  1. I also was sleeved on the 10th of January. I actually had gained a few pounds when I got home from the hospital. My 10 day follow up I had lost a total of 18#...7 of that was from my pre op diet. I am trying not to weigh myself everyday but I can tell in my clothes. My surgeons office said that when the weight starts coming off it means that you body has adjusted. Give your body alittle time. It will comeoff!
  2. My stomach was actually swollen for a few days...the two incisions above my belly button. Jeans were an issue for the first four or five days.

Go back to the basics....document all you eat in drink in myfittnesspal.com, make sure you are getting all of your fluids and protein. Only take in your 600-800 calories a day and excercise. Good luck!
  4. I wore the same outfit to the hospital that I wore home. I had packed a bunch of stuff that was on the list but didn't hardly use anything. I was in only night and honestly did not feel like reading. I brought gas x strips but the doctor didn't want me to use them so I didn't. I wore the hospital gown the day of surgery and a comfortable pair of PJ's the next day. Good luck
  5. Hi...I am eleven days post op and my endergy level has picked up a little each day. Protein and fluids....I got a chewable calcium at the GNC store that is easy to take (three a day) and us a childrens multi vitamin..chewable. These two I can handle. Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.
  6. You need to decide if you want to go thru with this and why. Then you need to find you some SUPPORT persons to surround yourself with. I had a person or two at work that just question me but don't support me. Now I try to avoid the subject with them. I am eleven days post op and happy I went thru it. Good luck

I tolerated the choc unjury prior to surgery but since then I don't care for it. I am doing the best on the clear isopure.
  8. Good questions. I am nine days post op. I have a lot of gurggling while eating or drinking. Any ideas what it is?

Thanks all. I started some soy and am doing alright with that. As far as clears...my surgeon has us on clear liquids for the first three days post op, then full liquid for the next week, then on to puree for the next three weeks. Thanks again!

I am one week post op. I started my full liquids monday and by Wed I had so many loose stools....like 10 that day. I had started some milk on Tuesday. I have always tolerated milk before. I used soy milk today and I think thinkgs are slowing down. Has anyone else had problems with this. I had read quite a few post that have the oposite problem.
  13. I am one week out and lucky to be getting 500 calories a day. It takes so much to get my fluids and protein in there is not too much room for food. I am on full liquids for three more days before moving to pureed.
  14. About a month before surgery I started to freeze meals for my husband. I would make a little extra and then package a meal size portion for him, wrap up good and tight, label it and freeze it. I am six days post op and have pulled a few meals out of him. It has worked out good because I have not felt like cooking yet and there is no reason he should suffer because of my choice to have surgery. I feel better being able to do this. My husband is very supportive of the decisiton and would have no problem fixing his own meals.....I just know that he would not eat very healthy though. Good luck with your surgery.
  15. I agree with you....I had to do clear liquids for five days pre op. After I while the growing in my stomach did not bother me anymore and it did help kick start the weight loss. I am now six days post op and on full liquids which is like being in heaven.!!
  16. Congrats! I am six days post op.
  17. Let your body catch up. You had a large wt. loss that first week. Don't be a slave to your scale....it will come of.
  18. It does....I am 6 days post op and have been feeling better every day. Use your pilow to support your tummy. Sip, sip, sip....tiny amounts but frequently. I still have not reached the daily fluid or protein goal that they set for me. Still trying though. Good luck.
  19. I am four days out. Was on clear liquids for three days and got to have full liquids today. They allow me to have yogart, soups, hot cereal. It is more filling than clears but I am finding my stomach growling a bit more. I am having issues with any chocolate protein drinks post op and I liked them pre op. I am doing the best with isopure clear liquid protein drink. I am on prilosec twice a day for the next sixty days. Lots of gurgling and burping though.

    Congrats!
  21. Good for you! I am four days out and am feeling pretty good too. I still have some soreness with two of my incisions. Good luck
  22. Please go to the ER. About ten years ago my sister in law had a gastric bypass. It was a Saturday and she did not want to bother the doctor on a weekend with her complaints of pain and fever. She died that night. I truly beleive that if she would of seeked medical attention her death could of been prevented. Please...go to the ER. I am not telling this to you to scare you....just share the tragedy that our family experienced.
  23. Me too! I watch the color of my urine and it is fine so I know I am not dehydrated. it is nice to sleep all thru the night!
  24. No..I am sorry for your discomfort. I am four days out and really only had the gas bubble issure on the first day. Maybe you sould just check with your surgeons office to make sure it is just the gas. It is always better to make sure of the cause than just assume. We are talking your body and what is as important that that. Good luck!
  25. Good luck. I am three days out and it is getting easier. Just be very careful in the beginning. I heard from so many about nausea and vomiting. Sip, sip, sip. Good luck....you will do fine!
