  1. As of this morning I am down 142 lbs. I am 10 months post surgery and 21 pounds away from my goal weight. I feel amazing!! To go from a size 26 to 13 is exhilarating. I run into old acquaintances frequently and several times people don't know who I am!! I honestly can say I am not in the least offended. :)

    Losing Too Much?

I was wondering the same with my weight loss. Im 8 weeks out and down 54 lbs and I had a 2 week stall. I lost 5 lbs just last week. My NUT says it will slow down. I'm at 3 meals a day plus my water intake. I no longer have any food restrictions. I was allowed bread at 5 weeks.

    Sleevers With Small Kids

No matter how many posts you read about having the surgery when you have small children, you will always here the good and bad. I recommend talking to your doctor about your concerns. I also recommend that if you have the surgery make sure you have help. My husband took a week off of work with FMLA and took over watching the kids so I had as much time to heal as possible before I started caring for them by myself. I would not have been able to do it without him. Almost 5 weeks post op my husband still asks if I need a nap when he gets home from work. It comes down to your comfort level. Everyone heals differently and experience post op differently. I am so happy I had the surgery. I am a nursing mom and I had things planned so well that I was nursing my son at the hospital and had my home set up so I was careful with stairs, lifting, bending, and even getting out of bed. We put a recliner in the bedroom so I could get up easier and also nurse my son. My doctor gave me great advice and realistic expectations. I wish you luck. This is a life changing surgery and is a hard decision when you have little ones depending on you.

    Single Ladies: The Opposite Sex

I'm not single, but I had men hitting on me at my friend's wedding this weekend. My husband had no problem with it. He told me he didnt mind having an attractive wife. I don't feel attractive yet, but I wasn't expecting to have 5 drinks bought for me that I couldn't drink!
  8. I napped as much as I could. I was burnt out a lot the first couple of weeks. I was dehydrated and only getting in 30-40 oz of liquids, which was a killer when I was nursing 3x a day. Now is sooooo much easier to get my Water down. As long as I am hydrated and I remember to eat I notice I am not as tired. I also make sure I get as much sleep at night as possible. I have fallen asleep with my laptop in bed with me while doing homework. I finally had to remind myself I needed to go to bed the same time every night. So I picked a bed time and I stay to it for the most part. No more waking up to my computer tipped over next to me!

    Before Surgery

  10. When I started my journey in nov '11 I was 347. I know I weighed more, but didn't weigh myself till after two weeks of dieting. I was scared to see the scale. I started my preop aug 3rd and was at 311. Aug 14 was my surgery date and I was 296. Today I am at 269!! I am down 78 lbs since I started and down 27 since day of surgery. I still have a ways to go, but I am thrilled with the results so far!
  11. My nut told me 3 meals a day and one protein shake. So I have breakfast at 730, lunch at 11, protein shake at 2, and dinner at 630-7. I have loooong days. I drink water the rest of the time and I have to have a glass of milk every day (I'm still nursing my infant). I'm 4 weeks out.

    Sleeve And Infants

I have two kids. 5 and 11 months. I was sleeved on 8/14. I am still nursing my infant, I even nursed him at the hospital. I don't pick him up by bending down still. If I have to pick him up I have him crawl up the stairs and then I lift him. When I changed his diaper I kept "diaper stations" through the house and would have him crawl on the couch or I would get on the floor. I avoided lifting him and I used my umbrella stroller more than I thought I would lol. I had to nap when he did. By mid day I was exhausted. Some days I still need to nap, but I am going to school full time since 2 weeks after surgery. It's crazy here lol. My husband is a big help when he can be, but he works nights and sleeps during the day. I recommend not going out of the house unless you are walking or have to. I had my groceries delivered for 2 weeks (king soopers offers it in my area) and kept housework to a minimum. My 5 year old has had a fat allowance for several weeks now lol. Good luck to you! If you have any questions you are welcome to message me,

Stuck At 275 4 Weeks Post Op

Mine was the 14th. I was 296 day of surgery and have been stuck at 273 for a little over a week. It's so frustrating. I keep telling myself to stay away from the scale, but I can't!
