  1. Thanks for all the good vibes. They have been felt. I fortunately did not have any clots or anything but did have a urinary tract infection (still) from the stupid Foley catheter. It is really keeping me down.
  2. My full liquid diet also includes blended soups so I would think blending and making this as soft or mushie as possible should be ok
  3. I was having pain in my left flank area at the bra line. No shortness of breath but everytime I bend over I get a stabbing pain. Doctor sent me to get a chest x-ray and blood work. Pray it is nothing serious. Keep me in your prayers.
  4. I have read many posts comparing the ability of various goods to go down. How does that feel when food has difficulty getting down? What should one expect?
  5. It is definitely the healing process and the lack of nutrition. I got moved to full liquids and had some soup today and you would have thought I drank Premium fuel. That coupled with it being a nice day made me feel so much better.
  6. I started there too and am close to getting u dee 300. I know you enthusiasm. Like PKB said, I want to jump for joy for you but it will be me and my extended friends.
  7. My inspiration is my family. I need to be there for them and don't want them to be physical crutches for me. I want to see my own grandchildren one day and to be an active partner to my husband.
  8. I was going back 2 weeks later but due to the pain at the port site, I just came from my first post op appointment and decided to go back after 3 weeks. I thought I would be just up and running but I guess age does not allow for that, Lol.
  9. Yes they are called your blended soups. That is on my list.
  10. I agree with the others. Right now your job is to heal. My husband never had a weight problem so this was never an issue for him but he has been so supportive even more than I could have expected. Soon your husband will see the results and applaud you because this is a very hard thing to do. Hang in there.
  11. I am glad it is better and it must be a common pain as I am also having a similar pain. I am going to call MD office today but he did tell me that the port is in the area i am feeling pain.
  12. I think all of us newbies feel that way. I feel so not myself 5 days out and asked hubbie the same thing. He said think about the health benefits and they outweigh this momentary sad period. I just keep sipping along and will see my doctor and also let him know how I feel. I am sure this is nothing different than what he has already heard. I appreciate too having people to share this with, what a great worldwide family.
  13. I am glad you all are doing fine. What is it that we have these hernias? Is it something with weight?
  14. I cannot tell if I am feeling nausea or just the abscence of food. I always keep a funny taste in my mouth.
  15. Yes it is a good one and one that should not be taken for granted. Unfortunately my niece's marriage ended in divorce. Hubby could not handle the changes. She looks stunning!
  16. I was banded on 9/24. I have to laugh because I was dreaming of sucking up an ice cream Sunday that was melted. I know solid food will bone again. I am not hungry but having weird dreams.
  17. Contact your surgeon. Don't leave this to chance.
  18. I was told not to take my vitamins until I go to see my doctor. I called to confirm. I am just feeling weakened but I do feel better having showered and walked around the house. My husband has been savior through all this.
  19. You all are so calming. Thank you so much. I feel better.
  20. Mis73 You sound like my guardian angel. Thank you so much for those comforting words. That is just what I needed.
  21. Today is day 4. I am feeling a bit better. Walked in the house. Really going to try and get myself moving today.
  22. Today is post op day four. I am not really sure what I am supposed to feel as regard the weight loss. I am trying to take in liquids every hour, sips at a time. Is there something else supposed to be going on? I laugh because I am a nurse and I have been a lousy patient with understanding things.
