Well, yesterday wasn't too bad of a day. I was the first one into surgery and left the hospital at about 2:00. From the time they let me, I was sucking on ice chips and then once home, I began sipping. I sipped all the way up until 8:00 pm. At 9:00 I took pain medication, thinking it would help me sleep, but not so. Sleep was sporadic at best. Now I'm up and just spent half an hour taking Vitamins. Will wait an hour and then begin sipping. My surgeon has me on Clear liquids for five days before going to heavier liquids. I have gained two pounds since yesterday, but know it's the swelling. All in all, it was not a bad experience so far. I'm going to try and go without pain meds if I can, which would help the healing I'm thinking. At this point, I'm just thankful the surgery is over and now I can start getting healthy.
Questions: Do I need to worry about exercise these first 5 days of clear liquids?
Do I need to worry about bowel movements these first 5 days of clear liquids?
