  4. I feel the same way delta. I have had some sorbet, a little pannacotta, but both were at restaurants that were pretty high end and it was lower sugar than you'd get if you had it from a store...anyhoo, they were good, but I was satisfied with a few bites. I LOVED red hot candy, chocolate, ok I loved sugar and really...I have no desire right now. I hope that continues I think part of that is getting off of them during the presurgery diet...basically kicking my carb addiction Now they're a nice treat, but I don't want them constantly.
  5. She's had issues all her life. Belimic and anorexia. Stemming from a difficult childhood. She's not been "fat" but she still comes from a place where food was a primary focus one way or another.
  6. ive tried flourless chocolate cake....heh heh i think i need to make a trip to trader joes. its about an hour away but i keep hearing about their great options, including a high Protein Pasta. id love some traditional spaghetti but dont want the regular pasta. ill try the bread. do you toast it?
  7. You know my son has a feeding disorder (he has no natural hunger drive) and kids like him prefer sweet, salty and savory in BIG flavors. I am finding as I eat less that the things I used to like a little now sound great, like salsa. I had a scrambled egg with salsa and sour cream yesterday for Breakfast and it was heaven. Pre sleeve I'd have not been that excited about salsa frankly. Maybe thats the trick you should be looking for...something highly flavored (that bowl of yummies sounds good to me LOL)
  8. Good way to get it out of your system I used to eat a lot of fast food when DH was out of town (I'm a lazy cook) and I must admit I think a hit at Taco Bell sounds good LOL (soft burrito with cheese and beans...hey that's almost allowed for me LOL), but I worry the fat would bother my tummy so I haven't tried it. That said, I had a delicious crab sandwich (minus the bread) which came with steak fries and I enjoyed a couple. It's kind of nice to have a treat and not be able to eat enough to cause a problem. So have you done bread much? I'm afraid to try! I know my nut allows them this week but I think it's supposed to be toasted whole wheat....I've been too chicken to explore that kind of carbs much!
  9. Are you allowed to have a cheeseburger at this stage? I guess I was thinking you were 4 or 5 weeks out....bread is a nasty no no early on as it puffs up in your tummy. I believe though you've said that your program allows potatoes at this point? (Mine does). What about making up some lovely fried potatoes at home, or shoe string but make them a bit healthier again by cooking them at home? Add some sour cream and butter, just a bit, given you aren't going to eat a bunch anyhoo and indulge in that major treat while still being sort of on program?

  11. We could use some smiles around here. They're calorie and fat free . Today begins the wooden boat festival here in port Townsend and this is the view I see outside my windows. Normally we are among the fray, having a wonderful time, but this year I mist take life easier so I just enjoy the view. What's making you smile today? Dawn
  12. I've struggled due to complications. Don't focus on the big number now. I have to get 30 a day to avoid hydration via IV. Shoot for that.
  13. Benjermine, what I read was "I can eat a whole lot more than that and not feel full, barf etc". Early on the food plans are all fairly specific, saying 1/4 to 1/2 cup. If you are following your food plan, how would you know one orr two or three cups didn't fill you up? Don't load your plate and gorge and all these concerns go away just like magic.
  14. Why are you eating too much? Use portion control and perhaps you'll see it's not much of an issue.
  15. Apple and cranberry were both on my allowed clear liquid days. They both tasted like crap mind you lol but they were allowed. I told the doc yesterday I would prefer grape juice which he said was ok watered down, but I can't being myself to Water down wine
  16. 2 months minimum. Less and you risk side effects.
