  1. Just wanted to warn you guys... tried these today because I love almost everything lemon and it was like chewy dish soap... not that I've eaten dish soap... but it is what I imagine it tasting like... good thing I only bought 2.... I will be trying mixed berry next... not today, because I'm not sure how long it is going to take to get this awful taste out of my mouth....

Just had my 4 month check up. Doc says doing good. I'm in a bit if a stall but I know it is because I've been snacking more than I should and have gotten a little cocky. So I am back to measuring again. Not going to get into bad habits again. Glad to see my November peeps doing well. Worm you are my hero!! You look amazing.

    Fitness pal exercise

Just wondering, do most people eat all the added calories after working out? Fitness pal adds about 200 calories to my calorie goal when I log my walking etc. so should I try to eat those? I am 2 1/2 months post op

    Cornedbeef cabbage?

Anyone post op over 4 months have trouble with this? The meat I don't struggle with. With StPattys day coming I was hoping to enjoy a little of this Irish favorite.

    Dear Elliptical, I hate you.

Very encouraging. I can barely do 5 min without feeling like I'm dying. Will remember your stories next time I go gym instead of avoiding the elliptical.

Buffets would send me over deep end. I already can eat more than I would like. I wouldn't want to tempt that pouch of mine. It is already in a stall so keeping away from buffets and eating out in general for a bit.
  8. I love MFP. It helps so much to keep me straight. It makes me more accountable for my food and to stay on track with Protein and Vitamins. I am 6 weeks post op.

    Chest Pain

Is this from too much or too big of a bite. I'm just starting solids and I thought I chewed well enough but man does my chest feel like someone punched me.

    Starving

I'm there too. I am three weeks out and the head hunger is terrible. Trying so hard to get back inline with everything so I don't self sabotage. I haven't had any pouch issues and am happy for that but I almost wish I did. We just have to get out of our heads I think and do what we gotta do until the mental part lines up with our new body.

I am a little moody myself today and feeling alot of head hunger. Too many food ads on TV and didn't sleep well so no energy for a walk right now. Just venting. Only three weeks out so I knew this would happen... Emotions driving me bonkers. Maybe a nap will help. Thanks for letting me share.

    First Egg

Just wanted to share I ate my first food today. I had a scrambled egg. It was great. No troubles at all. I didn't feel full or anything so that has me wondering what is up. Everyone seems to say one bite and they are done. Do you think my pouch is still healing so I don't feel food yet? Just going through the usual worries we all have I guess in the beginning. Anyone feel things may be going a little too easy sometimes?

Thanks so much. It is hard to figure out all the new "normals ". Glad to have community to turn to. I can sip water and realize by end of show bottle is gone. Just want to stay hydrated. I hear dehydration is quite yucky.

How many shakes and/or water should we get in? Is a 20oz water too much in 45-60 minutes or. 12oz shake in that time? I know liquid is important but I don't want to push. I am 11 days post op. thanks!

  16. I was able to finish a 6oz yogurt today with protein powder in it. Is this too much too soon ? I am 9 days post op. I figured I would just stop when I was 1/2 finished but wound up eating it. I feel fine and no over full. Anyone else able to eat a bit more than suggested? I will measure more next time

Sounds like a great support system ladyspl. My dad flew in from NY to help and my hubby used some leave time to stay in hospital with me. It hasn't sunken in too much yet. Still feels a bit unreal. When I go back to work and life is back on schedule so to speak it will probably hit like ton of bricks. In a good way though. Just more prepping of my nutrition and fitting in the excercise. Enjoy your time off and use it to recover. Don't rush anything.

I Like It Hot N Spicey!

My NUT said spices and sauces won't bother you but taste buds change so that was only thought on that from her. I strained some hot and sour soup and mixed with a bit of beef broth and loved loved loved it. Good luck spicy!

    Feeling Sad And Scared

I am sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I am only 8 days out and dumping scares me the most. How did you know that is what it was and was it a good you expected could cause dumping? I am so worried about it being a newbie like you. I hope you feel better soon. Stay strong. You made the right choice. I think it is a learning process for everyone in the beginning.

Head hunger is driving me a little crazy too. I am still working on getting everything in but timing in all the sipping water and protein I am going a little nuts.

    Blood Sugars.

Hi. I'm 5 days post op. and expected sugars to stay under 150's. I'm staying a little over that and was wondering from other type2's if that is maybe from meds or the surgery. It if I am an unlucky one who didn't get the great numbers post op. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Blood Sugars.

That is great Virgie. I hope to find out I will be like that too soon. I know 150-175 are way better than what I had but still hoping for better numbers. This was main component if my decision for RNY instead if sleeve.

    Blood Sugars.

Pretty much. Is a wait and see approach unusual?

    Soft Food Disappointment

I hear that is pretty normal. Hang in there. I worry about that too. Everyone usually says to add some activity. Is that a possibility for you?
