or do to make me just swoon. DH never does that kind of stuff hah hah. And I guess the tea/coffee thing all depends on where you look for info. I still count it as my water cause I make it myself.. and I KNOW I USED 8oz OF WATER FOR EVERY GLASS.. hah. Mine is 0 calorie, and I love it.

I don't know how it affects weight loss necessarily, But tea & coffee are on the 'anti-water' list, not the 'water intake' list. My sheet of paper says don't drink it period. I've heard others say for every 1 glass of tea/coffee, you have to drink 2 glasses of water. So it counteracts. Just a thought Suzy, like I said.. I don't know if that actually affects what we're drinking water for.. I would guess it does just since my doc says NO to it. And kettle, pot.. I drink tea all the time. Just something to think about if you're trying to kick it in gear!

Shrinkin' Vi's Bandiversary Blow-Out Planning Post #1: Who Wants to Come?
I know, an estimate, hehe. Just trying to run how much I would need to sell from my 'game' to make the $$ for the trip. I should be able to do it in a month if I don't have to put it in the bank for bills!

My Hair Loss Solution...
I have had some of those temporary clips before, even had some to match my hair color.. but (and this may be user error), they always look like crap on me.

$300 total on the top end, or $300 per night?

My Hair Loss Solution...
That's a bold move! I thought about doing that in general just to wear wigs, so I could have all kinds of different hair on a whim. But knowing my track record, I'd be too lazy to maintain the wigs, then I wouldn't have anything to wear, and I'd panic (I look HORRIBLE in hats, I do NOT have the face to pull off shaved head). Kudos to you! I have been wanting to get weaves from my hair lady, she does them European style, whatever that means.. they're not burned in or glued or braided in, not sure how she does it..but the pics I saw, looks normal and wonderful thick hair.. but it's $900.. woosh. She said they last a year, so if I get the guts to spend $900 on my hair, I'm gonna do that.

DH went back to the eye place (hose R Us) to get his contact Rx. I told him, under NO circumstances, is he to buy his contacts there. Get the Rx, and I will price shop. He was adament, saying he'll just buy 1 month and then get the Rx. I said NO! So, the price they had for his brand/blah blah was $80 per 3 months. I found them at 1800contacts for $160 for the year, plus free shipping, a $40 mail in rebate, and -$10 discount code. $110 for 12 months. I swear every year I'm not going back to our eye place, I know they rip us off, but I don't know where to go for the kind of glasses I like. DH won't go to Wal-Mart's eye center for some reason. He suggested Sears Optical, but last time I walked by, it's such a small hole in the wall, I doubt they have any kind of selection for glasses. At least we have another year to figure it out.

What did we decide on as for lodging? What is the total cost per person?

Ladies......I need help with the girls!
Overall I don't like LB, but I only get my bras & panties there. They will fit you if you ask.. (I hate doing this personally, I'm so tall and they're normally in the girl's face and.. bah). But like I said, since losing weight, first time in my life underwire is not uncomfortable. And making sure you get the right size is important! Maybe it's enell? Someone mentioned on the exercise thread a good sports bra, I went ahead and ordered one and I have to say it IS the best sports bra I ever had. I wouldn't wear it normally (it makes my boobs disappear), but for exercising it is a life saver, and when I have it on my back instantly feels like I don't have boobs pulling me down. I do have some non-underwire bras, and they're now as comfortable as my normal bras.. but they've never been able to make me perky, no matter what size I get or how tight I make them.

What Am I Missing? Why 2 oz.?
I honestly didn't have exact guidelines for the post-op consumption. Later in the banding life I was told like 4oz of meat, 2oz of this, blah blah.. but for the liquids, I was just told to sip slowly. And I ate till I was full, which really didn't take much. I was so swollen, I probably didn't have more than 3oz of anything over an hour's time.

Am I Eating Too Much?
Egg drop soup.. great one! I forgot about that, lots of Protein, and its yummy and.. should count in the liquids, depending on which phase you're in. If you're in clear liquids, strain out the egg bits. I would get a pint from my favorite Chinese place and it reheated well. And my favorite clear liquid (and I drank during the normal liquid phase), was Campbell's chicken noodle soup.. strained.. I bought the to-go things that are like in a cup, heat it, then sip it through the other hole (not the one you're suppose to drink it through), it was a tiny hole and made it where I only got the liquid. Or you could strain it in a normal strainer. Then you can add non-flavored Protein powder, but make sure you add it BEFORE you heat it up, otherwise it's clumpy and disgusting.

Rewards....help please
I know some people in my month's group that is doing charm bracelets. Every X amount of pounds they buy a new charm for it. I was going to do this, but I really don't wear jewelry. I collect it, and like to look at it, so the charm bracelet would be fairly rewarding to see me pile on charms.. but I wanted something more practical. My reward seems to be new styles. As I go into lower sizes, I am getting new styles, complete with new shoes, undies & purses! I even went make up shopping (egads.. I don't ever wear make up). I actually have matching panties & bras, shoes & purses that match, and it gives me a confidence boost throughout the day and reminds me where I'm going and not to shove the brownie in my pie hole. If you're low on funds (I am recently due to unexpected bills all over the place), I do a lot of discount shopping. I go to the websites of my favorite places and check out the clearance/sales area only. I find great deals, then go to google and find a discount code for their website. A lot of stuff is a steal.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
I most definitely notice my restriction slowly going away. It makes me panic that I stretched or slipped, etc. I'm trying not to be a worry wart. I've lost a lot of weight since my fill, so I'll assume that's it. I was able to eat 1/2 of a piece of french toast.. and later, 1/2 of a biscuit with ham (bottom bun, no top). I have not been able to eat ANY bread for like a month.. one teeny bite would kill me.. and now I can eat this much, scares me. I did spit up some of the biscuit with ham, but I ate one bite more than I should have.. I felt the stuffed feeling, but it was so nummy.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Oh yeah Tracy, honestly... I read it somewhere on the forums, and I try it, and it works.. I eat more calories than normal 2 days a week, to keep my body guessing. I average 800-1,200.. and 2 days a week I eat around 1,800 (normally an 'indulge' day and that's how I get it so high). It's working for me, if my weight loss is any indication. I'm trying to avoid plateaus. The news said my city "close 2nd" for top tornado-prone cities. 2nd to Oklahoma City. I'm really surprised, we've been in a drought and when I use to live here, we had tornadoes all the time (love it).. since we moved back here, I missed the storms.. and low and behold NO MORE STORMS. Anyway, so when I heard that this morning, I was definitely surprised.. must not be any tornadoes anywhere lately. I was looking online to see where this study is, and I found old ones, where our city was actually #1 for a while. So where are they?! I just cleaned my office, and first time in a long time- took one of my speedy diet pills. The ephedrine is good for opening up bronchial passages, so I hoped it'd help me breathe better. My office looks great now, it's been so cluttered with crap. Still cluttered with crap, but now it's off to the side hehe. Wish we could all go for lunch, would be nice

Wow his spelling does suck! I think we all have one of those kinda guys.. me and my co-worker were talking about this last year. We're both happily married, but we both have a first love, that still contacts us about once a year via e-mail or calls us.. And they still give us butterflies. Even though we'd never ever be with them again, and we're happy.. something about that first.. and the fact they always make a point to contact you once a year to remind you. Men.

Obama won Iowa...woot
Yeah, I don't think anything should be released till all states are in either, I think it sways people 'Well so and so isn't doing so well, I may as well vote for so and so'. But it's one state! Politics confuse me on a daily basis.

Shrinkin' Vi's Bandiversary Blow-Out Planning Post #1: Who Wants to Come?
Just thinking about finances.. We're saving up to get Chantix right now, and it's about $200 per person per month, at 6 months.. and then our vacuum cleaner broke, and we were talking about getting the Dyson Animal (awesomeness) but it's $600.. and that was going to be x-mas, but then we got glasses, then the vacuum broke.. blah blah blah. I'll have to see what finances are looking like

I am always curious why it matters what one state says? Everyone acts like it's a big deal, but.. it's one state.. So I is confused.

swallowing pregnancy pills
Prenatals are good for bandsters anyway, I forget what now, but there was something in them (maybe the folic acid??) that my doc recommended I do prenatals. I got some chewable ones that were so horrid, I went back to Flinstones. If you can swallow them, kudos! My doc said 18 months for RNY patients to get pregnant, he said many get pregnant in the first year because they didn't think they were fertile, but lose weight, get pregnant.. and he said many of them resulted in miscarriages due to malnutrition.

Ack.. Nyquil is high calorie!!!
I'm sick and have been taking a lot of meds.. Nyquil, Dayquil, Robitussin, Sudafed, etc. Boredom I suppose.. I looked up Nyquil (liquid) on Myplate. 93 calories for 2 tbsp! OMG! So I had hundreds of calories the past few days from this stuff? :) Are there decent alternatives? Anyone know if the gel tabs are lower calorie? I'm pretty bummed. I could have had some stocking candy for the calories I've had in these meds. :think
