Yoga

I don't have a surgery date yet but was thinking that I've always wanted to do yoga but am too big. Does anyone do yoga post op? I was wondering because they basically rearrange your insides and thought all the stretching and positions might not be do able after surgery. Anyone have any with experience with yoga post op that could enlighten me?

Great question,I love yoga and plan on doing it as often as I can.

I have been doing yoga for about 4 years. First you need to get clearance from your doctor post op then if you take a class you do what you know your limits are. Tell your instructor that your are RNY post op etc. etc. I am 5 monts post op and do yoga on my Wii at home. I was cleared for all and any kind of exercise 1 month post op. I think it all depends on how well you do after surgery and your size as well. Yoga is awesome... you will love it. It makes my body and mind feel wonderful, I also sleep really well when I do yoga :)

I would love to do yoga but at this point its a stuggle, but that will b a goal of mine come next yr when some of this weight is gone.
