Planar Fasiitis
I had PF and did all of what pp talked about. Frustrated by months of working with MDs, I got acupuncture. Three treatments and it was gone. I had one relapse because I stopped stretching. I resumed stretching and had more acupuncture. I have been pain free for 11 months. I was completely unwilling to get cortisone shot in my tendon. Too much risk of rupture. Weigh is a big problem. Also, though, the pediatrist diagnosed a bunion at my great toe. I wear an insert that corrects that to prevent PF in that foot. I had PF in both. I hope you find relief soon. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

- Distant Husband
I think also we become very self-focused for long periods of time. We change the dynamics of the relationship. That's tough for spouses and kids: "no I can't eat that. No lets not go to dinner it's such a waste. No, I'm recovering. Look how good I'm doing." It's change. Our change is dramatic change for all the people who love us. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX- Is It Possible...
You can totally be a successful sleeved vegetarian. Vegan would be a challenge. But if you'll continue dairy and eat Greek yogurt...not to mention there are a ton of vegetarian soy and tofu based Protein sources like morning star farms Breakfast patties, etc. I know a very successful vegetarian sleever. I occasionally have meat aversion. I eat lentils and Beans and tofu. Nom nom nom. Good luck! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX- New Here Need Advice
Are you working with a surgeon/nut/endocrinologist team? Other ppl have mentioned too few calories and lack of Protein. ITA. They also mentioned eating more frequently. I also think you've lost a lot of weight. two to three pounds a week is the norm. Here is my concern: I am concerned that you are losing muscle not fat. If you are doing high impact aerobic classes like Zumba, your body is going to metabolize muscle and hang on to fat. WLS patients eat way too few calories to support high impact aerobics this soon out. To achieve healthy and safe weight loss we want low impact, like your walking, and weight training. Your heart is a muscle. Be careful. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX- Excersise
You can lift light weights. For example, if your surgeon said do not lift more than 15 pounds, you can do bicep curls and triceps extensions with two five pound weights for a total of 10 pounds. If 5 pounds is too much, do two pounds. You can always lift more reps with less weight. Smaller muscles (anterior deltoid) respond better to this higher reps/lower weight. If you pull on your incisions, they're going to hurt. If you need pain meds after lifting light weights, you're lifting too much. Lift sitting down and you won't engage your core. And/or lift one arm at a time if you feel your core tighten when you lift. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. There is a sleeve plication procedure that is reversible. The surgeon plicates the stomach and folds/rolls it back. My surgeon does them. This is a new technique. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX- Liquid Magnesium Not Working....?!

At about 65 pounds lost, ppl got confident enough to compliment me. Many said they thought I was losing a couple weeks before they said anything. Weight is such a touchy subject. I give ppl the benefit of the doubt. They don't want to hurt me. No one know so had surgery. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX- Cantina Laredo

- Experience With Oregon Or Washington Surgeons?
I too am a patient of Dr. Patterson. She is incredibly efficient. That woman blows my mind. I've had two procedures with her. VSG in July and a abdominal hernia repair last week (from csection not VSG). I've been working with her office since January. Highly recommend this practice. No complications. Great follow up. She really listened to some feedback and made changes. While a guru for sure, still humbled by her patients. Great doctor and surgeon. My relationship with Good Sam hasn't been as involved; still, great nursing staff. No complaints. Things went very smooth.
