  1. You should be proud, congratulations!
  2. I wish you the best! Keep us posted on progress. Congratulations on a better job too!
  3. "can't keep most regular food down" sounds like you're too tight and I've heard many say that will stop weight loss and even cause weight gain. Just a thought. I hope others will chime in on this.
  4. IMO, Any weight loss surgery is going to take commitment. Did you commit yourself to the band? Will you be able to make dietary commitments to the sleeve. My sister had gastric bypass, lost a lot, but didn't make the lifestyle change ,I call commitment and gained all the weight back. I wish you well on whatever you decide.
  5. This is a great post and great discussion! I was in the lazy convenience catagory. Instant gratification.
  6. Everyone is totally different on this but my DR said on average between 4.5 & 7cc, some more, some less.
  7. I hope I don't offend anyone, but my granddaughter see's many Drs and the only time she has trouble is when she see's a NP. I know there's good and bad in every profession, but when a NP continues to not see there is a problem, its time to insist on what my daughter calls "a real Dr". Sorry this went on for so long, but glad you're seeing the surgeon now.
  8. Thoughts & prayers with you Shellee! Please keep us posted.
  9. I've taken my pills whole, right after initial swelling went down. No problems.
  10. She all she needed was a little b i t c h slappin, lol just joking Just try and stay calm msrhonda, everything will work out. It is a learning process that takes time and patience. We're all in this together.
  11. To get me through those times I tried to keep myself very busy. All my drawers are cleaned out, closets clean, laundry room repainted etc... I would also fill in the in between meals with sf hot chocolate, decaf tea and lots and lots of water. Good luck!
  12. Fact is if you over eat you are going to PB or throw up. Really try hard not to miss meals. Get some High Protein Bars for such days. I know for a fact that weight comes off better when you eat 3 meals a day.
  13. Walking is the best medicine for gas, heating pad any other time.
  14. Great post Cheryl, I think everyone should read it too.

You go girl! I saw that post and realized that person knows nothing about you. I'm glad you're not giving up on us, though I wouldn't blame you if you did, but I sure would of missed you. Every time I welcome a newbie and tell them there is a lot of inspiration here, you are the first to come to mind, along with some other great ppl. I believe the one's that call ppl "know it alls", "preachy" are just jealous b/c they haven't treated their bands well and they make excuses. Time for them to take a good look at themselves. Thank you for staying!
  16. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your banding! Everyone usually goes through that "WTH did I do to myself" at the beginning.lol You will find a lot of support, knowledge and inspiration here, so post often. Best Wishes!
  17. I think we all go through that questioning stage. I know I did. Only you can answer if its right for you. Can you do what is required of you as far as eating the right foods and limiting your portions? Are you ready to change your lifestyle? Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.
  18. Wishing you the best! I too am sorry it didn't work out for you.
  19. Woohoo!!! Thoughts and prayers with you Hope! Keep us posted
  20. Could be any number of things, are you eating too fast, too big a bite, not chewing enough, over eating, too tight or a certian food not agreeing with you, after first pbing did you go on fluids awhile, sometimes pb irritate the esphogus?? See what I mean by a number of things? Only you will be able to figure out which one it is. Good Luck!
  21. Congratulations on getting a date! I remember well after getting the actual date how nervous and emotional you get. Its a normal response. Try to keep focus on the prize, a new healthier happier you. You will find a lot of support, knowledge and inspiration on this site. So post often and any questions just ask. Good luck on your new journey!
  22. Congratulations ! So happy it worked out for you and your wife. My daughter & sil on 2nd round of IVF and yes, mortgaged the house. Best wishes to your family!
  23. I didn't say anything about you knowing the OP. I said, you had a lot in common and maybe PMing each other you can discuss your common concerns about the vegus nerve. Nothing hostile about that. No one being paranoid, just protective of new bandsters. When someone misrepresents something we have every right to voice our concerns and opinions. The OP had so many statements listed as fact, which was not the case. I find everyone here very helpful and kind, but when it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's a duck. BTW- feel free to correct my grammer and punctaution. Yes, I remember!
  24. This MsMaui, this story sounds so much like your story on the thread "My Band Story- long but worth reading" . You and NanaPrice have a lot in common when it come to the vegus nerve, maybe a PM between you two is in order ;)
  25. Yep, I have always had a big butt and thighs. Always loose boobs first, but right now liking the change my butt has made so far. Like Elcee said, we are what we are, but being smaller all over is still better then being obese.
