  1. Yay, good for you  Not to burst your bubble, but just to keep in mind, so you don't crash and burn.. post-op when you're able to eat again, it's not unusual to gain some weight back from your pre/post op diets. It doesn't always happen (it didn't to me), but it can.. so if it does, just remember you'll keep losing soon

You're all lucky we have time, I am in such a rotten mood between being sick & taking Chantix!
  3. I have no regrets about the band specifically, but in all honesty "I should have just had RNY" has crossed my mind on several occasions, especially the long period of time I had when fills weren't 'working'. 95% of the time I am glad I chose the band. 100% of the time I am glad I had some sort of WLS.
  4. Whats his thoughts on it? Just curious, since he did that one Dr Phil diet thing, had a friend that tried it.. he told me it was basically.. think you're thin and you will be thin! And he didn't lose any weight.. I had a good laugh.
  5. Huntsville, Alabama Sounds like we're all over the place!

I love Lost, but I'm honestly tired of it. They need to quit dragging it out! I'm ready for the end, so we know what the hell it's all about. They keep getting away from that, and making it more complicated.
  7. It ended with she's been clean since Oct 07, she's still a lesbian (imagine that!), and she's thinking about getting back into shot putting. I thought it was sad, she asked her dad "If I got clean, but still was with Kelly, would I still be bad?" and he said "Yes" BAH! GIMME A BREAK! She just needs his approval, if he'd just suck it up and say yes, get clean, and I'll be proud. But noo. A lot of times, I can tell by the family dynamics why they are drug addicts :/
  8. How bizarre, how did you get a married man as a stalker?! Kick em out of your happy bubble, as my mom likes to say  I was askin DH about lunch, forgot he's going to get Chantix today instead of us goin to lunch. I just ordered a ham chef salad from steak out. I haven't had one of those in a while, they're sooo good. I hope it goes down alright. Can't find nutrition info on it, their sirloin chef salad is about 500 calories. I'm gonna go with that, and if it goes down alright, I'll only eat about 1/2. Pre-band I couldn't ever finish it.

I wanna ride shotgun with whoever I ride with! I'll claim long leg disability!!
  10. Only bananas I have anymore are the bananas & cream oatmeal. Num num! Whole bananas do present a problem because I don't like little bites of bananas! I am the same way with bread tho, for months I know-without a doubt, it will get stuck and I'll spit it up. But it has not stopped me from trying every once in a while. I say.. maybe I'm looser at this time of day, maybe this bread is hard enough/soft enough/coated enough, etc.. that it'll go down this time. It never does. And I never learn a lesson.
  11. Well before surgery, I had to quit bowling for 2 years due to the back pains I had from being overweight. I had surgery in April, back problems had stopped around July.. and I started the fall league in August. I think 6 weeks is how long you're suppose to wait? I would ask your doc! I live in Alabama.
  12. Mine hurt before they fixed the port. He would push down on my port and make me tense up, and it was pretty painful.. felt like he was shoving something into my muscles. This had nothing to do with the needle, he had to poke a lot and that didn't bother me, but the pushing did. Once they realized my port had flipped and they fixed it, when he pushes on it, I feel no pain! So that was just a symptom of my port being in bad position. The needles don't hurt IMO, they're small enough and it's quick.
  13. Take it for what it is. Be excited you are paid for! Forget about why ya got there to begin with, and just think about how you'll be in a year
  14. My fills weren't doing anything for me for months, the docs were confused and did it under fluero. It looked like my saline goes in and then SPLOOSHES all over in my insides. So they did operation to fix a tube or port leak (they couldn't tell which). Once they were inside to fix it, they realized my port flipped a complete 180, and under the xray looked normal. But my first fill was about 6 weeks post-op, and they couldn't fill it, so my port flipped early on.
  15. Terri- My granny got me some nice plates from (I think) Hallmark store. They're salad plates? They're a perfect size for meals for me. I also bought at Kroger, these 1 cup bowls. Pack of 4, they look like what cooks on TV use to hold ingredients. Whenever I want something that would go in a bowl I use those. I notice a huge difference when I remember to use these things. I have (especially lately- I don't know why) gotten too much food on a normal size plate, and I am at a point where I am STUFFED, but my brain goes 'There's only a couple bites left', and I pick and pick, and I feel sick from it, but some reason I don't stop. Then I eventually give up with some still left over. If I hadn't had that to begin with, I'd be alright!!
  16. If you have Tivo, just search for Intervention. From the main TiVo screen, find programs (or something similar, I'm at work so don't have it in front of me), search for program, all catagories, all whatever, then type in intervention, search.. ta-da
  17. I am NOT a model bandster when it comes to exercise. I reluctantly admit time to time, that I can not get my lazy self into the gym. I work somewhere that has a full company gym.. like 20ft from my office. Yet, the only exercise I do.. is walk my dog around the block when I take her out now, and I always park far away, take stairs, etc. The minimal things. I am not bragging, I wish I had the commitment, motivation, etc. everyone that is out there and DOING it has!! But, I am on a bowling league. We bowl once a week. And I have been losing steadily since they fixed my port. Without my exercising  I had to take 2 weeks off for whatever reason, and my weight loss has stalled. HMMMMM. I have tried to calculate exercise-ness of bowling, but it's varied all over the place. I use a 16lb ball, 3 games, and it seems to be helping me! Just that one time a week. So my point was, for anyone else in my boat, who can't seem to motivate yourself.. join a bowling league (OR TWO.. I'm going to join 2 next season)! It's a lot of fun, and apparently a good way to get exercise!
  18. I'm like Lauren, bread is the only thing I can't handle. Pasta & rice I have no problem with. But every once in a while, even though my head and band say NO, I try to eat small pieces of bread.. and it gets stuck and I PB every time. Toasted, untoasted, buttered, decorated, or squished.. nada.
  19. Pardon my ignorance, what is diet cocoa? I have unsweetened cocoa for cooking which is 0 calories. Same stuff, but with artificial sweetener?
  20. I get the dry-roasted lightly salted from SnackAisle.com -- Your Online Source for All Natural Snacks
  21. I'm no stranger to the PB or sliming. The only time it makes me panic is if I'm in public and no empty bathroom in sight. I hate doing it if someone is in the bathroom, or if it hits me instantly (from getting hiccups after eating), and I have to cover my mouth and run to a bathroom. But as far as the actual PB or slime, it's not fun, but it's not as bad as it seems.

I work for a printing & media packaging company (for things like CD's and DVD's).. we've created a new package to replace digipaks that is 100% recycled, 64% post-consumer, NO PLASTIC. Woot. We're doing a whole campaign of going green, and I personally found us the 100% recycled paper, which is oddly enough-hard to find. (PREEN)
  23. And I meant to say WOOWOO TracyK. 14lbs to goal, fantastic! You'll hit it before your bandiversary!
  24. I just assume when they place the band, they cut the tube to fit your body how it should.
